Lofty Expectations is a design-forward escape that redefines what a mountain getaway can look like. Forget the expected log-and-plaid aesthetic — this is raw concrete, warm wood, exposed metal, and curated art that together create a space that feels like a boutique hotel dropped into the middle of a mountain town.

The open-concept main living area is bathed in natural light from tall windows that frame views of Burnsville's town square below and the Blue Ridge in the distance. The gourmet kitchen is fully stocked with high-end appliances, sleek countertops, and everything you need to cook a proper meal — or simply to make excellent coffee before walking downstairs to the café directly below the building.

Two bedrooms — a king and a queen — are designed for deep sleep, with premium mattresses, crisp linens, and blackout window treatments. Both bathrooms are spa-caliber, with upscale fixtures and thoughtful touches throughout.

Loved the stay here! Loved the Java Coffee shop below the rental. We had a little bit of trouble with the elevator and the key pad lock on the door, but the host was super communicative and helpful without delay. The condo was beautifully decorated, super clean, and very comfortable. Loved the desk, kitchen, bathrooms, and living room space. Easy to walk to the shops and restuarants. There was some road noise and construction but it wasn't a worry at quiet times/hours.

Best of Burnsville

Check-in was easy if you completely follow the very detailed instructions left by the host. This place looks like an interior decorator’s heaven. And the location is perfect for anything you want to do in Burnsville and it’s within walking distance. Neighborhood was quiet and very safe. Host is very responsive to any questions you may have.

Thoughtful accommodations

We had a wonderful stay in the condo. It was beautifully decorated, and so comfortable that we opted to stay in and cook for several meals after enjoying the town during the day. Hosts were clear about access instructions and responsive to any communication.

Amazing place, lots of love and care was put into design as well as being very welcoming! We could not have asked for a better location, being above Appalachian Java sure was a bonus! We can’t wait to book again!

Fall delight

Carries place was perfect. Right in the downtown square and food within minutes and walkable. The bedrooms were comfortable and the master tub was Devine!! Large kitchen and comfortable living space. Highly recommend

Classy place

This little loft was a nice retreat in between many towns that I needed to visit- hickory, Asheville. Spruce pine and green mountain. This place had a wonderful, clean and new feel to it. We thoroughly enjoyed the oasis after long days of running around.

A Lovely Space

This beautifully decorated space in a cool building right at the center of downtown was perfect for my son and me. The apartment was very nicely appointed, with everything that one would need. It was very comfortable as well as being lovely. It was also located so that we could walk to restaurants and shopping. It was a great experience!!

Lofty Expectations

This beautiful loft condo was awesome. The owners were easy to communicate with and were timely with responses. The condo was very spacious, "home away from home", great walking location to many shops and restaurants. We're looking forward to a return trip and staying longer than a weekend to enjoy all the outstanding amenities of this condo and the surrounding area. Anniversary Trip

We had a relaxing and enjoyable getaway at Lofty Expectations. The condo was immaculate and contained everything we needed. We stayed for three days, and did not need to drive anywhere. There were several casual restaurants, a craft brewery, a tap room, shops and bookstores all within walking distance. All communications with the hosts were answered promptly, and Carrie and Jeff were welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity to return to Burnsville.

Mountain Getaway

My husband and I were set on exploring the area and had read good things about Burnsville. First of all, the condo is gorgeous and has everything you need. It is spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The town is so friendly and there are several good restaurants/bars all of which we could walk to from where we were staying. Second, Burnsville is a great spot to stay. We hiked 4 different trails on as many days, and saw Biltmore another and all were easy to get to from town. Our hosts were very communicative and helpful. We hope to return!

We LOVE Lofty Expectations!

Lofty Expectations is a lovely condo in the heart of Burnsville. We decided on a whim to visit the Biltmore and found this condo to be the perfect place to stay for the weekend. Beautifully decorated, fully stocked with everything you need and best of all conveniently located. We enjoyed going to the Saturday farmer's market, shopping in the local stores (Burnsville Candle Company & Something Special Gift Shop were our faves) and the pizza at Hog Hollow Wood Fire Pizza was delicious. We will definitely visit this adorable town again and when we do we will absolutely stay at Lofty Expectations!

Walk to all the restaurants and shops in downtown Burnsville! Enjoy the residential elevator to help with luggage or if you just want to skip the stairs. Being in town, you will never have to worry about steep mountain terrain or getting stuck in snow!
High end appliances and upscale furnishings adorn the space. The town coffee shop is directly below you and all other shops and restaurants are all in close proximity as well!
So much to do in Burnsville! You can hike to Set Rock Falls or Roaring Fork Falls, go horse back riding in Pisgah National Forest, book a stargazing experience at Bare Dark Sky Observatory, schedule a candle making class at Burnsville Candle Company or a glass blowing class at Hearth & Glass gallery. In the summer, go see a play at Parkway Playhouse. Also, be sure to check out Homeplace Brewery and The Carriage House calendars. Not only do they have amazing food but also provide live music most weekends. Bird Foot (located behind the Hearth & Glass) is a craft beer establishment that offers a food truck (most nights) that you can enjoy great food by their cozy firepit. We partner with Your Upgraded Vacation that ,for an additional fee, can stock the fridge before you arrive, drop off a charcuterie board for you to nibble on during your stay. You can even schedule an in house massage and/or cooking classes and wine pairings to enjoy! If this is of interest to you, we will send you to their website to book.
