Beautifully modern Balinese inspired cottage, situated in a 5 acre tropical and exotic botanical garden.

A stunning, fully fenced private space for up to 4 people to relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the surrounding Balinese water garden.

For the exclusive use of Bliss Cottage guests, there is a large deck with adjoining private plunge pool, Balinese water garden and a large Balinese hut with sunken private 5-person spa, plus daybeds and swinging chairs to hang out in, a truly amazing space for you to fully relax in.

Bliss Cottage is finished to the highest level of quality featuring, inside a spacious lounge area, with a huge 4 person daybed overlooking garden, The space has a wood fire combustion heater for those cool winter evenings and air conditioning for those hot summer nights. Bifold doors open the whole of the kitchen and lounge space to the large deck outside.
The Cottage features a beautifully modern kitchen with timber bench tops crafted from a tree on the property with high-quality kitchen appliances and timber bifold windows opening out onto a servery for indoor/outdoor eating.

There are two bedrooms, both with ensuite bathroom; the main has a cloud-like Queen sized bed with large ensuite bathroom with stone Balinese bath opening out on to private garden, the second has two sumptuous king singles (which can be fastened together on request to make a king).

The property was not clean. Numerous cockroaches throughout our stay.4 coffee capsules for 3 people staying 3 nights was inadequate. Given we were a little way from shops I would have expected some milk on arrival.Mosquitos meant we couldn’t use the hot tub. No coils obvious

Great Stay

Beautiful place located in a special part of the world. Jonathan & Suz excellent hosts and we highly recommend a stay here amongst an oasis of plants. They have thought of everything and extremely well set up with everything we needed.

Absolutely amazing!!

This slice of heaven on earth is absolutely breath-taking! Jonathan and Susie pay great attention to care and detail and have created a beautiful private oasis. I stayed here for part of my honeymoon and it was absolutely magical. From check in to check out everything was very easy and convenient. The place is very clean and spotless and contains every amenity you could possibly need. It is only 25 minutes away from Byron Bay although we didn't really leave the accommodation as it had a pool and jacuzzi. I 100% recommend this stay and will definitely be coming back!

Peaceful getaway

The Sanctuary is such an amazing place for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We had the most relaxing time away. The tranquil surroundings, the peace and quiet, spa, pool, night lighting and that kitchen! Susie and Jonathan we’re wonderful hosts, the dogs such an added bonus. Would highly recommend!

Lovely ‘Babymoon’ Getaway

Me and my partner had a wonderful time relaxing and making good use of the facilities at this property. The plunge pool, spa and gardens were amazing. Short enough distance for a day trip to Byron too which was nice. Overall loved the property, thank you!

Excellent Proporty

We have seen many holiday homes in the world, but this fantastic holiday home, was one of the best, in which we unfortunately only spent two wonderful days. Thank you again Jonathan and his lovely wife who received us warmly and for the great hospitality during our stay. Delicious was the homemade honey, which we received on arrival. The house was very clean and exclusively equipped. The house and the lovingly landscaped garden in the Balinese style has us very excited. The proximity to the beautiful Byron Bay we found very beneficial. The price / performance ratio is absolutely justified. We will gladly recommend the house. Sanctuary in a sanctuary

We enjoyed a fantastic four nights stay at Sanctuary Cottage. The peace and tranquility of this beautiful cottage is to be experienced to be believed. It has everything you need for a lovely relaxing stay, it was lovely to wander the garden and hear the bird sounds while sat on the deck. The bed was extremely comfortable and luxurious, the kitchen and bathroom has everything you need to make your stay at the cottage complete. Jonathon and Susie were the perfect hosts and only too pleased to help make your stay a pleasurable one.

Relax, relax, relax!

We had everything we needed in the cottage; really well appointed with all the mod cons but still felt simple & not overdone. We spent most almost all of the weekend on the deck which was private and comfortable, with gorgeous garden and trees to look upon. Jonathan was very gracious to arrange for clothes left in the cupboard to be mailed back! Thank you!!

Lovely spot and lovely hosts

We really loved our stay. Beautiful gardens, relaxing doing yoga on the deck, lounging in the day bed. Really peaceful and relaxing. Great hosts - they even brought us fresh eggs and honey from the garden! You are about 15mins from Brunswick Heads so consider buying what you need in advance. A couple of minor improvements would be to: a) have a recycling and compost bin; b) a few board games or magazines for wet weather; and c) the gas stove wasn't working brilliantly for us.

