Maalaea Banyans 416 offers stunning ocean views and is a real charmer, making for the perfect Hawaiian retreat. You can enjoy your morning coffee while watching a whale breach, especially during the season, or turtles almost nightly right from your private lanai.

Ma'alaea Banyans is located in the peaceful village of Ma'alaea and is conveniently situated just 20 minutes from the airport, Kahului, Lahaina, Kihei, and more! However, you don't have to travel far to find fun shops and great restaurants. Ma'alaea Harbor is a five-minute walk around the corner and is the best place to book a snorkel tour to Molokini and Turtle Town, a sunset cruise, or a whale-watching trip! At Ma'alaea Harbor, you can also find shops, restaurants, and the Maui Aquarium. Additionally, close by, you'll find the Maui Golf & Sports Park with mini golf, bumper boats, X-treme trampoline, and rock climbing. The King Kamehameha Golf Resort is a short drive away, as is the Maui Tropical Plantation.

The complex features an oceanfront pool and is the only place in Ma'alaea with a hot tub! You have gated beach access, or you can take a short five-minute walk to Haycraft Park, where you can stroll along Sugar Beach for five miles. Sugar Beach is known for its soft white sand and is one of the best beaches on Maui. If you're lucky to visit during a strong South Swell, you can watch surfers flocking to the World Famous Ma'alaea Pipeline! You can grab a chair and head down to the beach to take it all in or enjoy the view from the comfort of your private lanai.

This 2-bedroom/2-bath condo is located on the top floor and has been tastefully updated. The living room features a cozy sofa, a flat-screen TV, and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that open to the lanai for indoor/outdoor living. You can enjoy dining while taking in the unparalleled views with seating for two. The kitchen is fully stocked for the chef of your family! Located on the first floor is the guest bedroom with two twin beds that can be converted to a king upon request, split AC, a flat-screen TV, and a ceiling fan. The guest bathroom is located off the hallway and has been nicely updated. The primary bedroom is located upstairs with a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom that features a double sink vanity and shower. There is a full-size washer and dryer for your convenience. This condo is perfect for couples and small families!

While the property strives to keep all photos up to date, there may be new and updated pieces of furniture or decor that are different than in the original pictures. The functionality, available seating, and sleeping space will remain the same or may improve.

Nice little place to stay

The place was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The view is beautiful, even saw some turtles. The only negative is it's windy all the time, couldn't really enjoy the outdoor.

Family Vaca

We stayed with you off the recommendation of my sister-in-law's visit with you. She was very happy with her stay overall which led to us booking and staying in the same location. Very clean and perfect location to watch the turtles play every morning and evening. Wish we had more accessible beach, but the short walk brought the same experience. Look forward to our next visit!

Awesome Location with Great Views

Wonderful apartment on the 4th floor with covered deck right on the water. Enjoyed watching the turtles and whales from the deck. A short walk to Maalea harbor for our snorkeling excursion and a 20 minute drive to Lahaina or Wailea. Had everything we needed in the kitchen and it was nice to have beach towels.

Quiet, pleasurable

Condo was well maintained and clean. Had most of all expected equipment and goods. Was a little surprised very little kitchen supplies, i.e. salt, pepper, some kind of oil, napkins, etc. were available. Location was great. Also, surprised at some of the stringent rules for guests.

Quiet Area

We loved how less busy this area is compared to Kihei and Lahaina. You are in the middle of the two and it worked great for our family. We were able to see turtles daily! Property and pool was well maintained at all times. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal and the beach chairs were a nice added bonus for our island excursions!

Beautiful and peaceful place to stay

We loved staying at the Ma’alaea Banyan! It’s a very quiet location in Maui away from the busy tourist areas. The condo was very clean, well-decorated, and had a lot of hooks and storage. The washer and dryer were such a blessing to have. The only problem we encountered was that the lock mechanism for the sliding glass door out to the balcony was missing. Hopefully it will be replaced soon. The condo property was clean and pleasant. There were sea turtles that came ashore every evening on the property. From the balcony we saw a rainbow, beautiful sunrises, and even a shooting star. This was a magical place and I would LOVE to stay in this condo again on our return visits to Maui!

