Historical Darien Cottage

Fully remodeled 2 bedroom 1 bathroom home with a private porch overlooking the beautiful live oaks in the peaceful Columbus Square Park. This home was originally built in 1940 and has been fully restored and remodeled. Guests can take advantage of the fully stocked kitchen, new appliances, tv is streaming services only, and all of the necessities to enjoy a relaxing vacation.

Take a quick 5 minute walk to the Main Street of Downtown Darien with shops & restaurants which offer an amazing view of the river. Don’t forget to try the fresh, famous seafood and oysters at Skipper’s Fish Camp! All of the historic treasures in Darien, including Fort King George, Waterfront Park, The Old Jail and Art Museum, Butler’s Plantation and so many more are only a short drive away! Soak up the sun on St. Simons Island, or experience the wildlife on Jekyll Island. Take a ferry ride and watch the wild native horses run the beaches of Sapelo Island, or have a day out on the town and walk the infamous cobblestone streets of Savannah, Georgia, all of which are just a quick 30-35 minutes away!

A family gathering

The cottage was ideal for the two of us. It is adorable! Had all the things we needed in the kitchen. It is in a great location to see family on SSI and also enjoy the town of Darien The Lunch Box is an awesome place to eat for lunch. Thanks for allowing us to stay at Moss Cottage!

LOVED this home.

This place was clean, comfortable, very well decorated, and easy to find. It's in a picturesque, quiet area with a beautiful park near by. The hosts were great to chat with before and made the process so easy. We commented several times that this is the place we'll stay at again when we return!

This is the second time staying here. Perfect place to stay when visiting Darien. The hosts are awesome and very accommodating. Would highly recommend. We will definitely be booking in the future.

Beautiful, comfy, renovated cottage in the town of Darien.

Really enjoyed our short stay here while visiting Darien. Owners were very responsive and made check in and check out easy. We could walk to most shops and restaurants and was just a short distance to the river. House was very comfy and clean, they did a great renovating and we would definitely love to stay again.

Perfect weekend getaway

This cottage is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay during Blessing of the Fleet Festival. The cottage was exactly as described. It was clean and welcoming after a long drive.

Perfect little place!

Great little place, steps away from Columbus Square and a short walk to the waterfront. The house was spotless, cozy, and the perfect size for my adult daughter and me. Had great interactions with the hosts. Would love to stay again sometime.

Quaint little cottage

It was a perfect place for this mama and two teens. Small but spacious enough. Had everything we needed and it was top notch clean. The couch is so comfortable!! We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

Thoroughly updated home, quiet neighborhood

Its an older home, but completely updated. The neighborhood is very quiet, with little traffic. Its a pleasant 10 minute walk to the river through a couple of squares, one featuring a nice fountain.Each time i had questions, the host responded. in just a few minutes

We recently moved to Darien and fell in love with this quant town, the history and nature around us. We decided to enbark on buying a small home in downtown Darien that we ourselves have completely renovated and brought back to life. We hope to have others come enjoy our home and the quantness of our cute little town.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

This property is small but filled with tons of character, cozy and relaxing. Plus we are in walking distance of downtown Darien filled with restaurants, a wine bar, a speak easy, antique shop's, beautiful churches and parks! Plus we are less than a 30 minute drive to St.Simons Island, Sea Island and Jekyll, 45 minute drive to Savannnah or a short ferry ride to Sapelo Island.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The house was built in 1940 and we've tried to stay close to its oringial character from when it was built. Lots of nautal wood, original wood floors and a cozy back porch over looking Columbus Park.