Lovely property

Lovely cottage set in beautiful garden. It looks just like the photos! Comfortable bed and well appointed kitchen and BBQ facilities. We needed a mini break just to unwind, relax and enjoy sleep-ins in a really quiet place, so we were really surprised and pretty disappointed to have several tradesman arrive at 6.30am one morning to begin work around the property. This work and early start should have been mentioned to us at the time of booking and we would have probably changed our dates. We would have given this place 5 stars otherwise, communication with your guests is key.

Beautiful property!

My partner and I stayed at Sanctuary in the Pocket for 4 nights and could not have felt more at home. The interior was luxurious with everything you could need/want and the day bed on the verandah looking over the luscious gardens was amazing! We were out and about quite a bit and the location really wasn't too far from anything- quite central to go in any direction really (Mullumbimby, Brunswick heads, ocean shores all pretty close by!). Jonathan and Susie were lovely and we had some great chats with them too. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

Very tranquil and relaxing stay!

My partner and I had a wonderful stay in The Cottage. The Cottage itself is a lovely space and very well equipped with baliesque decorations. We were great by Jonathan and his wife who were very welcoming hosts and a bottle of wine which went down nicely. We text them multiple times over the long weekend and they were very forth coming with tips on walking and restaurants, everything they suggested we enjoyed thoroughly. It's located just a little away from everything which is what we were after. A 15 min drive will get you to the beach and Mullumbimby. Waking up each morning to the lush garden view was very peaceful and the only disappointment was that we only had 4 days and weren't ready to leave!

Peaceful and perfectly located.

Luxury & Comfort, a relaxing getaway

Wow! The cottage is beautifully appointed with everything you need to be comfortable and relax. Highlights for us were the fireplace, high quality furnishings and finishes, wifi/netflix access, clean and tidiness, deck with day bed, and access to the surrounding area for picnics. The perfect place to getaway for my husband and I for some R&R on our babymoon. After a week at the Sanctuary, it really felt like a home away from home. We hope to be back again soon and highly recommend this property to others.

A Slice of Paradise

My wife and I spent an enjoyable weekend at The Cottage - beautiful and peaceful location, very private with quality furnishings and appliances. The back deck looks over a beautiful garden area. We hope to return for a longer stay next time to explore more of the surrounding countryside and nearby beach areas.

A Piece of Paradise!

My daughter and I stayed at The Sanctuary in the Pocket for a wonderful 2 nights recently. It is a simply wonderful place to stay when you are in the Byron region. The cottage is lovely with a stunning outlook over an expansive garden. Also loved the wonderfully green and peaceful valley location. Will definitely stay again.

One of the most beautiful places I have stayed

I can't express how gorgeous this place is. My partner and I stayed five nights in January 2016. The Pocket is only 15 mins from Mullumbimby and 20 mins from Byron driving on some very beautiful country roads. It is comfortable and has everything you need. Peaceful and quiet. It is a beautiful property. The hosts are lovely people. They are there if you need them (we didn't) which is great but we only spotted them once during our five days. I cannot recommend this property enough!

The whole area is beautiful, however, we found that this valley, The Pocket offered the best of both worlds. Easy access to a buzzing lifestyle with great shops, art, beaches & access to airports plus our own tropical private oasis lifestyle.
It is beautifully peaceful, in a lovely rural valley with cattle and horses, but is very close to the beautiful Ocean beaches of New Brighton and South Golden (10 Minutes) and the lovely townships of Mullumbimby and Brunswick Heads (10 Minutes). Byron Bay is only 20 minutes away and the Gold Coast airport is 25 minutes away.
Wonderfully centrally located, whilst also being incredibly quiet and peaceful.

We both fell in love with this property from the moment we came through the front gates, feeling welcome as we opened Bali Doors and explored hand made Bali style villas that had been built with love and care so many thoughtful touches had gone into their design. The gardens won us over as we could feel nature was recharging us from our first visit. 5 acres of beautifully mature rainforest garden, with an amazing variety of huge trees, fresh fruit and exotic plants. To cap it all off there is a beautiful creek that runs through one side of the property. Sitting quietly in the garden is an absolute pleasure, listening to the sounds of the water flowing and birds singing.
