Enjoy panoramic Bay of Fundy views, 24-foot tides, and incredible wildlife viewing from your deck, bedroom, and living room. Whales, seals, bald eagles, and unforgettable Lubec sunsets make every stay memorable. Steeped in history, Halibut House is a lovingly restored (circa 1900) sardine factory worker's cottage set on a private bayfront acre. Enjoy the peace of a large, fully fenced property where you, your guests, and pets can relax and take in the beauty of Downeast coastal Maine.

Halibut house features a cozy king bed in the loft, a twin pullout sleeper in the living area. The cottage offers a quaint, well-appointed kitchen, high-speed internet, Smart TV, and a full bathroom, providing everything for a relaxing coastal getaway. Also INCLUDED with your stay is Minky Manor, a charming guest cottage located on the property. Minkey Manor features a queen bed, Smart TV, mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and seating area. Guests of Minkey Manor share the bathroom facilities located in Halibut House.

Located in Lubec, ME- the easternmost town in the United States-Halibut House is one mile walk from downtown Lubec and the bridge to Campobello Isle, Canada. Surrounded by the natural beauFundy, famous for the world's highest tides, this is the perfect destination for families, friends, and pets to relax, explore, and create lasting memories. Super cute cozy cottage. We Loved the front porch. The most amazing sunsets. The views from the living room and bedroom were spectacular. Gated yard was perfect for our pups. Lots of space to run and play. They loved the beach access. The location was perfect. We loved everything about the Halibut house and Lubec is a charm. We will be back.

We had such a great time. The owners were so helpful with all the best places to go and things to do. The house was just so cute with amazing views. Our dogs loved it as well and the fenced in yard was perfect. I highly reccomend and would stay again!!

This is such an amazing property, especially if you are traveling with pets. The front deck with the beautiful views and sunsets was the perfect place to relax after our daily adventures! The entire large yard is fenced for the fur babies, which was perfect.

A beautiful property with stunning views. The cabin is quaint, and very well kept with a charming coastal vibe. The property has secure fencing for those travelling with pets and a well curated outdoor space. The host, Angela, is extremely prompt, responsive and well informed about the area and local must-dos. Can’t Wait Until Next Year

Exactly what we are looking for in a get away. Close to town, hiking, birding, etc., or just watching the sunset over the water. A great home away from home.

Slice of relaxed heaven

You can’t beat the view and the sunsets. The proximity to the pier is amazing. Everything is within one hour to see. So wonderful fisherman’s war restaurant we found a little town about 45 minutes away with a nice little shops. Great yard for dogs absolutely loved it.

Beautiful waterfront property, great cottage

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this Lubec gem. The cottage was super close to everything in town. We loved having the main bedroom upstairs and the “bunkhouse” next door for the kids. It was a relaxing low key space and a great property for dogs (fully fenced in). We highly recommend, thank you!

Cute cottages, great view

We had a nice 3 night stay at Angela’s Halibut House and Lobster Lair. The house is nicely decorated and has a great deck overlooking the water. Halibut House was perfect for 2 people and our adult daughter enjoyed her privacy in Lobster Lair. Most of our stay was foggy and rainy, but we were able to go hiking at Quoddy Head and eat at some local restaurants. We did not cook there, so can’t comment on that part but our dog loved the yard and the deck as much as we did. Angela was very responsive, helpful and ready to make sure our stay went well.

I am so sorry! I wish you would have reached out, I would have gladly had the property manager bring new bedding! There is always extra bedding in “space zip bags” in the cedar chest as well. Again, my apologies I live 2,000 miles south. I pried myself on customer service and cleanliness, I would have gladly fixed, if I had known.

Wonderful week

Our family of 4 stayed the week. Views are fantastic. Kayaking in Bay was outstanding. Abundance of wildlife (saw whales, seals, fox, eagles, and more). Kids (and us adults) had fun exploring beach collecting treasures like beach glass and special stones. Overall, would not hesitate to recommend or stay again ourselves.

Halibut House and Lobster Lair are charming!

These adorable properties are small but by no means spartan; plenty of comfortable places to curl up, all the “little touches” you can think of, and a very responsive owner and property manager. No “buts;” we loved it.

We LOVE the Halibut House!

We had a fantastic stay at the Halibut House and exploring the Lubec, ME area. This place is everything we needed and the description was spot on. Best feature - the view of Johnson Bay and the fenced in dog yard! We couldn't have asked for anything better. One of the best vacations ever. We will return someday and when that day comes, we will definitely stay at the Halibut House again. Thank you, Angela, for everything!

My family has been visiting and vacationing in Lubec for more than 20 years. We fell in love with the area's rugged coastline, abundant wildlife, friendly community, and breathtaking Bay of Fundy views, and in 2021 we were thrilled to purchase Halibut House and make it part of our family's story.

My husband is a commercial fisherman in the Florida Keys, and I serve as the president of our local animal shelter. As passionate animal lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, we enjoy sharing our adventures with family, friends, and our dogs. Our children; Jaden Chief of Coast Guard Station, Key West and daughter, Hanna a veterinarian still visit the cottage every summer!

We hope you'll create wonderful memories here and come to love Halibut House and the beauty of coastal Maine as much as we do.

The Views are breathtaking, the wildlife is abundant, nature is so pristine here. Some of our favorite things to do:
*Enjoy our morning coffee and evening spirits on the deck while chatting with friends and watching our pups romp in the yard!
*Eat seafood; lobsters, clams, mussels, halibut, salmon, haddock, etc., YUM!
* Light house exploring is fantastic; there are four in under ten miles.
* Digging for clams; check which beaches are open before you go.
* Lunch ferry to historic Eastport, Deer Island, St. Andrews, Gran Manan or Blacks Harbor; you are sure to see whales on the ride!
Arcadia National Park is close enough for a day trip.
*Cherryfield is the blueberry capital of the world; it is a nice day trip with lots of antique shops, farms (alpaca and farm stands, breweries and a few vineyard tours along the way.
*Whale watching and puffin tours are always a great time!
*Bar Harbor is a quick day trip and has a fun downtown area.
*Walk to dinner in downtown Lubec and catch the seals playing under the bridge to Canada or behind Waterstreet Tavern.
*Sea glass hunting. Our bay, Johnson's Bay, was once home to 7 sardine factories; locals always say it is the best for treasure hunting!
*Hiking! The number of local trails and parks is astounding! Cobscook Shores is a series of fifteen extraordinary parklands nestled along the Cobscook Bay. There are 11 other well-known trails and parks within the local area.
