Mini Gem is a charming home located in the heart of the Sea Isle Subdivision of Galveston Island. This 2b/1b home will accommodate up to 6 guests and was renovated in 2021. The open-concept living/dining/kitchen area is perfect for a small group of two couples wanting a charming and quaint vacation rental.

The kitchen is completely outfitted for preparing meals with dishes, pots, pans, a full-size oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and has an island with additional seating for two.

Mini Gem offers distant views of the bay right from the balcony.

This home is located next door to Sea Gem so if your group needs side-by-side accommodations, this is the mini gem!

Second bedroom - 2x twin beds (sleeps 2) - main level & bathroom access
There are two twin rollaway beds (sleeps 2) - stored in the bedroom closets, may be used in large open living area

SEA ISLE
Sea Isle is a family-friendly neighborhood, located on Galveston’s West End, that is highly sought after by families who love to swim, fish and cruise the island in golf carts. Sea Isle offers a public beach, seasonal community pool, bait shop, playground, tennis courts, a convenience store, restaurant and a bar.

Please Note: The Sea Isle Pool is open from Memorial Day thru Labor Day. Guests must call Sea Isle HOA at 409-737-2438 to obtain pool passes. The pool passes are 10 for $100. They are open Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm.

Fun weekend getaway

We really enjoyed staying at the house. It has all of the amenities as promised however the couches are really small. The beds are comfortable and the washer dryer was really convenient.

Great family Spring Break getaway

This was a great place for our family of 6, we really enjoyed it! It was a little small but worked just fine for a short stay, and still more room than a hotel would allow. The kitchen was decently stocked for cooking in, and the beds were really comfy, everyone slept great, even on the roll away beds! We didn’t discover the second toilet down in the laundry area until later in our stay, but no big deal. The hose was perfectly placed at the base of the stairs to rinse feet after walking to the beach! It would have been better with the golf cart, but we made it to the beach twice walking with littles and it was fine. There is also a park in the neighborhood within an easy walk, and a pool that was closed for us but would have been fun too I bet once open! We walked to the marina too, and took home a half gallon of delicious margaritas for the hubs and me to enjoy. We’ll look at staying here again if we are ever back in Galveston!

AC and Shower not too cool, and not too wet

The AC is inoperative upon arrival. Interior temp was 85 degrees. Repairman arrived 20 hours after our checkin time. Repair man reported all Refrigerant GONE due to leak. Not sure how unit is rented with broken AC, there was an earlier VRBO review reporting the same.The shower head sprays CRAZY. Unpleasant Water needless coming out in all directions except my dirty body. For what this unit cost, go to HOME DEPOT and replace that poorly functioning shower head. This was almost the worst shower I have ever taken, the worst being a COLD shower.One more thing...why no dishwashing detergent? dishwasher yes, dishwashing no.Otherwise great, but can't recommend until AC and Shower head is replaced

I love sea isle

I love this neighborhood, we have stayed in sea isle several times. This property was nice, but the management company is seems only leaves amenities for a short weekend stay. We were there seven days and given 1 roll of toilet paper, 1 roll of paper towels, I had to hunt for extra trash bags after the two that were set out, 2 tabs for the dishwasher. It just simply wasn’t enough for 4 people for 7 days. There is no outside shower downstairs so it was virtually impossible to keep from tracking sand. The air conditioner had an extremely hard time keeping up in the afternoons. We ended up having to close all the curtains all day instead of enjoying the beautiful views. The property was nice, and I would recommend it but with some side notes like above.

A/C not working

We stayed from Thursday night until Sunday morning. Upon arrival it was 83 degrees in the house. We thought A/C was just off. After several hours, A/C still not cooling. Called for service. Around 11 pm, the A/C started cooling off. Friday and Saturday during day A/C would not cool to less than 77 degrees. Saturday evening called for service again. This time the serviceman said he could not get A/C to cool and offered a window unit or us to move to another property. It was already after 10 pm and we were tired. We just toughed it out and did not sleep until it cooled off to 73 degrees around 2 am. This was not an enjoyable stay because of the A/C issue. Extra note of killed 2 large roaches our 1st night there and the windows were dirty with hand prints all over them. The shower was leaking at the bottom where large puddle each time took shower.

Good for Small Families

We had 2 adults and 2 kids and this was nice for a short beach getaway. There were some minor issues like a shower leak and weak a/c in the master bedroom, but no deal-breakers. Easy beach access directly in front of the neighborhood.

Cozy by the sea

Small and cozy bay house, perfect for two. We rented a golf cart for beach trips just up the street. Also, restaurant/bar, pool, tennis courts and playground in the neighborhood as well. My friends that came to visit will rent this gem in the future. Lovely holiday.
