THE AMBIENCE
If thoughts of azure oceans, romantic getaways and sunrise mornings are just some of the peaceful images that makes your heart skip a beat, then this is the Kauai Oasis of your dreams. Turn your dreams into lifelong memories at our lovely Hale Hokulani (House of Starry Heavens) #214 at Wailua Bay View on the east side of Kauai - an enviously breathtaking 1 bedroom, ocean-front, ocean-edge condo located for perfect access to all parts of the island, and a spot of heaven you just may never want to leave.
Imagine lounging on the secluded and private lanai (located on the quiet end of the property) where the breaking waves, along with tropical trade wind breezes, glorious sunrises, amazing moonrises, and sparkling night skies will have you lost to all of the cares of the world.
Depending on the time of year of your stay, from the lanai you may get to admire breaching whales off the coast, observe sea turtles swimming or lounging on the beach, watch kite surfers flying through the air, or you may even get to cheer on an outrigger canoe race or two! Plus, in addition to the unobstructed view, guests appreciate the enhanced security and privacy that a 2nd floor unit provides. (Please note - the unit is up one flight of stairs - no elevator). And, when it's time to get out and play, you can walk to nearby shops, restaurants and beaches, rent kayaks and bikes, or hop in your car, private tour, or Kauai bus and head any direction for a day of fun.
THE DETAILS
The unit has had a recent 'facelift', with all new furniture, ceiling fan, carpet, linens, pillows and mattress in the bedroom, new furniture, carpet and ceiling fan in the living room/dining area, and new hurricane windows & sliding glass doors and flooring on the lanai. Plus newly added air conditioning is now in the main living area, too!
The bedroom features a king size bed, a new cool-sleep memory foam mattress, new luxurious linens and pillows, and there is also an air conditioner in the bedroom to cool you down on those warmer nights. The bedroom's double-paned noise reduction windows open to let in the soft ocean breezes, and then close tightly for a peaceful night's sleep. We also provide robes for you both - perfect for those crisper mornings on the lanai. The newly renovated bathroom is stocked with all of the necessities needed for a worry-free stay, including towels and toilet paper, shampoo and soap, plus for those longer stays you have an in-unit washer and dryer with complimentary detergent and dryer sheets at your fingertips.
Should you be in the mood to cook, you will love the well-equipped kitchen that not only includes all of the basics, like a good selection of spices and condiments, a dishwasher, range, full size refrigerator and a microwave, but there is even a waffle maker and French press for a wonderful morning out on the lanai. That is, of course, if you can pass up the Passion Bakery Café (just across the street), whose pastries are a Kauai favorite! Finally, flanking the newly renovated pool grounds are gas BBQ grills, perfect for you to enjoy so many of the fresh fish options that Kauai has to offer.
The condo is wonderfully stocked with the many items needed to enhance a tropical vacation, including beach towels, picnic coolers, beach chairs, a beach umbrella, a new 55" Smart TV in the living room, and a flat-screen TV in the bedroom, a DVD player and also games and movies. The kitchen has a great selection of spices, and other sundries, and there is also a new Keurig Supreme coffee maker and a sampling of Kauai Coffee K-Cups to kick-start your day. The pool is the perfect spot to relax after a day of adventure, and you will appreciate how beautiful and well maintained the tropical plants and property are kept by the on-site care taker.
THE LOCATION
Located on a bluff at the edge of the Wailua River Bay, along the Royal Coconut Coast in south Kapa’a, this vacation retreat is just 10 minutes from the Lihue airport. In addition to walkable shopping at the Coconut Marketplace (a 5 minute walk), and a wonderful variety of restaurants (our favorite being the Lava Lava on the Beach), many of Kauai's top activities are also nearby, to include the Wailua Golf Course (known as the best play for pay in Hawaii), Lydgate Park (a wonderful tree-lined picnicking beach with jetty-enclosed safe swimming and snorkeling havens), Wailua River Kayaking, numerous hiking trails, the Smith Family Garden Luau (an island favorite), and the "Ke Ala Hele Makale" - the 7.5 mile bike path that runs along the coast.
In the unit is a binder with a list of restaurants, tours, and boat trips that will help you plan your days, but, we do recommend making your most important and desired reservations for restaurants and activities prior to your arrival. The Kauai Bike/Walking Path passes along the front of the property, and is the launching point to access nearby swimming beaches (5-20 minute walk). Wailua Bay beach, a great walking beach where you can find little treasures in the sand, is only a 2 minute walk; start at the southern end of the complex, down the steps and along the path then down to the sand. To the north is Lae Nani/Papaloa Beach, a 5-minute walk. Lydgate Park is a short drive (or 15-20 minute walk) to the south, and is known for its sea ponds (full of baby fish), and the perfect spot for swimming and snorkeling. Please note, while the area in front of Wailua Bay View was never a great swimming beach, older images show sand in front of the property - but Mother Nature has had other plans, and so any sand is there only during low tide.
THE SPECIFICS
This ocean side suite offers Complimentary Wi-Fi and Free Parking. The space, including the spacious lanai, is approx. 750 square feet. There are no daily resort fees or hidden costs. There is a keyless entry system for convenient and safe check-in. There are also strict disinfecting & cleaning measures in place. As mentioned above, Air Conditioning is in the bedroom and living area. This is a 2nd floor unit with no elevator, however parking is very convenient.
As owners who care about you and your Kauai experience, we strive to earn the coveted 5-star rating with every single guest. We personally manage our condo, and we have secured the best on-island staff on Kauai - their attention to detail is 2nd to none. Upgrades and refurbishments happen often, so don’t be surprised when you find the unit is even better than we described! You will also have direct communication with us and our representative team to answer any questions, should the need arise.
This condo, and the entire property has a very strict NON-SMOKING policy - this includes cigarettes, vape, and marijuana - even medical.
Check-in is 4pm / Check-out is 10am. We have a very active rental schedule, and with our extra cleaning protocols in place, we ask that you do not arrive early or depart late - thank you for understanding.