What an amazing location

We LOVED our stay at this condo. It was beautiful! The finishes were so clean and high end. The shower made to look like a boat was so fun. The kitchen was fully equipped - and eating on the lanai was amazing. We loved watching the turtles come to the beach every evening and the sun setting. It was very secluded and away from tourist traps. But it was so easy to get everywhere on the island from here. I am going to recommend this location to anyone who is going to Maui. The earlier review that said this place was out dated and dirty is the exact opposite of what we saw. It was so clean - we didn't see any bugs until the day after they sprayed and then the bugs were all dead. This place was so clean and spacious. Great for a family.

2BR loft condo on the ocean

This 2 BR condo has been fully remodeled and is fresh beachy decor. Wishing there were more interior photos when I booked and the hallways are white dark so a bit off putting when we checked in but the staff and other vacationers overcame all fear by day 2. The walk along the strip of condos is ok- not views of the beach. Main floor bedroom has 2 twin beds (my husband and I put together for a king) a tv, plenty of storage and hangers- nearby clean bath with hot shower. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need and the views are fabulous! We watched whales and dolphin daily with the binoculars (thank you for providing!) the loft has a queen bed, shower, laundry and ample hang storage. A great pool and hot tub we used daily- saw sea turtles eating- just a great trip and the management company was fabulous!

Great Place to Stay

We loved our stay here! Besides the amazing view, our very favorite part was going down to the beach area (through the gate) at sunset to watch the turtles come to shore to rest/sleep. We counted 15 one night. What a wonderful surprise!!! The unit was nicely updated and very clean. We enjoyed the beach at the end of the road several times during our stay. We appreciated the beach towels, the 4 beach chairs, the cooler (and cold paks in the freezer for the cooler). Here are a couple things we give a thumbs down to: First, the air condition unit on the lanai gave off a LOT of heat so we weren't able to enjoy it much as it was way too hot to sit out there. Second, it would've been helpful if there were a few more supplies in the unit such as saran wrap/foil, oil for cooking, chip clips and a wine stopper. Oh, and it would've been nice if there was more seating, perhaps another comfy chair. These things would not stop us from coming back but thought we'd suggest it for future visitors. We already miss Maui. Thank you for letting us stay in this wonderful unit.

Breathtaking Views

The condo indeed had breathtaking views but lacked the alohoa spirit. There were turtles on the beach everyday! We were even blessed to see the Hawaiian monk seal on the beach as well. The condo was nicely stocked with essentials. We are early risers and were excited to walk down to the beach in the morning but quickly realized that unless you are on the ground floor, there is no beach access due to everything being locked and gated until after management unlocks it in the morning. Several interactions with the property management left us feeling like we were walking on eggshells. One interaction took when we arrived after a long flight. Our grandchildren were eager to play at the pool but after being told the 5 year old was being too loud we packed up and never did use the pool area as a family again. The close proximity of the pool area to the lower level condos might make this a less than ideal location for families with young children. In addition, be aware the wind blows a lot in this area. I had thought that we would have the same wind patterns as Kihei but that was not the case, the wind blows everyday all day. A beautiful condo with breathtaking views but the limited access to the beach and negative interactions with management kept us from feeling welcome and experiencing the aloha spirit.

An outdated, insect filled, low quality listing, DO NOT recommend

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was overwhelmingly disappointed with my experience here. I'm very surprised at the prior reviews for this unit - I think they may have been manufactured reviews. The only things great about the unit is the view and location. The unit looks nothing like it's advertised. Overall it looks very dingy. It needs a major repaint, and an update to furniture. The beds in the downstairs room are low quality cots with cheap mattresses on top. The A/C in the room makes a ton of noise, so good luck sleeping. And there is no blackout curtains, so light fills the room in the morning.We had a major insect problem. I've been to Maui plenty of times - while I understand tropical places may have insects, this was unacceptable. We were seeing 40-50 a day in the unit. There are holes in the netting of the screen door and windows, and the base boards need major caulking. We saw many insects come in and out of the wholes in flooring.I booked the place for a week, and all they provided was one small set of shampoo, soap, etc. Had to go buy my own after one day.When we first arrived, the unit wasn't in great condition. They told me it's because I bypassed inspection to receive an early check in, but I doubt some of the issues would have been caught otherwise. The balcony had dirt all over it, the bathroom tub and sink backed up so you showered in your own filth, and there were plenty of used, dirty kitchen utensils in the drawers. While they did clean the patio and fix the tub issue within one day, it makes you wonder how good the overall cleaning practices are.I have over 50 pictures of everything I mentioned above, and am happy to share them. I will also follow up to make sure this displays on the public review board so that other folks don't have to go through what my family did. If this doesn't show up, I will be sure to take further action to protect any future tenant from being misled like I was.

