Great property and everything was as described. Easy check in process! Would only add to get some newer pillows as they are all extremely flat for the beds.

What a disappointment, proceed with caution!

This property is a “business storefront” and the main floor is an abandoned for sale property. The neighborhood is questionable at best. Run down homes and properties along with abandoned buildings. It is no coincidence that they provide no exterior photos of the property. Upon arrival we left because we did not feel the area was safe enough to stay in. We asked for a refund and the property owner refused as she thought we were too sensitive to the condition of the building itself as the rental unit upstairs is nicely remodeled.

We had a great time here with our granddaughters. It was very accommodating. We spent a lot of time together and at the beach. Everything was close by. Stores, restaurants and the beach.Thank you Renee

Not what we expected

Pictures are super cute online. This is actually a makeshift apartment in the upstairs of an old run-down house in a sketchy part of town. After being at the beach that day we were hot and tired. Very disappointed to arrive to our VRBO that was 91 degrees inside. After 4-5 hours it finally got cool enough for us to sleep. The floors were uneven and potentially unstable. The outside yard is in poor condition as well as the wooden stair case leading up to the unit. The unit itself had an odor. The shower is an old tub which is cute but not stable- nothing to hold on to. The vent fan didn’t work. There is no dishwasher so plan to wash dishes by hand. Would not recommend for anyone with mobility or balance issues or anyone with younger children who might want to jump and play. Not worth the money.

Not worth the price.

First impression was poor. House was not well kept. The out door furniture was filthy and deck area unkept. The house was clean enough, however, the house needs work. The shower was horrible. The couch was very uncomfortable. The beds were comfortable. The temperature never cooled lower than 74. It was very warm the whole stay. Would not stay there again.

Unsafe parking, uncomfortable couch and beds. We didn’t stay the night due to the poor conditions.

Misleading Listing – We Left Within an Hour

This rental was nothing like the listing portrayed. The exterior was completely run-down, which likely explains why there are no outside pictures. The home had a strong musty smell, outdated furniture, and a dingy, unclean feel. The floors felt soft and unstable in places, making us question the structural integrity. Some light switches worked, others didn’t, and the bathroom setup was makeshift and dirty.We didn’t stay more than an hour—just long enough to find alternative accommodations. When we reached out to the owner, offering to pay for one night and requesting a refund for the second, we were only offered a credit for another one of their properties, which we had no interest in.Extremely disappointing experience. We would not recommend this rental.

Cute place to stay

2 of my close friend and I decided to get away for a short stay not too far from home. We had a great relaxing time. This place had everything we needed, short distance from everything. This place was clean and easy to find. The neighborhood felt safe. Even though the place below this apartment looks abandoned.

Clean and quiet

Everything was exactly as it said it was online. The space was clean and quiet. It’s decorated lovely and was great for a mini girls trip. Only recommendation is to add another lock to the door that locks from the inside, it would make guests feel safer. Nothing happened but as two female guests it was concerning not have that in place.

Good and Bad

The good: it’s spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable. The decor was nicely done and felt cozy. Neutral: the property is old and in need of maintenance. It’s very close to the railroad track and the whole house shakes when a train goes through. The bad: The bathroom situation is awful. The shower is rigged up and secured with wooden post toppers. The frame rigged around the tub was bent and there was no way to fully close the curtain to shower without getting water all over the bathroom. Plus being tall people meant we were taller than the shower curtain. The property needs a lot of maintenance and the deck and stairs are not properly secured to the building, which didn’t feel safe. Overall: it was a decent property but not worth the $300 a night I paid.

Ok. Needs improvement!

The property was ok. The house needs a LOT of work. Outside especially. Run down! Didn’t give us the best feeling pulling up!! The shower was a train wreck. Water everywhere due to poor functionality. Older kitchen. Decor was cute. Beds comfortable. Neighborhood a little sketchy. Close and convenient to beach though. I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

One night after hiking the Dunes

We just needed one night to recover from our day at Indiana Dunes before we headed out of town. It was a great spot. The decor is so cute. Beds were comfortable. Everything worked just fine. We had a little trouble with the key code on the door when we checked in, but the host was VERY responsive and quick. Hardly a moment of delay accessing the property.

Treehouse Bungalow stay

We had such an amazing experience with this property and the host. She was very responsive and was so accommodating to some extra requests I had. We would stay again for sure!

Good place to stay!

Great place, very clean, the outside was very wet since it rained so we couldn't use the outside areas but it was overall a very nice and cozy place.
