Welcome to La Posada Mountain Retreat

When you book a stay with us, you are not just booking a stay you are booking an experience of a lifetime. Our views are the ultimate best in all of Utuado. We are not like other stays, we offer VIP tours directly from the property making your stay that more special. All of our guests leave happy for a reason and we want you to be able to enjoy as much as possible and experience the best of what our town has to offer.

Your Stay is in a spacious 3 Bedroom 2 bath pristine house centrally located in the heart of Puerto Rico. If desired you can rent the lower unit a charming 1/1 unit. Together both units can comfortably sleeping up to 8-9 people. The house alone can comfortably sleep 6 persons. The elevation of the property is approximately1800ft up so the nights and mornings get very cool. You will feel right at home with features like Quiet seating areas, Full kitchen, Dining Room, Outdoor Patio Bar, and many more amenities to make your trip extra special.
*** Just added brand new heated Infinity pool overlooking the mountains and city below.
The house is located in the barrio of Roncador and it is within a short distance to the Indian Ceremonial Grounds, rivers, and waterfalls. Beaches and shopping outlets are located within 30 mins.

The space
The House features 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. The Large Cozy house features breathtaking Mountain View’s, a Smart TV with Satellite TV, A full Fridge with Freezer and a Stove/Oven. The apartment which is an additional price has a one bedroom one bathroom sleeps up to 2-3 with a pull out sofa and a mini kitchen .

Guests can enjoy the large patio areas or relax in the new heated pool. The covered porch has an outdoor bar seating space to enjoy the gorgeous views. The property is located on 3 acres with a garden you may pick fresh fruit from. Along with stables & peacocks, truly a beautiful spot.
A Great bed & breakfast home to enjoy the Puerto Rico weather all year long.

NOTE - We offer private VIP tours including fresh water fishing packages, Tanamá river cave tour & horse back riding packages. If you want a private massage on site that can also be arranged. For more information please inquire.

Jose and Christine go above and beyond for the comfort of their guests. You feel 100% at home every time. We only had 4 days this time, but we thoroughly enjoyed every second. It’s a climb to the top of the mountain, to the house, but worth it.

A magical good vibes place. Jose and Christine are beyond exceptional hosts. We enjoyed every minute with them, with their private tours and greeting. Top Notch. The views are unparalleled, pool was fabulous and the kids loved it. We cant wait to return to stay with them, thankful they are sharing their special retreat. Incredible views and even more incredible hosts who are the definition of the word hospitality. Jose and Christine went above and beyond to make our experience in Utuado special for our family. Wonderful property for our family with ample space and amenities both inside and out. We enjoyed spending our afternoons and evenings on the porch taking in the peace and serenity of the mountains after spending our mornings out on excursions. The tour they personally conducted for us was amazing at showing us some hidden gems and seeing the real Puerto Rico!

Beautiful and unique location

We had an amazing time here! Incredible location, and the very friendly and helpful hosts provided clear directions for finding the house and checking in. The pool was great, the various patios were relaxing, and the view is indescribable. Lovely property with a variety of animals (horses, goats, peacocks, cats, etc) that the kids and I enjoyed meeting

Absolutely the best way to really experience the heart of PR!

After spending a few days in old San Juan, we wanted to truly see the heart of the island in the second half of our trip…staying with a Christine and Jose was the perfect way to do so. The property is just as listed, only you cannot see the extent of the beauty in pictures only. Just unreal… We did an awesome river and cave tour with Jose and Christine and were introduced to locals and felt very comfortable in Utuado. I was a bit intimidated by the mountain roads, but my husband caught on in a day or so and actually loved driving - much more fun than Ohio farmland drives, lol. Best advice - make yourself at home, and don’t be afraid to explore! Jose and Christine have your back if you have any problems or questions. Our kids can’t wait to come back to PR, and next time, they want to skip San Juan! They also got to spend time with Jose and Christine’s son Cayden, and had a blast. La Posada was exactly what we were looking for on this trip, and more!

Best mountain get away!

Can not recommend this place enough. When you stay here you are not just getting a home to stay in…but an extended family that go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and show you beautiful Utuado. I have never ever stayed in a vrbo that has gone so above and beyond. We will be back!!!

Amazing view from the pool!

Hosts were very welcoming and helpful when it come to finding the property. Excellent property felt right at home, plus cant stress enough the view from the pool and side patio area. The view of the valley in the mornings and afternoon are breathtaking. Will not be our last time booking here, they are adding a wine tasting bar on site thats being worked on now. Can't wait to come back and see it done. Owners were very respectful while our stay there, was very quite and peaceful. Thanks to the owners for sharing there awesome property.

