Welcome to Wunderschön Vista Haus! We have views for DAYS! Enjoy the view of Canyon Lake or Texas Hill Country from our balconies, spacious front porch or expansive back deck. Opt to add our private game room in the backyard cottage to play PS4, PAC-man, foosball, or darts. Kids will love feeding the deer that wander onto the property all day long! After a fun filled day at the lake you can relax on the huge back deck, grill some burgers, and roast some marshmallows around the fire pit.

Please feel free to reach out if you need anything!

A quiet neighborhood with beautiful views of Canyon Lake, hiking trails, and access to the lake is 1 minute's drive away. There are many beautiful tree lined paths to walk and gorgeous views of the lake. If you're up for a challenge, there are lots of hills to help you get your workout in!

Pet fee is $25/pet/night. Please notify us in advance of any pets you'll be bringing.
Access to the game room is an additional $50/might. Advance notice is appreciated, but not required.
There is a keypad on the door. You will be notified of the code the day before your arrival.

Natural light fills this spacious mid century modern inspired lake house. There are lots of outdoor spaces where you can relax and enjoy the beauty of Canyon Lake.

You'll definitely need a vehicle to get around.

Pet fee is $25/pet/night. Please notify us in advance of any pets you'll be bringing as approval is required.
Game room access is $50/night. Advanced notice is appreciated, but not required.
There is an open lot next to the house that attract lots of wildlife including birds, deer, foxes, etc. They are very docile and accustomed to friendly visitors, however, they are wild animals. Please use caution. The lot is not part of our property, so please be respectful when passing through.

A Deerly Beloved Getaway 🦌If you're looking for a clean, comfy place to unwind with your family and pup and make some new four-legged forest friends, this is the spot. The house itself was clean and cozy—like staying at a friend's house, if your friend is extremely tidy and has a contemporary kind of style. The best part? Deer. Everywhere. Morning coffee on the porch turned into a daily episode of "National Geographic" And just when we thought it couldn't get better, we found a bin of deer food provided by the hosts—basically turning my girls into Disney princesses for the weekend. Although we did not enjoy the fire pit, it also looked like a great place to have a glass of wine and become a deer whisperer. 10/10 would come back—next time with more time to relax and less shame about how many deer selfies I took. 🦌

Cozy Lake Home

We all enjoyed our stay at the house. It was plenty of room for the five of us. The house had everything we needed and more with plenty of thoughtful touches. The balconies all had good views, especially the ones upstairs. The neighborhood was nice as well and we walked around it most mornings and evenings. You could walk down to the boat ramp and the water fairly quickly for drive even faster when it was too hot.

Great 1st time experience

This was our first VRBO experience. Listing was exactly what we showed up to. Communication & information was excellent. Super clean, no issues, & it had everything you needed. Overall great experience & a place to relax and unwind. We were especially appreciative that it was very clean. Just a comfortable place. Thanks!

Nice place in the Texas Hill Country

Very nice property in the Texas Hill Country with obstructed, but still nice views of Canyon Lake. Location is essentially midway between San Antonio and Austen, and a great jumping off place for trips to Gruene, Fredrickburg, etc.. Also, if you don't want to go far, very good pizza (Elio's) and bakery only a couple of miles down the hill. Furniture was comfortable and clean, and a family of 6 deer came to visit at the back yard. Master bedroom is on main floor, although there are a couple of steps up into the house, and the living room is sunken a step from the kitchen/master bedroom level, so while it is minimal steps, it is not (nor was it advertised as such) handicapped accessible. Love the plug for the electrc car as well (bring own charging cable). If you are bringing a boat, there is room to park it in front of the house, but you might want to check with the lake authorities. While we were there, the level was low enough that the closest boat ramp was closed, although I did see some boats out there, so there must be alternative entry points. We came for the 2024 eclipse, and the host was very thoughtful with a gift basket of eclipse themed snacks as well as eclipse glasses. Good communication throughout. We hope to be back.

Awesome Place

The place is beautiful and centrally located with easy access to great restaurants and lake in the area. Marisol is a wonderful host making sure we had everything we needed and helped us with our special accommodations. We will definitely be returning next summer, do not pass up on this property!

Great little family getaway

Great location to all the things we were interested in doing. Tons of deer, although they were spooked easily. The neighbors were able to feed and call them in. We loved going by the dam, but not huge fans of swim beach 1 because it was very rough and $20 per car and could not come and go. But over all, the house was great. It has an obstructed view of the lake, but still nice.

This is the kind of place that makes you slow down and appreciate the natural beauty all around. There are 5 outdoor living spaces, including 3 balconies, one wide front porch and a HUGE deck! Each one has a gorgeous view of either the lake or the hill country.

The boat ramp in just a one minute drive down the hill and there's plenty of room to park your boat in front of the house.

If you feel like getting out to experience some of the unique little Texas towns, Guene is just 20 minutes away and has the oldest dance hall in Texas along with great little restaurants and boutiques.

You will see our usual deer herds passing through. They're always optimistic that you'll drop them a little deer food from the stash we provide. At night the skies are dark with lots of stars visible on a clear evening.
