Nestled in a quiet, peaceful forest setting by Sheridan Lake, this 4-bed home with den and 3 bathrooms offers the perfect Black Hills retreat. Located just outside Hill City, surrounded by miles of forest to explore, close to attractions like Custer State Park and Mt. Rushmore. This vacation getaway features a fully equipped kitchen, large deck, ideal for family meals and get-togethers. Close to Hill City grocery and restaurants, while offering the ideal balance of seclusion and convenience.

The home sits on multiple acres within the Black Hills National Forest with access to forest service roads. Host resides on adjacent property but the residence still provides privacy during your stay.

It was a really nice place to stay. Big and roomy, clean, and had everything we needed! The kids (and adults) loved visiting with the donkeys, horses and goats. Atv trails right off the property! Owners were great to work with. Close to everything! Highly recommend Blue Bell Lodge Chuck wagon!! Would love to come back!!

It truly is a hidden gem. Enjoyed daily hikes up the mountains surrounding the home. The lovely deck, the wildflowers, spacious and well equipped home, convenient location/proximity to Hill City, Custer, Mt . Rushmore, Wildlife Loop, Sheridan Lake Beach, to name a few. 11 of us, ages 6 weeeks to 69 loved hanging out on the deck, grilling, dining at the beautiful picnic table, and sitting by the gas fireplaces on cool evenings. Indoors we enjoyed movie nights, the game room and family meals together in the dining area. Watched the turkeys, chipmunks and deer out the windows. We stayed a week and would love to come back to this home. Our host was very courteous and helpful with any questions we had, before and during our stay. Thank you, Mikkel

Heart of the Black Hills

This was a great house for our family of 10. The location made it centrally located in the heart of the Black Hills. We loved it was tucked away in the forest.

Very clean and spacious home. Probably the most well-appointed home our family has ever stayed in . . . from the many appliances to cookware to baking and storage containers to games, air mattresses, etc. You name it, it was provided. Open kitchen and dining room with extra large kitchen table allowed our group to eat together as well as play cards/games together. BBQ grill and two large picnic tables on the huge deck allowed for outside dining in the beautiful SD weather. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating . . . very obvious that they take pride in providing the comforts of home to those away from home. Thank you for caring and for sharing your beautiful home with our family. We would definitely choose your home again if staying in SD.

Great family gathering

The property was located in a cental area for some of the best highlights in the Black Hills. Amenities were amazing and property beautiful. Hosts were welcoming. We did have a power outage which also affected all water supply, causing issues of the group of 9 to be able to use bathrooms or prepare food. Suggest a generator for this location. Also, some policies needed better clarification prior to booking this property.

Christmas Vacation Stay

This hiuse was where I took my family for their Christmas Vacation. Yes Christmas vacation in May. Kids wanted to go fishing. This house has everything you can think of. Kitchen is fully stocked. House was very spacious. Property manager was always available when questions raised. Very beautiful place to stay.

Beautiful

We had 12 adults and 3 kids, spacious and enough room at the kitchen table to all play games. This is a beautiful and peaceful area to stay. The owners thought of everything. There was beach towels, games chairs, picnic tables, coffee and other condiments, well stocked. The rooms were clean and nice. The house was beautiful and spotless. We'll definitely be planning on staying here again.

Great location for a family gathering

Really great place! The house is really amazing. Plenty of space for the whole family. It's quiet and conveniently located for exploring the surrounding area. The lake is super close. We have had several rentals in this area over the years, and this is one of the best in my opinion.

Family Get Away

Very happy with the property and the living space. The host had nearly everything we may have needed! It was centrally located to all things Black Hills that our family wanted to experience. We did have a little confusion when the gate was closed when we returned from an outing, but we opened and closed it again. If we had 1 suggestion, it would be some blackout curtains in the bedrooms. Thanks again for the great place to stay!

Excellent property

The owners were very friendly and quick to respond. They went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. This house is very well stocked! Everything that you need is right there from kitchen essentials, extra bedding, to kid supplies. Lots of entertaining things for kids to do with yard games, books and indoor games. We would definitely stay here again if we are back in the area!

Family Vacation

We had a wonderful stay at the Be Still Lodge! It was stocked with everything we needed! Lots of room for the whole family! Beautiful location - close enough to every where we wanted to go. Also lots of indoor and outdoor games for everyone! We would definitely stay here again! The hosts are great!

Perfect Gathering Place for a group

There were 5 couples that used this home as our landing while riding UTV’s in the Hill City area. There was plenty of parking for 5 rigs and our pickup and trailers. Very well stocked with anything you may need from kitchen utensils to towels and bedding. Decorated with a flair that reflected the Hosts love for their Mini Highlander and their horses and donkeys. We hope to be back again soon.

Fantastic family vacation

What a perfect place to stay!! Even with the Sturgis motorcycle rally going on, we had a beautiful, peaceful place to stay and make wonderful family memories. The boys loved the fishing and the girls loved petting the animals. The house was so well stocked with dishes, cookware, towels, etc. to take care of a large group. Exceptional hosts!!!
