TONS TO DO IN THE AREA!!!! Where to begin, we fell in love with this area because of the magnificent natural beauty. Waterfalls everywhere (even one you can walk to from our front door) zip lining, mountain roller coaster, swimming/boating in the stunning lake (which also has 3 waterfalls), hiking, exploring quaint towns (examples:the upscale towns of Cashiers and Highlands are10-15 minute drive from house), antiquing, and simply basking in the beauty of the North Carolina mountains where you can cozy up to a fire for s'mores every evening.
Fun things to do by season:
Spring: There's still a chill in the air but the flowers and greenery are starting to fill in. This is a wonderful time to go horseback riding , kayaking, hiking, zip-lining or day tripping to Asheville (home to the famous Biltmore and only 1 hour away) , Brevard (funky college town 40 minutes away) and a ton of other cute towns in the area. Seasonal Festivals include the world- class music of the Bear Shadow Music Festival and Meander in May, both fun events are held in the nearby town of Highlands.
Summer: When the weather gets warm and the flowers are in full bloom.... this is heaven. You will never want to leave. The list of things-to-do is never ending, but save time to lay around in the hammock and read a good book while you enjoy the view of the lake and the mountains beyond. Our very own Lake Glenville - just a 5 minute walk down the hill --features three waterfalls. If you opt to pay for the club membership ($350.00 per week for your goup) amenities include paddle-board, kayak or canoe rentals for small fee. They are usually available, based on my experience. Also you can rent a boat which requires a call a few days ahead-- more on holidays- and spend the day on a pontoon boat (fits up to 12) exploring the waterfalls. Then there is tubing down the river, white water rafting (easy - we take our 6 year old) and all those waterfall hikes where you can jump in and cool off- too much to do:) To make your vacation easier - details for all our favorite places are included in our welcome letter! With all the fun stuff to do it will be hard to pry yourself out of the cozy Tree Top in the evening but if you can muster it Friday's-must-do is the Music on the Green, outdoor concerts located just a few minutes away in downtown Cashiers. Bring a picnic, a blanket and your friends and family to enjoy world-class music in a beautiful setting. And don't forget Trillium country club guest passes available ($275 for 3 days $350.00 per week ) allowing you to enjoy all the fun activities scheduled during the summer. Like: Golf (fees sep.), pickle ball, tennis, marina, croquet, restaruant etc.
-Fall: Nature's golden hour. The autumn leaves gift you with stunning vistas at every turn. Hiking, horseback riding at Arrow head ranch and zip-lining at Highlands Aerial Park are beautiful this time of year. The fishing is still good and the towns are dressing up for the holidays. Leaf people will treasure nature's golden hour and the fall festivals cannot be missed, they include: Highlands Porch Fest Music festival 9/18 (app), Cashiers leaf festival 10/7-10/9 (app), Halloween 10/31 a ton of fun for kids of all ages in downtown Highlands, and Highlands Food and Wine festival 11/10-11/13 (app). And we must mention the Apple Orchards near historic Hendersonville- a one hour day trip that will delight the whole family. So many orchards to choose from but Grandad' Apples, Jeeter Mountain Apple Orchard, and Sky Top are a few of the best offering apple picking, pumpkin patch, hay rides, apple cannons, apple cider donuts and slushies, corn maze, animal farms and tons of fall fun. Once you're done at the farm, head over to Hendersonville and spend the afternoon enjoying this picturesque town famous for hosting the Apple Festival every Labor Day.
-Winter: When the weather gets chilly its time for hot cocoa, board games and cozy fires by the wood burning fireplace in the family room. But don't get too cozy, there is still plenty of adventure to be had outside. First off, the Saphire Ski Resort located 15 minutes up the road opens for snowy fun. This is a basic ski resort but still a delight. They have great sledding and tubing which guarantee a good time for all. In the nearby posh town of Highlands (15 minutes), there is the Light up the Park and Snow Fest at 4118 – both held at the Kelsey Hutchinson foundation park. You can expect ice-skating rink, snow slides, snowball fights, s'mores, merry go-round, Santa visits and lots of fun shopping for gifts and treats. Of course we cannot forget the Biltmore Christmas spectacular. With Asheville just an hour away, a day trip is required this time of year to bask in the glory of the Biltmore mansion dressed in her Holiday Splendor.

Acerca de su propietario/a
Propietario/a: Diane Hernandez Valois
Hi we are the Valois family- Diane and Cristian, parents, and Sophia and Chloe are our children. We have been renting homes on the shores of Lake Glenville for a decade. We fell in love with it on our very first visit and we are now proud owners of the Tree Top. A majestic mountain home with beautiful lake views offering you luxurious accommodations in the heart of Trillium Village - an outdoor paradise for young and old alike. We are proud of the Tree Top. We hope you love it as much as we do and enjoy making lifetime memories with your loved ones.
Por qué escogió este alojamiento
When we were purchasing a home in Cashiers, we took our time, and looked at over 50 properties. Tree Top had a magical quality unlike any other house we looked at. You'll understand when you walk across the bridge and look out at the majestic view and then walk inside the great room and settle onto a cozy leather couch inside the knotty pine cabin imbued with a serene warmth that begs you to slow down and enjoy some well deserved mountain time. And in the summer of 2027, when you purchase the Trillium guest passes - you will enjoy the new heated pool, Jacuzzi, and restaurant just down the hill a five minute walk or a two minute drive. The Marina is also there and your guest passes allow you to rent boats, paddle boards and canoes.
Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial
Coming in at 6 bedrooms and 5 baths Tree Top is larger than most other rental homes. This allows two or three families and multi generations to stay together but still have space for privacy and pondering. The house is large and spread out so it accommodates many people yet offers cozy nooks where you can settle in and relax with a good book or a nap. The two large terraces have the most amazing views of the smoky mountains and Lake Glenville. And if you're feeling active, head out the front door to the Chapel hike where you will end at Mule Kickin' falls (signage on street for the falls). If you choose to opt for Trillium guest passes, then you will also have access to the Trillium restaurant at the clubhouse, and the Lakefront Landings restaurant- right down the hill (open summer 2027) guest passes also include: access to golf, boat rentals , gym, pickleball, tennis etc.. There is so little and so much to do it is simply up to you.
