Family vacation for 6 weeks

We loved the location of this property. We moved out of the country a year ago and wanted to come spend some time with friends and family in our old neighborhood. The rooms and kitchen were clean when we checked in although there was trash still in the guest bathroom. We had an ant infestation our first day but the owner called someone to come out and spray and we never had another problem with ants. The kitchen pots and pans were not well cleaned. The kitchen cupboards were also filled with old spices and stuff that should be tossed. They needed a good cleaning The stove and microwave were very clean and good. Not a lot of kitchen supplies. The air conditioner wasn’t working well when we were there. There was a heat wave and the owner did call someone to come out but they no showed 2 times and it was me who had to wait for them. The third time they finally came and decided the unit and furnace needed to be replaced. It was going to take the day to do. I had already spent quite a bit of my time dealing with service people. I told the owner he needed to come and stay at the house while it was being replaced since we had appointed and plans. The owner did come and stay so that was great. Only 1 of the 3 rooms had a dresser so that was not what I expected. I was unable to unpack and had to live out of my suitcases for 6 weeks. Not ideal. There were also very few cleaning supplies. The price was much better than other places though.

Property is well situated in the Silicon Valley and works well for a work team. Communication with property owner and check-in/out process is excellent. Property lacks some basic amenities, specifically in the kitchen. Attention needs to be given to outfitting cooking necessities, and cleanliness in kitchen area.

Disappointed

The property owner worked with us to cut our stay short and provided a reduced, partial refund for two nights. A front porch window was broken with pieces of glass loose and still present. It was covered with cardboard only. The house temp was 51 degrees which took several hours to get to temperature. The bathrooms and bedrooms were clean, although used laundry was piled in one closet. Very minimal furniture. The fully stocked kitchen is in accurate, with minimal pots, pans and dishes. Dining seats only accommodate 4. The cupboards were unkempt and stored canisters were filthy. The wok and other pans still had food bits on them. Dishes in the dishwasher were dirty. The backyard has been ignored for quite some time. The abandoned hot tub seems a dangerous hazard. The map guides to the property are inaccurate, causing us to disturb other neighbors at 2am. I would not recommend this property.

Perfect Location!

The house was perfect for what we needed as we were in town for a family wedding. The yard could use some maintenance and maybe a table outside to sit at. Had we been at the house for meals we would not have had enough plates, silverware, etc. There are some broken cabinet handles. The cabinets and drawers in the kitchen could use a good deep clean. The bathrooms and bedrooms were very clean.

Rekindling San Jose Memories

This house is located in a quiet and attractive neighborhood in San Jose. The inside of the house was clean and well maintained. The kitchen is in need of supplies for guests to use. Utensils, cookie pans, a toaster, are some of the items needed. The curb appeal of this house could use some manicuring. The backyard outdoor space is in need of some maintenance and it would be wonderful in the cool San Jose climate to enjoy sitting outside to have a meal or morning coffee, some outdoor furniture and lighting would have been great addition to this rental. We enjoyed our stay and would rent this house again in the future.

Nice, but different

Some good features like a very walkable neighborhood, lemon tree in the back yard, nice flowers, updated bathrooms; but also some oddities - such as no full set of silverware and missing certain kitchen utensils (like no corkscrew, oven mitts, or large baking pan, but many others such as woks), an abandoned hot tub in the back yard and no patio furniture.

Rundown and Empty

Unfortunately, we didn't have the best experience with this property. The house felt a bit rundown. The floor boards were loose, there were a lot of broken cabinets and drawers in the kitchen and a random copper pipe sticking out of the kitchen wall. The property was also poorly furnished. The beds were not comfortable (very hard), the curtains were paper-thin, and the kitchen was almost entirely barren. We only had a few utensils (mis-matched spoons and forks) and the only thing in the fridge was a bottle of mustard. We were able to make the stay work for us, but we had to make an emergency run to Target down the street to make the property usable. I will say the location was perfect and worked well for our needs. Just overall pretty disappointing

A rental that serves it purpose

If you are in need of a simple 3 bedroom place to stay that is a great value compared to other rentals it’s size, look no further.

Amazing place to stay for a short while.

We had a great time during our stay. We’re local to the place and had to move out for our home renovation. The place was clean, smelled good, and well equipped kitchen. The beds weren’t very comfortable, but we had our own mattress so that worked out. Overall a great experience.

Cozy Home at a Super Convenient Location

We are so pleased to have booked Rina's property. The house is clean and cozy, the location is super convenient to get anywhere, We hope we will have another chance to stay there when we travel to the bay area.
