Wonderful location, close to downtown highlands without feeling like it. The house was wonderful, cozy, clean, plenty of space for 3 families with kids. Lots of room outdoors for everyone to enjoy. The kitchen was very well stocked. Communication with the renter was easy ans they were very responsive. The local property manager was very helpful and even found my son's shoe we left and mailed it to me. Would 100% recommend and we will stay again!

Beautiful forest setting

The home is gorgeous and appointed with absolutely everything we needed and wanted. It was our first visit to Highlands, and this house was a luxurious home base from which to explore. We loved our stay and hope to visit again in spring to see the rhododendrons.

The best!!

We had the BEST week at this house!! The property was absolutely incredible!! Well stocked, the comfiest beds, the cleanest house, the best amenities, and overall the greatest experience with a rental! We will definitely be back!

Oldies Family Reunion

Our group of “Oldies” totally enjoyed our stay. Not only is the property beautiful, but it is well stocked. The drive to downtown is less than two minutes which is extremely convenient. Thank you for a lovely time in Highlands.

The perfect mountain retreat!

We had such a wonderful time in Highland NC & this house was a large part of that. It was a comfortable & functional home with lots of places to gather & enjoy each others company. We would definitely rent this home again!

Wonderful house and great location!

The house and property you are located just minutes from downtown Highlands and easy drive to Cashiers in surrounding areas. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need for preparing mealsand there’s plenty of space for everyone to spread out in the remaining part of the house. The linens and towels are all very nice and the decor is very updated. we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our visit.

Highlands beautiful home

The home, grounds and location were all superb. We could easily cook, play games and relax. Plenty of space for everyone! The management were very attentive to all of our needs.

Definitely going back

This was the best property we have ever stayed at. It felt like a home with so many little touches that made a huge difference- extra blankets, spices, a great coffee maker, lots of rooms to hang out in. The home is gorgeous, has something for everyone, and the communication was excellent. We are already trying to figure out when we can . go back!

Back to Highlands

We recently sold our family vacation home in Highlands that we had for about 50 years. We were scouting for a property that would work even when we had a larger family gathering. Just 5 of us went up and every single individual just loved this property. The house is very large with beautiful rustic decor. The multiple bedrooms across three separate floors affords great privacy. The kitchen and laundry were incredibly stocked well beyond anything we've seen at this type rental. Great outdoor covered area with stone fireplace that can accomodate 10-15 people easily. We'll be back for sure.

Absolutely gorgeous home and property

Such a beautiful and peaceful place. The home is exquisite and had everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay. No detail was overlooked-truly a stunning and welcoming home. We greatly enjoyed hearing the stream while sitting on the porch and my toddler loved feeding the fish and exploring this beautiful property. We were happy staying in, but the home is very conveniently located to town. Already planning our next stay. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

Great nature

Beautiful house with lots of room. For large families I would recommend to provide more shampoo and cleaning supplies. I would also recommend to provide more cleaning for those guest that bring pet. We experienced lots of dog hair all over 1st floor

Amazing getaway!

We had such a wonderful experience with this property! Before arrival our questions were all answered very quickly, and the house was beautiful. It was stocked with everything we could ever need, and then some! The house felt very clean, except for animal hair on some of the rugs but we live with animals so it didn’t bother us. I’m only mentioning to justify my 4 out of 5 stars. My family consists of my husband and I and our 3 little kids, and my mom and dad were with us as well. There was plenty of space for all of us, a wonderful little nook for my two older kids to sleep in, and lots of games for us to play on rainy days! Overall I can’t say enough great things about the property and the entire process!

New Years getaway ….brrrrrr

This was our second stay at this lovely home. The set up is perfect for our family of nine. This year the weather was very cold and unfortunately we had a hard time staying warm! The heat is not well regulated for extreme cold! You need some electric blankets downstairs & in bedroom up the narrow staircase. The heat is not adequate in those areas. At night the temp did not get above 59 downstairs! We always come to Highlands this time of year so we fully expect cold weather but we have never had an issue staying warm in a rental house. There was a space heater downstairs but we did not feel safe leaving it on while our children slept. This was our only complaint. Every other need was met right down to the high chair and pack and play that was available for us to use! The kitchen was fully stocked and the bathrooms were updated ….we never ran out of hot water! Always a plus!

Gathering for Family Wedding

We thought this would be the ideal property for our family to gather for our daughter's wedding, so we paid a premium for the accommodations. While the house is spacious & well equipped, a major problem occurred on Day 1 of our 4 day stay, which negatively impacted the balance of our stay. The 2nd floor bathtub leaked into the 1st floor bedroom right into our open luggage. Our suitcases & contents were sopping wet, as was the carpet in the room. We spent Day 2 washing all of our clothes and re-preparing them for the wedding. The wet rug smelled terribly throughout our stay. No remedy was offered during our stay. While the owners' gesture of a gift basket on our departure day was appreciated, it paled in comparison to the inconvenience caused by the leak. We requested a refund commensurate with the inconvenience, but the owners did not respond. If these problems had not occurred, we would have given this property 5 star ratings as it is a lovely property for a family gathering.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The house was so clean and inviting upon our arrival and the owners were very responsive to any questions. A family favorite was the outdoor fireplace, it was so cozy. The short drive downtown was also a nice perk. We are definitely hoping to come back and stay again!

The perfect rental

We can’t say enough wonderful things about this property. We’ve rented many places in the area over the years and this was hands down the best experience we’ve had. Our group consisted of 4 families—8 adults and 9 children ranging from 1-6 years old. It rained the entire time we were there (really….the entire time), but we were totally fine keeping everyone entertained indoors! Each family had their own area so we didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. The main group spaces were perfect for hanging out, with enough space for the kids to spread out. The kids had a blast in the playroom and on the screened in porch. Having built-in baby gates and a high chair were extremely helpful as well! The kitchen was fully stocked and then some. All of this plus the location make this property one of a kind. You can tell the home was built around a family who likes to spend time together and entertain! We cannot wait to come back and get to use all of the outdoor features too!