Amazing Condo!

We have two adult sons 18 & 19 so the four of us stayed here. The condo was beautiful and clean inside. The lanai was the best such cozy seating area! And the view was breathtaking! We have been to Maalae five times and by far this was our favorite place to stay! Would definitely come again!

Better than a resort!

Was a great option and one we enjoyed much better than staying at an insular resort. We had a phenomenal view and access to a great beach just down the street. The only down side was that our trip wasn't longer! The property is well-maintained and fully-stocked--we were able to cook and celebrate Thanksgiving. We would definitely stay here again.

Man muss sich bewusst sein, dass die Wohnung in der Einflugschneise des Flughafens liegt. In einem kleinen Ort, in dem es nicht viel gibt außer einem kleinen (recht teueren) Laden, für alles andere muss man fahren. Sauberkeit der Wohnung durchwachsen, überall Sand und die Böden schlecht geputzt, genauso wie die Bäder. Alles etwas in die Jahre gekommen, obwohl angeblich erst renoviert. Kaffeemaschine völlig verdreckt, genau wie Spül- und Waschmaschine (diese war völlig verschimmelt). Aber diese Wohnung lebt von ihrer Terrasse: toller Blick auf Meer, Vulkan, Palmen und viele Schildkröten. Netter Pool, viele Liegen, allerdings wenig Schatten, den gibt es erst ab Nachmittags. Alles in allem nett, aber in keinem Verhältnis zum Preis.

Excellent stay

My teen daughters and I stayed for a week. The condo was clean, bright, beachy and cool. We loved waking up to the ocean and stargazing at night from the balcony of this beautiful and quiet condo. It was the perfect central location to call home while we explored all parts of the island. We took a short walk to Ma’alaea harbor for a boat tour to Molokini with Maui Snorkeling Lani Kai. At sunset we BBQ’d and relaxed in the jacuzzi on the property. The condo was stocked with many great amenities but a cooler and grilling utensils would’ve been helpful. One downside is there’s no security presence on the property, anyone can access the elevator and stairs so we kept doors locked at all times, especially at night. Other than that, we would definitely stay here again.

Girl’s trip/retirement celebration!

We are a group of old college friends celebrating retirement in Hawaii. The place was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. Check in was a breeze. We appreciated the ease of coming and going with a code locked door rather than keeping track of a key. The place was quiet-we did not hear our neighbors. However the real highlight and treasure of this location and especially this unit, is the daily view of the sea turtles! There was always at least one large turtle out sunning itself on the beach and the surf held 20-30 turtles bobbing about. If you are looking for peace and quiet away for resort life, this is the place for you!

Wonderful quiet condo that felt like home

We really loved this condo and our stay. The location is a little bit windy but we appreciated how quiet it was and away from the crowds. When we wanted to eat out or shop it was just 10-15 mins to anything we needed. The photos are very accurate and the remodel is lovely. We did a lot of cooking after long days of adventures and the kitchen had everything we needed. My husband grilled at the community grill and it was clean and was the dad with a beer hang out. We enjoyed morning coffee and napping on the lanai. The beach is just a few minute walk—the beach was a bit windy but not crowded and miles of empty beach for long walks with my loves. There was a tropical storm during our stay and the surf outside the condo became a surfer’s paradise and we had the best view! The property manager Buzz was full of tips and suggestions. The pool and hot tub were lovely and we had it to ourselves many times. The shower in the master is wonderful and so was the washer and dryer. We had all the comforts of home. Just a delightful place. A few additions to the condo to take it from am A to an A+ would be a laundry basket, grilling utensils and upgraded linen a and pillows for the master.

Great unit, great location

Great vacation rental for a family stay in Maui! The view from the balcony can’t be beat by any other rental or hotel on the island. Central location makes getting to basically anything and everything on Maui a breeze. Not a lot of amenities to walk to, but lots of shopping and dining within a 15 minute drive and there’s a great mini-golf/entertainment park with food trucks that’s walkable that we didn’t know about in advance. A lot of snorkeling tours leave from the marina down the street so that’s very convenient. The unity itself has been recently renovated and is cute, functional, efficient and comfortable. The property has a small beach (where turtles sleep!) and a nice pool and hot tub. There’s a great public beach just down the street. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.
