Nestled away within over 50 acres of woodland near golf, parks, and museums, this secluded jewel is perfect for families and groups looking to get away to the mountains. Light up the firepit, or enjoy the wide view from the private deck. Peace and quiet come easily here! Two different living areas means that everyone will have space to relax. The downstairs bedroom now includes a twin bed with a pullout trundle, as well as a mini fridge and coffee station. The ping pong table is located downstairs as well. The semi-open full kitchen features a breakfast bar with seating for three guests and plenty of full-size appliances to help you put together delicious meals. You'll love relaxing in the private hot tub after a day of adventure, and you can also cook out on the private gas grill! Enjoy the sounds of the creek from the back deck, surrounded by the deep quiet of the woods.

Great house once you’re there.

This house has everything you need once you get there but the getting there is the hard part. Winding, narrow unpaved mountain road. You need four wheel drive to access the portion leading to the “driveway”. Great outdoor wrap around patio and comfortable furnishings in living room and master bedroom (we only used master as it was just me and my husband). Very spacious set up for more people though. Great set up for our dogs.

House was clean and stocked well. The hot tub was a winner for my husband. The gas grill had to be lite with a lighter or it wouldnt light. The wrap around porch was nice for the dogs with gates to each end but one had nothing so we had to make shift a barrier for our pets not to escape. The road was narrow, rain ruts and scratched up our GMC 3500 Denali pickup truck from overgrowth of shrubs not being trimmed. We left 3 days early due to weather conditions and uncertainty of the travel back down the mountain. It was TO QUIET FOR US. IT WAS A ERIE QUIET. We only saw 1 bird and one squirrel. We wont be returning.

I would not recommend this house

Until they update the house with linen, fix the dishwasher and dryer, put some more gravel on the road up and clean the trees that can scratch your car. It was definitely not ready for us to check in, but it has potential. I'd say stay away for now until they can update some things.

This home has amazing views. You are on top of the Mountain so yes the driveway was long and mountainous but we had no issues in our SUV. Clean and comfortable stay. Temps were so much cooler. We had an amazing tranquil stay. If looking for a place to enjoy nature and the quiet this is it.

The location is off the beaten path. The driveway was an adventure but that's what made it cool. The location is about 40 minutes from some of the more major hiking opportunities if that's what you're into. Great space for hanging out, cooking, and enjoying family time.

Review about my stay

Very nice house. The pictures of the property were accurate. Our stay was very enjoyable with beautiful views. The only downfall about the house is the internet was spotty and you needed to leave the house to make a phone call. The bed in the downstairs bedroom was quite uncomfortable, but overall we would definitely go back.

Private, Relaxing, Peaceful, Super Dog-friendly

This is our first time travelling with our rescue pup (3 year old lab/pit mix) and it was amazing. The house is 100% dog friendly with a gated deck area, a nice dog run, and a large crate already set up for dogs that are crate trained. Our pup enjoyed plenty of time to run around, fetch sticks, and generally exhaust himself hiking around the property with us. Our only quibble is that the gas tanks on the grill were empty and we had been looking forward to grilling a few meals while we were there. But highly recommend this property and we hope to come back again to enjoy it.

Wonderfully relaxing and fun

We enjoyed our weekend getaway. Went on the great Smokey mountain railway super fun time. Shopped downtown. So many great hole in the wall places to eat. House was clean and spacious. We didn’t have issues with wifi. Able to use phones and laptop but cell service was slow. Which we expect when going to the mountains so not huge deal for us. Will definitely be back

Nice property.

Nice property with amazing views. The property was clean with comfortable furnishings. The property is remote but for the privacy the drive was not bad at all( I have had a lot harder, Narrow but not steep). The only reason I don't give a 5 star is there are a couple of thing that could be updated. The TVs( they don't support all Apps, Youtube TV) and the Heating and AC. The heat worked well( not sure about the ac) But there are different types of Propane heaters and baseboard heaters in different rooms.

VERY SECLUDED!

Your description of the driveway is not complete. You need to let folks know parts of the road (one way only) is washed out in places. If you are to come up on another vehicle someone has to back out and there are no turn around places. ONLY for people who want to get away and not leave for the weekend. I will not go back.

We had a great time at this location. It was comfortable with many spaces to relax, a great kitchen, and very comfortable beds. We loved the hot tub - it was isolated but not covered by any tress, which was nice. It did get hot with there being no AC - but it was manageable since it was May. I don't know how it'd be in the dead of summer though. WiFi and cell service worked fine for me. The only time there was an issue was when Netflix was playing on the tv and I was trying to download a show on my iPad. But once I paused Netflix the download worked fine.

Nice Visit

The house was very roomy. We loved the privacy and the porch the best. I do want to say that the driveway is something that needs to be noted. The neighbors that live on the property line have put no trespassing signs up everywhere. These signs make you feel every uncomfortable as you drive the long, narrow driveway! With nowhere to turn around you have to keep driving no matter the level of discomfort. Just keep driving to the top. We will go back!

Great house, fully stocked, but extremely difficult location, not specified in listing.

You must have a 4x4 to get to this house. It rained all week. The roads are dirt, slippery and the entire ride up to the house is a narrow, one-lane cliff-side road with no turn around spots available. It's very rough, rocky and difficult to find. It's not just the last house on the street, but it's the final house at the top of a high mountain and this should be noted. Cars cannot turn around on property. You must park behind one another and then drive back down backwards if they wish to leave. House was FANTASTIC. But, when we pulled the covers open to deep, the bedding was dirty, not changed. Towels were brown and needed replacing by Vacasa's linen service. I was considering them as management for my upcoming rental but am now reconsidering. We called about the dryer not working on night 1 and never heard back for the entire 10 day stay. If I could rate the owner's property, it's a 10. Vacasa...a 4.

