We had a great time staying at this amazingly spacious home. The house was exceptionally clean and organized. The bathrooms and kitchen looked brand new. The backyard had a new hot tub, comfortable seating area, hammock and palm trees. It was surrounded by tall hedges that kept the backyard nice and private.

Convenient to the beach, cold AC. Well-stocked kitchen. Laundry facilities require you to go outside and around the house to a separate room. I found the communication response time to be lacking; the laundry room location and access code was missing from our check-in information, and it took over 12 hours to receive a response to a message about the matter (question sent around 8am, response received after 9pm).

Perfect little oasis for the holidays

My family and I were grateful to have this peaceful spot to crash during our stay over the holidays. We especially liked the Florida room on a breezy, rainy day to put our feet up and read! Everything in the house is lovingly maintained and comfortable, which is no small feat in Florida! Thank you, Amanda, for the accommodation! We would definitely return to stay here again.

Better than imagined

This was our first time staying at a VRBO, and it was a great one. The owner was great at keeping in touch, and answering questions. The location was right off of a main road, making it easy to get places. We gave the location link to our family that lives nearby so they can recommend it to other people that come to visit.

Excellent Stay!

Amanda was incredible, and the property is nicer than the photographs suggest. Brand new renovation, comfortable bedding, extremely clean, and digitally capable...the home is excellent for a family with 2 small kids like mine. Amanda was great during our stay. She was quick to respond when I accidentally locked us out of the place, and had a spare key on site for that exact reason. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Amanda!

First the good: The house was very nice with comfortable beds, a big kitchen, and a great hot tub. The space worked great for our family and we had a good stay. That said, lots of problems came up that didn’t ultimately mess up our time, but did create some hassle. Maybe it was just bad luck and if no other reviews raise similar concerns, I’d dismiss this myself and happily stay there again. But if others report similar problems, then I’d stay away. The HVAC set off an alarm when we turned it on, which was scary but ultimately may have been a false alarm. The drain for the bathtub didn’t work. The tub spout didn’t work either, so the shower dripped when the bath was running. Messages didn’t seem to work on the VRBO app so they didn’t get our pre-arrival messages we didn’t get the code to the laundry room when we arrived (it’s only accessible from outside). A notice was taped to the door during our stay citing the property for violating short-term rental laws. The saving grace for all of this was the excellent property manager, who promptly responded to text messages sent directly (not via the app) and dealt with every issue that came up. She sent repair people to fix the issues promptly and kept us updated. This was a great house, so hopefully we just had some bad luck that ultimately didn’t mess up our vacation anyway.

Beautiful Property

The house was exactly as pictured and spotless. Backyard was bigger than i expected and fenced all the way around. There were many amenities included. I had minor glitches in beginning but owner responded almost immediately and property manager came right over, he was very nice and fixed right away within half hour everything was perfect. The neighborhood is very nice and property is close to restaurants, stores, beaches and activities. Love exploring at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center!

Comfortable, basic property with nice backyard and sun porch

Property was very basic but nice. Quiet neighborhood. Had some issues with the locking mechanism on patio door but owner was responsive and offered to have someone come and fix it during our stay. Ice maker is quite loud and can be startling in the middle of the night when ice drops into bucket. We were also entertained by the sound of an animal (probably a lizard) jumping onto the roof and walking across it at night :)

Great location, poor resolutions of issues

Amanda was very communicative before booking and before our stay. She helped us extend our trip when our plans changed unexpectedly. The house is right off of Federal Highway near a ton of restaurants and coffee shops that are walkable. The renovations look really nice inside. That being said, when we arrived, there were thousands of tiny dead ants in every room of the house, and a ton walking around. I dont expect anything in FL to be bug-free, but someone should have checked in on the house between cleaning and our stay, since there clearly was an issue. When I brought it up to her and sent pictures, she apologized and said someone would come do more treatment, but no one ever showed up to help. The pest control needs to kill the colonies, not just the ants when they enter the house. I had to vacuum multiple times a day in all corners to control the amount of dead and live ants on my kids' and dog's feet. I should have asked for the cleaning fee back since I was cleaning the whole time we stayed, but it's too late now. The listing mentioned a hot tub, but it looked like it had not been used in a while. My husband messaged her about using it, but she didnt answer. I would have liked to stay again since we come down to see my grandparents a few times a year, but the lack of help during our stay for the issues we had wont bring me back.

Marelle, I’m sorry to hear about how frustrating the ants were. When I said I was sending someone to spray it was right after your stay as personally I would not want chemicals to be sprayed in a house as I was staying there. Right before your stay (and I think during) it was major downpours of rain which is what I believe caused the issue. Since you checked out we have sprayed and made sure they are gone. And about the hot tub, I did not see your message so my apologies there. Would love for you to give our house another try and the ants were never an issue until this one time. Thank you.

Property not as described and in seedy area!

After a long drive we attempted to enter the property and while the code we were given unlocked the bolt the handle was locked. We repeatedly attempted to reach the host and finally were able to get help with a spare key. The yard was unkept and hammock was covered in mildew but worst of all the jacuzzi was half full freezing cold and filled with yard debris and branches. When we complained to the host she offered a $25 refund which I said was not sufficient. On the second day there a large police bust occurred at the adjacent hotel complex which is less than a block away and this involved at least 8 police cars and more than 20 people being led away in handcuffs. The worst part is that once the host did refund some of our money she unceremoniously kicked us out a day earlier than our 6 night stay while I was attending a work event in the middle of the day. I contacted her to discuss it but she was rude and abrupt saying you have to leave because I have another guest arriving. My poor husband who just had a shoulder operation for a compound fracture inside his shoulder joint is now at the property trying to load all our things into the car including our dog while I’m finishing my work event. What a horrible and inhumane way to treat a guest and what a poorly handled mess. We are property owners and investors in addition to working full time and we have never allowed our properties to be in such disrepair or thrown a guest out prematurely. Garbage property and garbage host!