The best family vacation ever

We came to Puerto Rico for a family vacation. It was my husband and I along with 3 young adult family members. I cannot say enough about how beautiful this place is. When you wake up in the morning to the sunrise and the clouds above the mountain you feel like you are in another world. The heated pool was perfect for swimming anytime of the day. Jose and Christine are the nicest hosts I have ever had. They were in contact before we arrived to make sure we had directions and answered any questions. Once we arrived, they gave us many ideas and options for restaurants and activities around the island. My daughter went on a horse riding excursion arranged by them, which she said was in the top 10 experiences of her life. The next day Jose and Christine took us to a local watering hole with a waterfall that was like no where I have ever seen. Hanging out with them was like hanging out with friends from home. The house has so many porches and areas you can relax and see beautiful views of the mountain. Do not miss the opportunity to stay in this home. It is a 10/10 experience. One of our daughters has special needs, and they were so accommodating to helping us plan activities that she could enjoy as well.

A Peaceful Retreat with Beautiful Views and Great Potential

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this peaceful mountain retreat. The journey to the property involves some winding roads, but the breathtaking views upon arrival made it worthwhile. The natural surroundings and vibrant flora provided a perfect backdrop for relaxation.Our sons were thrilled with the horseback riding experience, and we appreciated the advance notice regarding the need for prior riding experience. The hosts, Jose and Christine, are actively enhancing the property, including developing the stables and surrounding area.The heated outdoor pool offered a relaxing way to unwind while taking in the scenery. Inside, the spacious layout, pool table, and well-stocked kitchen added to our comfort.While the kitchen and bathrooms are functional, they could benefit from some updates. Additionally, the twin bedroom had some clutter in the closet, and the mattresses were less comfortable than expected.Overall, we had a wonderful time and believe that with continued updates and organization, this property will become an even more exceptional place to relax and enjoy nature!

Perfect location with amazing views and hosts

I can’t say enough great things about this rental. The views were spectacular and if you’re okay with an hour or so drive, it’s a central location to almost everything we wanted to do. Christine and Jose were so warm and helpful, they truly made our trip that much more special. They provided tons of recommendations for spots to visit and places to eat. They always seemed to be there when we needed something but we also felt like we practically had the place to ourselves. Hoping to be back again one day.

Magical place to stay

We had the most amazing time at Jose and Christine’s house! The location was truly amazing., I can’t describe it in words and the photos can’t even do it justice ! They were such amazing hosts and were 100% available for any questions or advice . They even helped to organize a fishing outing with minimal notice for my son’s birthday. The house was perfectly maintained and everything you could need or expect was there. My family and I will remember our time there forever and we would love to return! Thank you so much!!

Little slice of paradise

Jose and Christine truly have a little slice of paradise in the mountains of Puerto Rico. The property is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous views. My entire family loved seeing the horses, the peacocks, the chickens, and the little goat. The home was a perfect size for a family of four in the pool with the beautiful sunrises were incredible. We were truly felt like we were at a home away from home and felt extremely welcomed by the hosts. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and greet us. They were always accessible if we needed anything. For us, two nights was perfect in order to experience the mountains of Puerto Rico and be able to fully appreciate the beauty of this island! (we did stop at a grocery store on our way there in order to have some food in our refrigerator. The kitchen was fully equipped with an oven, microwave, etc). Thank you so much Jose and Christine… we hope to see you again!

The view

The view was absolutely incredible! The drive up the mountain was also an experience in itself. Winding narrow roads but they open up in spots that would make a good photo op. However, we weren’t expecting anyone to be living at the property. But Jose and Christine were more than willing to send us Information about the area and things to do and places to go eat.

AMAZING!!!!!!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about the property and the hosts. Jose and Christine were AMAZING. They allow you privacy but are VERY attentive to any needs and always have excellent recommendations for activities and restaurants. The house was clean and inviting, and the views were BREATHTAKING!!!! Our teenagers LOVED the pool, pool table, and the animals on the property. We will be back!

Excellent location up in the mountains!

Property was as expected based on the pictures. We really enjoyed spending time in the pool and hanging out on the deck. There were a number of farm animals just a few steps away that our daughter really enjoyed checking on and seeing every day.

View from on top of the world!

The property and hosts were amazing. The view from the bedroom windows and the pool can't be beat. The drive up and down the mountain is a little scary and I wouldn't attempt it after dark but it was so worth it. Christine and Jose, Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us!

Beautiful Location

Beautiful spot in the mountains. A little tough to get to with directions. I agree that initial drive should be done there in the daytime. The pool is very clean and relaxing. The family/ hosts are wonderful people ready to help any way possible. Noise sensitive people should bring ear plugs. The chickens and peacocks wake up pretty early;) Other than that a really tranquil, lovely place.

A lovely second stay in Utuado

This was our second stay and Jose and Christine’s place. The views do not get old. The hosts are so friendly and helpful and took care of a hot water issue 5 minutes after we raised it. We had a great time in the pool and exploring the mountains. We will definitely be back.

So beautiful

House is about a 20 min drive up the mountain from Utuado. We spent our last 2 days in PR there with my husband and 3 little kids. The house is surrounded by breathtaking beauty and views of the surrounding area. Extremely quiet and peaceful. Fruit trees all around. Heated infinity pool was lovely. Beautiful stars at night. Spotted a Puerto Rican lizard cuckoo in the backyard. Easily one of the top 10 most beautiful places I’ve stayed. Hosts were just lovely. Hope I get to come back another time.

Amazing Views and Property
