Sink your feet into the sands of Mexico on a private beach! Rent this 2 bd, 2 Bath house right on the pristine beach of Playa Miramar, just 25 min. from Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), Sonora, Mexico. Gated community with 24hr. security including beach patrol. This is an excellent way to escape your busy life and get away from it all. We are also by the Mayan Palace resort, where you can take a nice stroll on the beach and have a drink at the resort or even a special dinner. Please understand, that due to being in a third world country, the wi-fi can be spotty at times. However, for most of the time, the wi-fi is up and running.

Sandy Retreat

The ability to step off your front porch and access the coast and water is amazing. The stars were so amazing, and the house is very comfortable. I look forward to my next trip there. We saw dolphins while in town getting lunch.

Amazing location

We fell in love with his place! It is a little bit of a drive to get to it but you feel like you have a whole beach to yourself! It is a cozy, little beach house. The owner lives right next door and is so pleasant and helpful if there are any questions or you need anything. We are definitely coming back!

Will definitely stay again

Loved the beach. The house would be great for 2 couples or a family with kids. Everything was in working order, clean and it was temperature controlled. Can’t wait to come back and would recommend. We had the chance to meet the owner in the house next door and she was great! Very hospitable! If you’re bringing food ask to have them turn up the temp down in the fridge. It took awhile for it to cool down.

Great Beachfront Ocean Views

Property accurately portrayed in pictures as an older home in Playa Miramar. Owner is friendly and lives next door, has 2 small dogs, semi-shared patio. Pros: beach/ocean view and access, have the beach to yourself, some shells, shaded patio, parking behind a fence, fire pit, internet good, no vendors, kitchen stocked to cook a meal, economical place to stay Cons: flies flies flies for our visit, patio screen door a poor fit and let flies into the home so had to keep the glass slider closed, kitchen cabinet area has an odor, sunrise and sunset views obstructed by new builds on both sides, have to go quite a way onto the beach to view either (not portrayed in the pictures or listing), home to west not finished, home to east has lights on all night which does interfer with star gazing and beach ambiance. Bed in master showing some age. Take insect repellent and citronella to sit outside on the patio. Would visit again for a short visit.

Perfect getaway right on beach

We loved how close to the beach this place was. Beautiful view of the ocean from the living room and dining room. 30 minutes from town if you need to go shopping but away from the crowds of people. It is an older home but we loved the price. Would definitely stay here again.

Time to retire this rental

It's likely that this was a fine property 30 years ago, but it's old and tired and desperately in need of upgrade. The porch ceiling is missing a large area of paint--some of the paint is actually hanging down. The decorations in the beach in front of the house consist of a stack of old, painted tires with some weird something sticking out of the top, some plastic bottles cut in unrecognizable shapes, and some plate sculptures (which were actually one of the better things about the beach front). It was hot and there is only AC in the living room so consequently the bedrooms were very hot. The ceiling fan in the dining area did not work. The recliners in the living room were very uncomfortable, as were the dining chairs. We understand that beach houses often have mismatched and older furniture, but these were pretty sad. Ditto for the porch furniture. Unfortunately, the houses on either side are enormous and consequently jut out much further toward the beach, effectively cutting off any breeze that might otherwise have reached this small, set back house. Also, the house to the east has bright lights on all night, which contributed to the discomfort of trying to sleep. We've stayed in dozens of houses in the Puerto Penasco area over many years and this was the worst.

Great location and hosts!

We will be back to this lovely house on the beach in Playa Miramar. It is on the quiet, beautiful beach and was just the right size for our family of 3 plus dog. We enjoyed the ease of being on the beach, cooking dinners to enjoy on the porch during sunset, and relaxing. The listing and photos do a good job of representing what is a cute, slightly older, but fantastic beach house. We found Debbie and Jan very responsive and helpful with any questions we had.

Exactly what we were looking for

This property is just what we were looking for! The house is right on the beach. It had a remote feel (which is a major plus for us) and we encountered very few people on the huge beach. The house and beds were comfortable and had what we needed.

Excellent home and location

The house has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is a little far from town but for me that's not a problem. I can't wait to go back. The host was great.

Wonderful home

Very quiet location, with hardly anyone on site for the entire stay. We enjoyed long walks on the beach and just resting on porch. The little "garden" in front of the house is the most precious and creative site. Although an older house, it is very clean. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment and utensils. If you need to turn on the heat, use the overhead unit (remote controlled), not the gas stove in the living room. Very prompt communication with Debbie, who sent super precise directions to the house and answered all questions in a very professional and timely manner.

We had a relaxing time! We scoured the bea h at low tide for creatures. We had a bonfire each night. We saw pods of dolphins swim by. Debbie’s neighbor even gifted us grouper he had caught off shore earlier that day!

It’s now “Our Beach”:-)

This little beach house was exactly what we were looking for- incredible, unhindered access to the beach with all of its sights, sounds, and smells. If we wanted the bustle of Puerto Penasco, it was just 25 minutes away. For the two of us and our dog, Sandy Feet Retreat was perfect. It was very clean, had all the necessities and, of course, you walk off the porch right onto the beach with no other people around most of the time. It’s was a bit chilly inside, so we were glad there were extra blankets to wrap up in. (There was an ancient gas heater, but it was not lit and we didn’t want to try it without host confirming it was operational- we contacted her but did not get a response). We will return for sure.

This house is right on the beautiful beaches of Mexico. Very private and quiet. We see dolphin almost every day! You can also fish from the beach and collect many seashells.
