It is located on a quite flat area. There is a part of the universities, the international “Cité Scolaire”, the Tony Garnier Hall where there are many shows and concerts, the Parc de Gerland. The Rhone banks offer a very pleasant walk, where cyclists, rollerbladers, joggers and walkers meet themselves by night and day!
The famous places are :

- Stade Gerland
- Sports hall of Lyon Palais des sports de Lyon
- Castle La Motte
- Lyon-III University
- The Ecole Normale Supérieure of Lyon
