Book your winter getaway to beautiful big sandy.

Big Sandy Retreat is your home away from home! Newly built 3-bedroom, 3 bath, beautifully appointed home with a view that will leave you spellbound.
The home features a gourmet kitchen with all of the essential cooking supplies.
Main floor full bath, comfy sofa to hang out and watch a movie or just look at the lake. Upstairs you will find a daybed and cozy chair along with a full-size washer and dryer. Huge master bedroom with double sinks in bathroom alongside a roomy shower.
The covered porch off the master is a great place to have your morning coffee! The other 2 bedrooms upstairs have queen beds plus twin bed to use. All bedrooms are supplied with lovely linens and extra if needed.
Enjoy sipping coffee or a cocktail while enjoying 130 feet of the Big Sandy shoreline. Area fishermen call this lake a great sport fishery. Boasting with 20 species of fish, so there is something for every angler! Being over 6,520acres and 59 miles of shoreline makes it an amazing reactional lake. You can travel by boat to thee many restaurants on the lake. Many of them have live music in the summer. Our dock has plenty of room for your boat. Or just relax on your own beach with plenty of outdoor seating, firepit and a hammock! In the winter enjoy ice fishing, snowmobiling or just snuggling up in a warm house with a view!
In case of a rainy day, the house has a 50" TV and plenty of games/puzzles to keep you entertained. If you enjoy shopping, check out McGregor or Aitkin for some cute shops as well as good eats. House has a ring doorbell and outside security cameras as well as security lights for your safety.

The check-in was seamless - we arrived a little early but happily enjoyed the lake views and flowers that were blooming. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed and more; kitchen, bathrooms, games and puzzles! Big Sandy is a beautiful and clean lake, the beach was all sand. The weather did not cooperate with us but because of the space, amenities and covered porches we had a great family vacation!! Also, the sunsets were amazing!!!

Wonderful stay

This was our children’s first cabin experience and it set the bar pretty high. The property is a very nice modern cabin with a nice beach, and fantastic views. We had a great time and hope to return.

Definitely coming back!

We stayed at this property for an annual girls weekend and it was an amazing place to stay. Nice and clean, well stocked with essentials, and perfect location on the lake!

Stay overall was good. Nice beach and house. There was only 1 working tv in the house and the furniture-especially the couch-was not comfortable. A man showed up to cut the grass while we were outside-would have been nice to have a heads up.

Perfect short getaway

Our family recently stayed here for a couple of nights and it was an amazing and perfect short getaway! The home is beautiful, spacious, and well stocked. The backyard was peaceful and felt very private. We would love to return in the future and stay even longer.

We loved this vacation home! We stayed for a family vacation with 2 toddlers. They loved the toy room with an abundance of kids toys and activities. The beach was great for them, would have been better if weather cooperated! Thanks for sharing your beautiful clean home home with us!

Great location - beautiful home

Great getaway in the lake - beautiful - comfortable home. Reason for 4 stars is Main bedroom sheets had hair and sand upon arrival so I had to change them. And washer/dryer room smelled like cigarette smoke. But everything else was clean and comfortable.

Excellent Lake Property

Home is wonderful. Lake front is about as good as it gets, awesome. Excellent lake. Only issue we almost had was the narrow driveway and not much room to turn around. I have a 20ft boat, don't think you could make it with anything bigger. We almost brought a pontoon, glad we didn't. Other than that everything was great, will keep this property as a possibility for next year.

It was a very relaxing week with the Family! Only downside is blinds in the master bedroom would of been a plus at times. Not taking away from the beautiful sunrises though;). Fishing was good so that is even better…

Beautiful and comfortable home on Big Sandy!

This home is amazing for a get together with friends! We all loved our stay! The space is open and clean with enough room for spreading out! The beds were comfy, the bathrooms had all that we needed. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking large meals for our group! Megan was so helpful with recommendations for groceries and dining. We can’t wait to go back this summer when we can play on the lake. I highly recommend this beautiful getaway! Perfect for friends and families with kiddos! Thank You!

Weekend getaway for New Year's Eve

We had a wonderful long weekend at this property for new year's eve. The house had all of the amenities that we needed for 6 adults. It would also work well for those guests who have children. We iced fish and enjoyed board games inside. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of our meals. The space was very comfortable for 6 people. The house was very clean. Property was very easy to find and check-in was easy. Overall I would recommend this for anyone looking for a nice getaway trip.

Beautiful Property

We had a wonderful time! The kitchen is fully equipped and supplies stocked. We unfortunately didnt have great weather but there were lots of games, puzzles and action figures to keep our son occupied when it rained. We caught perch, northern and crappies off the dock. FYI-If you are planning on bringing a bigger boat, the road and driveway are a bit narrow. We had a 16ft boat so it wasn't an issue. Thanks for a relaxing week!

A memorable weekend!

We loved this cabin, the lake and area! This was our first trip to Big Sandy Lake and we hit the jackpot. So much to do on the lake with the restaurants, sand bar, swimming, fishing! Cabin was perfect for our family of 6. The only thing to note is the top bunk beds aren’t available to use, my kids were a little bummed about that. The small Road to the cabin is tight - we brought a 22 foot boat and we could fit and turn around in the cabin driveway, but my husband is experienced and comfortable pulling boats, for someone who isn’t they may have a hard time. Cabin was equipped with fun toys/games, and everything you would need for the week. We hope to be back and would love the opportunity to stay at this cabin again. Thanks for sharing your beautiful spot.

Ice fishing trip

A couple friends and I stayed here for a getaway weekend plus some ice fishing. The location is beautiful and pretty secluded. Sunrise and sunsets were fun to watch. A four wheel drive vehicle may not be required but I was definitely happy to have a truck because the final 1.5 miles entering the property are plowed but very snow packed with some hills. We had trouble with the door code upon arrival but Megan was very helpful and responsive with that and it was our only issue of the weekend. Will definitely consider this place again for a future vacation.

Family vacation

Megan was a very attentive and helpful property manager. She provided us with check in information on the morning we were expected to arrive. She responded to concerns we had during our stay in a prompt and professional manner, we appreciated her help. The house was gorgeous, a few things were being finished including the fireplace, furnishings, some electrical and painting, as well as new sod in the front yard. However, none of that took away from how wonderful the property was and the location on Big Sandy Lake was unbeatable. A public boat access was available one mile from the property and the dock had plenty of space for our boat. The beach is sandy, and the water is shallow, great for kids, we had a 3yo and 8yo with us. Plenty of parking on site. Overall, this was an amazing place on an even more amazing lake. Would recommend!
