Fall asleep to the sound of the ocean in this beautifully restored, stand-alone beach cottage, built in 1911. It has all the charm of its age coupled with modern conveniences such as portable AC units, washer & dryer, TV and wifi. A charming front yard filled with flowers and a white picket fence greet you, and a cozy front porch is a delightful place to enjoy the ocean breeze. The private backyard features a gas BBQ, garden patio and a secluded hot tub. Situated just minutes from La Jolla Village, La Jolla Cove and Bird Rock, there are many wonderful dining options and family activities at your doorstep. Sea World and the San Diego Zoo are a 20-minute drive. Best of all, the world famous Windansea Beach is just steps away!

Please note: The property manager lives full-time in the neighborhood.

Our host was amazing and very responsive to messages. Beautifully restored cottage with everything we needed for a long weekend stay. Centrally located for everything we wanted to do (the zoo, Torrey Pines, USS Midway, Coronado Island). Very quiet neighborhood just a short walk from the beach and a short walk or drive to SO many restaurants. We felt very safe there and had windows and doors open to enjoy the gorgeous weather. The house was spotless! We would stay here again without hesitation!

We loved this cottage by Windansea beach. It is a very cozy comfortable home. The location is incredible. The house is a very short walk to the beach. Within a block there are several great spots to eat and a very nice market . It is also an easy 15 minute walk to Pearl street with many more dining options including an excellent fish market, an Afghan restaurant and much more. A really sweet cottage in a great beach neighborhood.

Great location close to beach om a charming neighborhood. Nice hottub. But, house was musty smelling, esp. in master bedroom, the jalousie windows in the main bathroom were impossible to close and had no screens, hence a lot of flies at mealtimes; only 2 handtowels and washclothes were provided (though plenty of bath towels, and the agent did come up with a few more eventually), no tissues, the water filtration system in the kitchen produced only a trickle, carpet nails were sticking up from several carpeted areas, the front steps lack a readily accessible banister and seem unlikely to be code-compliant, no mirrors in the bedrooms, no dressers in the bedrooms or anywhere else, no microwave or dishwasher, and although the listing said the place is air-conditioned, that came down to a portable air conditioner with a hose to stick out the window that was extremely noisy and only had any effect in the particular room you put it in. For the high rate we paid, we expected more.

Excellent stay

Fantastic neighborhood and such a neat cottage house, so close to the beach, walking distance to an excellent coffee shop and market place store, 7-11 etc but otherwise very quiet and tranquil. We had a great stay and everything was as advertised. The house is charming, not new but that is the charm. We loved it!

We had an amazing stay in this perfect beach cottage! Lots of charm in the house itself and it’s very tastefully decorated, too. Beds were comfy and the house had everything we needed. The location was fantastic- a quick walk to the beach in one direction (we loved watching the surfers) and a quick walk for coffee in the other direction. Owners were very easy to work with. We’d stay again in a heartbeat!

Stayed here for a week with my adult daughters. This house was exactly what we were looking for. The location was perfect and it was such a lovely place to spend our time relaxing! Loved staying here and would definitely consider it in the future!

Perfect cottage near Windansea Beach

This quaint little cottage perfectly fit our needs. It was just me and my three kids, but we could have easily fit two more people. The house itself is charming with a lush garden and cozy interior space. While it is an older home, the updates improved accessibility without altering the original design. The hot tub in the back was a lovely added touch. The location is ideal with a three minute walk to the beach and a three minute drive to downtown La Jolla. There are also plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance. I would stay here again and have already recommended the home to friends and family.

Quiet Beach Getaway

A lovely quiet house with a short walk to the beach. The house is clean and has all you need for a family or friend getaway. Beds were comfortable and the process to check in was a breeze. Highly recommend.

Perfect Family Spot!

This charming beach cottage was a perfect home base for my two pre-teen boys and mom while we explored La Jolla and the surrounding area. The location was perfect - a block from the beach and steps away from a market for breakfast essentials. A quick drive or 1.5mi walk to La Jolla center and sea lion hangouts! We loved the hot tub and the convenience of laundry. The garden and outdoor space was impressive and fresh flowers inside were a lovely touch! Highly recommend and would stay again!

A perfect stay, hard to leave!

We absolutely loved our stay - the cottage and grounds were absolutely beautiful and incredibly charming. The rooms were spacious, the beds very comfortable, and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. With four adults and a three year old, there was plenty of space for the group to hang out together or separately, inside or outside, and everyone was comfortable and happy. We would have loved a few extra weeks and are already talking about returning. We enjoyed watching birds visiting the flowers in the yard and spending time with the cat who visited too - he’s a sweetie!

Great for my family

Our family of four and grandpa stayed here and it was perfectly suited for our needs. Simple setup in the home. The boys loved the bunk beds. Easy walk to the beach. We will return to this home in the future if available

Long weekend get away

We loved this home for our long weekend. We didn’t rent a car and walked all over. There are good restaurants and coffee shops and a nice little market right up the block. The hot tub was just what the doctor ordered. We were a short walk from the beach and could see it from the sidewalk of the house. Great weekend. Great location.

Great beach getaway

We stayed there with our 3 kids, ages 1, 2, and 4 and had a great time. The place was very kid friendly and even had a blackout shade in the kids room. Would love to come back here again!

Great beach house

We loved our stay at this house right down the street from Windansea Beach! Lovely garden on the property and front porch that is perfect for morning coffee or evening glass of wine. It's in a great neighborhood with lots of coffee shops and restaurants walkable nearby. Would definitely stay again- Crystal is a great host!

No dishwasher weather cold and no throw blankets on sofas ant traps on kitchen floor very unappealing no bars of soap just pumps manager was attentive and responsive but after renting many homes in La Jolla this I would not recommend or stay again
