This lovely home was perfect for our family gathering! Plenty of space for my extended family to stay, and lots of outdoor space for our picnic. Air conditioning and comfy space indoors for our more warm weather-sensitive family members. Kitchen was well-stocked. Plenty of towels and blankets available. Firepit was a bonus, and we were appreciative of the wood left nearby. Friendly owner, Cathy, came to check that we had everything we needed, but gave us plenty of space to enjoy our stay. The home was also beautifully decorated with pleasing aesthetics and artwork! Thank you!

We had a great stay. Check-in/Check-out was straightforward. Fishing was slow due to the time of year but the house and area was beautiful.

Every year I take three of my kids and their friends to an Adirondack cabin near the water for five days. This was a very nice, well-equipped house that had everything we needed for our annual getaway. However, this house is not in the Adirondack park!! I feel that the listing is false advertising because if you don't look at a map you won't know exactly where the house is, and you don't get the actual address until you book the property! This house sits just north and west of the northeastern edge of the park, about a 10 minute drive outside of the border. If I had known this I would not have chosen this spot. We didn't even get to drive through the park on the way there because it's so far north our trip was mostly driving between the park and the Canadian border. The river access is problematic too. Yes, you can walk down a path behind the house to the Salmon River, but there is no beach or anywhere to hang out that we could find. The only access is a large rock sitting in the water with vegetation on either side, and the Salmon River is COLD! This wasn't a huge deal, since we were able to find a river access site less than a mile to the south, but we had to drive there and share it with other people if we wanted to enjoy the water, which I have already said is arctic. Other than that, the host was very gracious and checked on us during our stay. Some things that would have been nice to have are a grill and small firewood pieces for a campfire.

Kerry Thank you for your review of my property. I realize my property is not in the Adirondack park border. But my property is considered to be in the Adirondacks. The APA, which is the Adirondack Park agency is a protected New York state area and the APA map shows where the boundaries of the park are and there are strict building codes in those areas. If you wanted to be in the APA map area, you would have paid hundreds of dollars more to be near places like Lake Placid. My cottage is one hour from Lake Placid and is priced accordingly. I don’t understand that you said you would have liked a grill and fireplace wood??? There is a very large grill on the back patio with a picnic table and umbrella. The grill has a full tank of propane and an extra tank in case you run out. There is also about a half a cord of wood piled by the fireplace for my guests to use. If these things were an issue when we spoke during your stay, I would have been happy to discuss any misunderstandings. I enjoyed having you and your family at my cottage. You are a very good guest and I hope you come back on another summer vacation.

Very special place

We were in the area for a family gathering and this turned out to be the perfect spot to stay. The house was very cozy and was a great place to relax after long, busy days. It gave my granddaughters room to explore and be loud without getting in trouble. I would definitely stay there again!

We found this property to be perfect for our group of four adults and a four year old. It would have easily accommodated more. It was quiet when we needed quiet and close to everything we wanted to do. The hostess was absolutely lovely and everything met or exceeded our expectations!I would highly recommend this property if you have any cause to be in the area!

Comfortable Cottage in North Country

This was a great cottage to stay at. It was clean, comfortable, quiet and relaxing. Close to ATV riding trails and restaurants. We had a great time.

Amazing place and host

Sad we had two nights of cold water but host tried everything to fix issue.. place was amazing and loved it so glad i got a chance to enjoy this place. Working in town so wish id had more time to enjoy it a little more but overall an amazing time.

Cozy Cottage

Beautiful surroundings of the Adirondack Mountains. Cottage offers plenty of amenities. Property is well maintained and the host Cathy is onsite and very attentive if needed. We loved our 3 night stay.

Beautiful , clean & comfortable! Home is well stocked with basics. Decent kitchen equipment , we cooked in most meals. Easy check in. I loved the back yard & porch. Took peaceful naps out there, only the sounds of nature. It was only 2 of us but would be great for a family or friends vacation spot.

Lovely spot for a weekend away

We picked this cabin due to its location to Lake Placid and specifically The Almanzo Wilder Homestead. It was very easy to get to both places and provided a cozy place to hang out and rest our heads when not sight seeing. The front porch provided a lovely hang out spot during the unfortunate rain when we weren't able to have a fire. I would strongly suggest this cabin to anyone, especially if you have a love for being outdoors rain or shine.

Farmhouse Cottage

Our family had a wonderful stay in the cottage over Christmas. The location is terrific. The cottage is comfortable and warm. The wifi is reliable.And Cathy is a friendly and responsive host.I highly recommend.

I am a native of the North country. I owned and operated a bridal shop in downtown Malone for 23 years and retired in 2007. I enjoyed working with brides and attending to every detail of their wedding.

I have enjoyed being a VRVO host for the past 15 years and I have been fortunate enough to put together a great staff to help manage my properties.

The nature and aesthetic beauty of this area has always represented a peaceful place to live. Occasional sightings of deer, moose, bears and lots of birds are an exciting part of living here

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

I love this property because it is located at the foothills of the Adirondack mountains, close to the ski center, great hiking trails and the golf course, It is aesthetically beautiful, surrounded by trees and a scenic path to the river. The location is also good for snowmobilers and four wheelers as it is very close to a network of trails and there is plenty of area for parking trucks, trailers ando all the toys.

Additionally, the location is just a short drive to the Almanzo Wilder home, Mohawk Casino, Lake Placid Olympic center, the St. Lawrence River and the Canadian border.

The house is comfortable for hanging out and provides ample space for an active family, guys fishing trip or couples getaway
