The Red Farmhouse

Welcome to the "Red House". She was built in the 1800's out of solid old growth redwood. She has housed many farming families over her life time. She sits on an 80 acre ranch just two minutes outside of Ferndale the "Victorian Village". It was once an operating dairy farm. Currently we use the land for our young dairy calves. Our dairy is just down the road! We started renovating her in 2020. It has been a labor of love but she has life again! We are excited to share her with all of you!

Beautiful, peaceful stay

We loved staying at the red farmhouse, it was immaculate and everything was perfectly appointed. Sitting on the front porch taking in the view was our favorite activity.

We love staying at the Farmhouse

Our Kinetic raci g team has been staying here for years, during the Memorial Day Weekend race. It has become our home away from home, while we do the Triathlon of the Art world. I am including a photo of the Grand Champion trophy we won this year!

Rural retreat

The property was clean, charming and well equipped. It was wonderful to have space to gather and not feel like we were on top of each other. We enjoyed all the scenery and wildlife. It was the best VRBO we’ve ever rented!

Beautiful Farm House

Great property! Owner, Nicole, is super sweet, very helpful, gave a lot of recommendations. Staying in her wonderfully upgraded and tastefully decorated house gave all of us a real feeling of 'living on the farm'.

Birthday Celebration

My daughter, son-in-law, two teenage grandchildren and I stayed here for 3 nights. The house is very roomy and comfortable. We did some great hiking in the Redwoods National and State Parks. Also spent a fun afternoon in the cute town of Ferndale.

Perfect for our large family

We were in town for a wedding and the house was perfect for our large family! Bathrooms were huge easy for sharing! Everything was perfect for our needs and communications with Nicole were so easy! We will be back again!

Lovely farmhouse in great location

This farmhouse was perfect for our family getaway. The house itself is roomy and full of beautiful farmhouse character and the hosts have thought of every detail from games to kitchen appliances to the oh-so-comfortable beds! Full laundry, baby gate, and diaper changing table were the icing on the cake for us travelling with twin toddlers. Location is fantastic, loved chatting with the cows, super easy to pop into town, and the beach/headlands are just a short drive away. Beautiful area, we would definitely stay here again.

Serene Farm Setting

Wow, what a wonderful, spacious farm house in such a peaceful setting! The owner has done an amazing job at creating a charming home with comfortable beds, nice linens, quality dishware, stocked with everything you could ever need, and extremely clean (and I have high standards!) and organized. The personal touches were greatly appreciated and were the icing on the cake! We enjoyed coffee on the front porch while enjoying the serenity and view. Will definitely book again the next time we are in Ferndale! Thank you for such a great experience!

We love the Farmhouse!

This is the second year our Kinetic Racing Team has stayed at this amazing 4 bedroom 2 bath, spacious farmhouse. We love cooking together in the large kitchen, and we enjoy doing our laundry during the race. With 2 stoves, you can get a lot of pots going. I really appreciate being able to have some down time in my bedroom while everyone else visits in the living room. We really made this our home base this year, and won the Kinetic Championship for the second time. For The Glory!

I didn’t want to leave!

My husband, two adult children, and brother and sister in law stayed at this lovely farmhouse for thanksgiving. I felt like I was in a VRBO commercial! The first thing that I think of is the attention to detail the owner has shown all over the home. From the toiletries provided in the bathroom, to the well stocked kitchen, to the fuzzy blankets in the living room, everything was perfect. Of course, our favorite was the candy, cheese, and wine left for us, all made locally. Next was the layout of the home. The bedrooms suited us perfectly and were very comfortable. The dining room was spacious. The kitchen was large enough for many of us to cook at one time. And the claw foot tub was wonderful! I kept saying I wasn’t going to leave - the next renters wouldn’t mind an extra person! Instead, I am hoping to come back and have a longer stay!

Comfortable, big. Nichole provided plenty of towels, lap blankets even anticipating needs like bandaids and toothbrushes. Loved the porch to enjoy the peaceful view.

The Red Farmhouse is Magical

My kinetic racing team and I stayed at the Red Farmhouse over Memorial Day weekend, and were blown away by how lovely and roomy the house is. The kitchen is big enough to hang out in while folks are cooking. The living room is comfortable. All the bedrooms have comfy mattresses, and are very clean. The bathrooms had to put up with a full house and did a great job with no breakdowns. Everyone who wanted a shower could have one. We loved the Red Farmhouse!!

Wonderful house!

We loved staying at the red farmhouse. The house was beautiful and stocked with everything you could possibly need. It was very clean and absolutely charming. The owner was very nice and easy to get a hold of for any questions. My kids loved the cows next door. Ferndale is a charming town and an easy spot to visit all the Redwoods. We can’t wait to visit the red farmhouse again someday!
