Looking for a place to get away from it all and be immersed in nature's glory? This is the place for you. This family-friendly private cabin surrounded by woods with beautiful all season views will be your new favorite home away from home.



Whether you're enjoying your coffee with a view from the deck, cozily relaxing around the wood burning stove or playing in the creek on the property, you're sure to find something to enjoy here!

NOTE: Base rate includes 4 guests-above that will be an extra guest fee of $20 per person per night.



Firewood Fee $10 per night (optional ) please let us know after your stay if you did not use it for the indoor woodburing fireeplace



No pets allowed.



Unfortunately we don't have trash service in the mountains. We encourage you to take your trash and recycling with you- Directions for dump site is at the cabin



If you leave your trash and recycling at the house, we ask that you tip the housekeeper $5 per bag as a courtesy for disposing of it.



A separate security deposit is required for this property. Please feel free to ask us if you have any questions—we are happy to answer them!





PLEASE NOTE for November - March bookings: During these winter months, a four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle is recommended in case of inclement weather.

The hosts were wonderful communicators and extremely accommodating with our last-minute needs. We hosted a small rehearsal dinner there, and the bridal party stayed overnight so they could have hair and makeup done before the wedding. The venue, Stonyman Valley Ranch, was only a 4-minute drive away, which made everything so convenient and stress-free. Thank you for helping make the weekend so special!

The Round House was exceptionally charming. There was plenty of space for my family (4 adults, 2 kids), and we loved being in the second floor open space to eat, play games, and hang out with the beautiful view of the mountains through the windows. I honestly wish that we had booked more time there because it was such a great vacation rental!

Holiday Adventure

The Round House is snuggly with a wonderful wood burning stove on the first level, a round staircase takes you up a level to a panoramic view of the mountains. Kitchen is well-equipped, rooms are comfortable and the deck is perfect for watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee. Location is great for many different trail heads and the hikes were wonderful. We enjoyed our stay!

Fun winter weekend get away

A nice mountain location for views and walks on rural roads, and relaxing with a book or game. A bit dated, but very comfortable for cozy time inside or on the deck. Very close to downtown Luray, and a close enough to Staunton for an easy day trip.

Cool place, nice location if you like hiking and the town.

Peaceful, quiet, felt like a bird sanctuary. Very unique layout. Indoors well maintained. Enjoyed our stay here.

Thank you for the AC feedback. This cabin has three AC units and during extreme periods of heat we recommend guests use all three AC units as well as ceiling fans in each room Thanks for the toilet feedback. Guests should not flush baby wipes, diapers or other large debris in toilet and it will function properly. We will always be working on the upkeep. Thank you for visiting Solitude - Shenrent

Gorgeous house

We stayed for a long weekend and had a great time. The house is beautiful and the atmosphere was stunning. We explored the caverns and did some walking and sightseeing in the area.

Beautiful mountain cabin

We loved the unique round home that had everything we needed for our children and babies. It was nice to have kids plates and the pack and play available and our boys loves the stream to play in. The lower level didnt have AC, but was not too bad and the main floor was cooled off with multiple units, and it was hot at around 90 degrees so it was to be expected.

Birthday Trip

The property was absolutely to die for, it was so cozy for the perfect weekend getaway. Only thing is the roads were scarily icy because of the recent snow storm. Other than that no complaints!

Super relaxing house

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the round house. Close to the national park for hiking and also to the town of Luray (for food shopping and restaurants) as well as the caverns. On the day when it rained we relaxed in the living room with all the windows and was very comfy. Would stay there again!