You NEED a 4x4 to get there....all year!

You must have an SUV, truck or high clearance car to get up the mountain path to the house. This is not a typical driveway. It is single vehicle entry/exit with only one place to turn around, if you can even get to it. If it rains, half of the pathway (last leg up) washes away and you have to gun it up the remaining 50 yards or more. We had to switch vehicles and shuttle back and forth into town. If you are coming up and not leaving until checkout, this might be for you, but if you are doing things in town, I would recommend picking a different option, closer to the bottom of the mountain. The house is big and spacious with two full bathrooms and two separate sitting areas but only one has a TV. The cable service did not work in the downstairs bedroom where the kids beds are located. This was an issue for our family. There are plenty of games to keep you entertained during the day and evening but if you need TV to fall asleep, choose another option. No TV in third bedroom only in master and downstairs but it didn't work. Wi-Fi is strong for texting but you can't make calls and it's not strong enough for computers so don't plan on working while you're there. I understand that the point of this rental is to immerse yourself in nature but we were there for WCU graduation and we needed to be able communicate and travel up and back from town without issue. The pathway up damaged our vehicle. The sheets were stained in multiple bedrooms. The hot tub was great and the kitchen was large and spacious. We enjoyed cooking as a family and playing games. Overall, the house is nice but getting to it was extremely difficult and because of the initial issues we experienced, I would not recommend this unit. Customer service was helpful and I received a timely response after reaching out for help.

Mountain top excursion

This house was perfect for me and my 4 teenagers. The teens needed their own space and had a blast playing ping-pong and cards every night. The house was nice and clean and the kitchen was well stocked, so we could cook dinner every night. The deck around the house was very spacious and we used the hot tub every night. The weather was perfect in the mornings (even in August) for a walk down the mountain road and back up (which is a real challenge). The drive up the mountain is an adventure and I'm grateful to have read the other reviews about "keep going" to the top. We would plan 1 trip a day, so we would only go up and down once per day and back before it was dark out. But it's a beautiful location, lots of space and we enjoyed every minute. Be sure to read the other reviews about the drive up/ parking. There was a new hammock installed, but sadly, the posts were not dug deep enough and fell over when my daughter sat in it (needs to be fixed). There were enough towels for us for showering but recommend packing extras for water sports/ swimming/ waterfalls/ tubing. There were new gates built on the ends of the deck, guessing they will also add one to the staircase, which will be SO helpful for families with younger children and for pets. There was no central A/C, but the window units in the bedrooms and one in the living room was plenty and kept everyone cool. It was fun being so high up and isolated, the kids enjoyed being able to explore the woods and I (mom) was not worried about anyone just driving by. The wifi worked well (password is lowercase) for kids to use their phones but was slow for laptop/ computer use (no working on vacation). If you enjoy a slightly adventurous drive, looking for a space to get away but large enough for your family- I would highly recommend this home!

Horrible communication, refusing a refund, ants, no Wi-Fi or cell service, never called back.

We arrived on Sunday at check in. We had trouble with the key box, went to call and realized there was no cell service, I went to connect to the WiFi and the WiFi was down. We reset the router and did all the troubleshooting, it still said “no service”. I would have called the internet company but there was also no land line. We drove to the grocery store called the rental company from the parking lot. The representative at Vacasa (you have to call the 800 number for any assistance, they have no local contact information) said someone would be there soon to help us. I told him we weren’t there because I had to leave to make the call. I said if he gave us 30mins we would be back. Our dogs were inside so I didn’t want someone walking in. He said he would make a note to have them give us 30 mins to get back. We waited all night, we didn’t leave in case someone came and nobody ever showed. Monday morning we called again. We explained we were here for a work trip and needed to have some kind of internet connection (even if it is slow) or ability to use a phone. Even in the case of an emergency we didn’t like the idea that we had absolutely no way to make any emergency call. I also said we would move to a new spot if this one can’t get internet restored today. The rep said we would be contacted by a local manager in the next 30 mins. We sat in town waiting for a call because I knew I wouldn’t have service at the rental. Nobody ever called us back again. Also on Monday morning we woke up to ants all over our food on the kitchen island. Then someone else’s dog was sitting on our porch making our dogs go crazy. We had to move furniture to keep the dog off the porch and away from coming up to the windows by our dogs. Monday afternoon after no call back, we called the rep and said we were leaving Tuesday because this was just not working and the communication is just too hard trying to fix all this. They said no problem, that we will probably be refunded the whole stay or from the time we left on. We called Tuesday and let them know right when we left. After that we got a text that someone needed to be there Tuesday from 2-5pm for a technician to come out. I responded that we had left already. No response until Thursday when they left a voicemail that said they denied our refund and we would have to pay the full amount. This whole experience has been horrible and ruined our trip. Save yourself the headache, don’t stay here.

Almost perfect!!!

We loved the hot tub, bbq grill and spacious areas around the house to spend the time with your friends and relatives. Could be better: - WiFi connection is the worst amenity - The master bedroom mattress is extremely soft and that makes me feel uncomfortable. To future tenants: - Try to get there before dusk. Google Maps tells you arrived in some point just before the last "invisible" U-Turn. - I think the 4x4 is not a MUST, but you could need a high profile car like a SUV, your sedan could be hurt.

Amazing stay!

House was amazing, the whole place is beautiful! Super clean, beds were very comfortable, internet made our phones usable. Plenty of room for everyone too! Definitely an unbeatable mountain getaway! Will definitely be back.
