Cozy Berkshire cottage with fireplace.

Relax at this unique, tranquil getaway. Minutes from all the Berkshires' offer; Tanglewood, Bousquet and Jiminy Peak ski resorts, museums, Colonial and Barrington Theater, Shakespeare and Co, Naumkeag, and many more. Conveniently located on the Pittsfield/Lenox line, close to many restaurants and shopping areas but tucked into the woods with hiking trails on the property. Our kitchen has all your cooking essentials. We have smart TV's and WIFI to relax with after your Berkshire adventures.
The South Mountain House is a cozy one level with a nice open flow from the front driveway through the house to your own private back patio. Three bedrooms, one queen, one full, and one twin. The couch doesn't pull out but it's very comfortable. The house sits on 9.5 acres all for your enjoyment. There are cleared paths behind the house that you are encouraged to explore; from the patio, to the orchards, the fire pit to the boulders, there is plenty to do in this home away from home.
The South Mountain House has a big driveway with plenty of free parking. The house is conveniently located in the center of the Berkshires close to shopping centers, Pittsfield downtown and Lenox downtown. 1 mile to Pittsfield country club and golf, 6 miles to Tanglewood, 2.8 miles to Bousquet Ski Resort, 13 miles to Stockbridge, 14 Miles to Jiminy Peak Ski Resort and 19 miles to Great Barrington. Pittsfield has Uber for those nights you want to go out on the town with no worries.

This was a wonderful rental property. We found it as described in the listing, and loved it even more in person. Communication with the owner was very prompt every time. Home was well-appointed, warm, clean and private. Would definitely rent again if available.

Private and comfortable

This is a comfortable cottage. It’s not fancy but that’s ok. The location served us well (close to family we were visiting) and was close to Pittsfield, Lenox, and Stockbridge. It’s close to the Balderdash Winery and Shaker Village…good spots to visit. There was a neat trail up the mountain in the back of the home.

House and property were beautiful, well stocked and perfectly situated close to everything but also quiet and scenic. Owner was fantastic to deal with. She was helpful and accommodating, even had a sweet card and little gift to welcome us. Would definitely stay here again!!

Perfect girls weekend!

We had a wonderful experience- house was clean and very comfy with all the amenities. Hosts went out of their way both before and during our stay to provide information and make sure all our needs were met! We enjoyed relaxing in the house and the location was also very close to many great Berkshires sights!! Highly recommend this listing!

Very nice place - great location and amenities!

Cozy is in the description and it is very apt. Very comfortable, great location. Easy to get to anywhere in the Berkshires. Plenty of parking. We didn't get a chance to hike the trails behind the cottage but will next time!

Amazing home and location

We had a wonderful time in Pittsfield for the Holidays. Sarah sent me a few different activities prior to our visit so I could plan some local holiday events ahead of time which was WONDERFUL! They were always responsive if there was an issue or question and the house was perfect.

This charming house is wonderfully decorated with every convenience one could want from kitchen appliances to extras in bathroom. Beautifully landscaped yard. It couldn’t be better situated to shopping and local attractions. Communication with hosts was fantastic.

All the Comforts of Home

I was very impressed with how well supplied this rental was. Everything we needed was there. I felt that our host put a lot of loving attention into preparing for our stay. And I also appreciated how quickly we received a response when we contacted the host. I recommend this place without reservation.

Adorable, unique, lovely rental

Literally one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. Very clean and comfortable, but what really got us was the adorable, unique and very special decor. The yard is amazing, the Whimsical art all over the place and they just want to never leave! The hosts were incredibly responsive and overall it was a wonderful weekend. Can't wait to return. Couldn't say enough good things.

Beautiful home and outside property

The South Mountain house is perfect for a relaxing get away and to renew old friendships. The outside deck and gorgeous yard was perfect for watching nature and having long talks over coffee. The house itself was amazing with themed rooms and fireplace. Sarah responded immediately to all of our questions and is the perfect host!! We already booked to return. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place.

Friends coming to the Berkshires

What a wonderful Host Sarah was completely accommodating and responded promptly tk all my messages This was a rental for friends(3 sisters ) to come for an event here in the Berkshires They all absolutely loved the house and the space it provided all of them The weather was cold and icy and they tended to the driveway immediately Wonderful host and property Thank you

Cozy house in the Berkshires - Just as advertised!

Very cozy house and well stocked on the fine details (homemade chocolate chip cookies on arrival will always win me over)! Sarah was super responsive as a host, and the place was just as described in the listing. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend for anyone visiting this area.

South Mountain House

The South Mountain House in Pittsfield is centrally located to all cultural and adventure activities . The house is very comfortable and nicely decorated with all the amenities of your own home. The hosts Sara and Jesse were immediately responsive to needs and checked in periodically without being intrusive. Overall a great stay and wold highly recommend it.
