This cabin was an absolutely perfect get away. Just far enough outside of Fairbanks to feel the peaceful solitude. We had unseasonable clouds and rain (September) that to El Niño, but still caught a night of aurora. We would absolutely stay here again!

What an absolutely incredible stay! The beautiful log cabin tucked away in the woods of Fairbanks was everything I could have hoped for and more. The cabin was exceptionally clean, beautifully styled, and thoughtfully stocked with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay.The absolute highlight was witnessing the Northern Lights on three of my four nights, right outside the cabin (pictures are UNEDITED, with only iPhone night mode being used). Without question, one of the most breathtakingly beautiful things I’ve ever seen, and an experience I’ll never forget.A special mention has to go to Elke, who is genuinely one of the kindest, most thoughtful and communicative hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Having coffee personally delivered by Lisa and her wonderful sled dogs was such a unique and lovely touch (although I perhaps wish I hadn’t “enjoyed” the previous night as much with whiskey to have really appreciated the meet and greet)!The surrounding wilderness is stunning, with plenty to see and do around Fairbanks, whilst the cabin itself offers the perfect peaceful retreat.I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better Alaskan experience. A truly magical place with an exceptional host. As someone from England, who just moved to California last year and has been to 11 states, this was my favourite stay - I would return in a heartbeat and cannot recommend it highly enough!

Cute and perfect!

My family and I had an amazing stay! Property was perfect and was an excellent location for both Chena Hot Springs, North Pole, and Fairbanks activities. Hosts were excellent and so helpful! Definately staying again, and they had mugs available for purchase!

Wonderful Alaskan Getaway!

We absolutely loved staying here, meeting the owner, dog sledding, and exploring from this awesome home base as we learned what Alaska is made of… we can’t wait to bring our family to explore more. Perfect place away from town!

Unique and amazing vacation!

Loved everything about this place! Interacting with the sled dogs, cabin is pristine, far away but still close enough to run into town.

Awesome stay

The cabin was perfect! It was very clean and well stocked. The location was good for many activities. The owners were easy to work with and the dogs were so fun!! We loved the private dog mushing experience. It is very quiet and secluded, we were able to view the northern lights from the back yard! The whole experience/stay was amazing, we hope to visit again.

The perfect place in a perfect place!

We had an amazing time at this wonderful property. The cabin fit two adult couples very well and we had everything we needed. The hosts were very responsive throughout. Then beyond the beautiful space, we had the BEST time meeting the sled dogs and learning all about life in the area. We would absolutely stay again!

Wonderful!

We found the house comfortable and clean. The dogs and dog sled ride were extraordinary. Elke is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Watching the northern lights from the driveway made the trip perfect!

Wonderful house in the country

This home is perfectly located between fairbanks and chena hot springs. Super cute inside. Cozy dog sledding theme is adorable! Great dog sled adventure and so nice to meet and play with the dogs! Terrific hosts too!

Great place to stay

The cabin is super cozy, a real labor of love. We were lucky to have multiple nights of seeing the aurora during our visit, but enjoyed watching it most right outside the cabin. We also enjoyed the private dog mushing and our dog team made it a very enjoyable experience. Overall we had a great time, and hope to be back again someday. Highly recommend!

Look no further, book this amazing cabin AsAP for your vacation in fairbanks. It was the perfect cabin, in the perfect location. The drive to the cabin is absolutely beautiful. It’s located in the middle of downtown Fairbanks and Chena hot springs. You do need a car to be more efficient. Plenty of space, clean, beautiful rustic modern decor and has everything you need in kitchen and laundry. Host had plenty of recommendations for local activities and they all were on par. We also did dog mushing with the host which was such a special and fun experience. Best experience was to be able to see aurora Borealis from the cabin. What a spectacular view. We highly recommend this cabin, and can’t wait to come back again! Thank you Lisa.

The true Alaskan Experience

The location and layout of the property gave us the feeling that we were truly in the wilderness. We fully expected to look out and see a moose wandering through the fire pit area. While we were only 45 minutes from most of the activities we had planned, we felt the experience of being in the real Alaska. Thank you for being a part of a great start to our Alaska adventure.

Perfect cabin, Great location & Sled dog demo on site!

The cabin was perfect for our group of 4 adults. We enjoyed having a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. It was an easy distance to drive to the hot springs and we enjoyed seeing moose on the drive. We added the dog sled demonstration on to our stay and enjoyed the experience. As a tourist, you don't often get the opportunity to interact with your host. Meeting Elke and her dogs was a highlight of our trip to Alaska. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin and your mushing stories with us.

Fantastic House and Host

Elke, the host, is an amazing person who made the stay lovely. She took my wife and I on an wonderful sled ride. It was magical. Elke has such passion for her dogs and sledding and that passion shows in both her careful attention to detail at her beautiful lodge to her very responsive communication. The lodge is in the perfect location for seeing the Northern lights. What a treat! Thank you Elke!

Perfect Winter Getaway!

Elke has done a fantastic job creating a cozy environment that is warm and inviting. The cabin location was ideal for us being outside of the city in the snowy woods yet still having the convenience of modern amenities! We saw several moose along the main road and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the amazing Aurora Borealis right from the property multiple nights during our stay. A highlight of our trip was the dog mushing adventure with Elke. Her dedication and love for her dogs is truly inspirational. She spent extra time with us answering all of our questions and had great conversation ~ we feel like we've known her for years! We highly recommend staying here. Thank you Elke for the perfect winter Alaskan getaway!

A perfect escape to a cabin in the woods!

Thank you to Elke, Matt, and Lisa or a wonderful stay at this beautiful cabin in the woods. They were very responsive hosts, answering all of our questions and providing lots of great local recommendations and instructions on how to operate all of the amenities in the cabin. We stayed for 3 nights in September and enjoyed the peace and quiet of this welcoming, exceptionally clean and cozy cabin. It was a perfect place to unplug and relax, while still being close to town and offering the comforts of home. We were lucky to see the Auroras on our final night at the cabin, with dark skies right outside our front door. The dog sledding experience was unforgettable. It was such a treat to meet Elke's wonder dogs and learn about mushing in Alaska. Thank you for this experience - we will never forget it, and will follow the team in the upcoming Iditarod. We fell head over heels for the pups, and we'll be cheering for you in March!
