3-night Paris vacation

This place was pretty much just as described (though I felt the bathroom was a bit smaller than expected). Wonderful location and well kept. The host was extremely kind and available. We were there during a heat wave so we had a really tough time sleeping in the loft without air conditioning. Aside from not having air-conditioning it had everything we needed. Again, fantastic location.

Staircase from hell

There were no hospitality items, simple items such as coffee and tea, kitchen towels, napkins, paper towels etc. the staircase is dangerous. There were French fries in the “couch” which is a broken down futon. Do not stay here!

Fun location

Location was great for the Paris feel without all the big tourist attractions. We had already done the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, etc before staying at Maikel’s property, so it was okay to not be walkable that part of the city. Instead, this property is walkable to many fun cafes, food stands, and shops, including all the shops you need to make your own charcuterie! Cozy and clean property.

Big disappointment

The property was a major disappointment as the picture showed a light bright apartment, which it was not. The street was more of an alley than a charming street. The winding staircase up to the bed was very narrow and dangerous. I slipped down the stairs. The bathroom was the size of a closet and nowhere to put on makeup or do hair. The clothes dryer was more of a fan than a dryer. No amenities whatsoever. I am shocked at how this property got so many 5 star reviews. It was so bad we opted to forgo our full amount paid and went to a nearby hotel instead. We contacted the host and told him that we were unable to stay in his property. We have not received any satisfactory response, nor any financial adjustment. If I could give this property is zero rating I would. Big disappointment.

Details Matter

90% there in design to optimize the small space, but harrowing stairs, slippery shower floor, no hooks for towels, no working coffee machine or live TV and a “loveseat” that was not at all comfortable, so went to bed many nights just to have a comfortable place to view my IPad in place of the TV. The cleaning crew did not deliver a clean apartment with wadded up blankets and old magazines stuffed in a wooden container, small refrigerator that needed defrosting in order to allow ice cubes. Kitchen was not at all “well equipped”. No paper towels, no replacement garbage bags and owner expected me to find Bosch descaling tablets (tried for four days) and descale the coffee pot myself to make it work. A single sheet of laminated “tips” would have made my stay so much easier - like where the closest metro station was or what was a reputable Taxi company or even how to work the TV remotes. Location was the only thing going for this place. Details matter.

Please note that this is a very small appt. Uncomfortably so for us. Nice location-- had a great time in Paris. Did not feel well designed for accommodating-- for example tiny trash can that became full very quickly, coffee maker but no coffee or instructions, no storage space. The ladder/stairs to bed is exceptionally steep, would not recommend if elderly, with children, or pregnant.

Location Location!

Perfect location for walking the Left Bank and beyond. Apartment is small but works. Would caution the over 80 year olds that the stairs to the bed are extremely steep and not to be negotiated in the middle of the night!

Very small but quaint stay in the perfect location. Walking distance to bakeries/ restaurants/ and the market. Walked out Sunday morning to live music right outside our door.

Convenient little property

Property is in a good neighbourhood and easy to get to Metro station. Nice shops and cafes around. Perfect location for us as it was a little out of the main city but still easy to get to. Downside of the property was the bed was uncomfortable and rolled into the middle. The sofa wasn’t great. As a 6’1” man, the shower was very small and I needed to stoop to use it. Once you get over how small the property is, it ideal for a base to explore Paris and we strongly recommend a wander up to and round Jardin des Plantes and Jardin des Luxembourg plus a trip on the Bato Bus along the river.

Nice & clean in a good neighborhood

Small, but it's got all you need - and very clean. It is located perfectly in the 5th arrondissement close to both the latin quarter and Saint-Germain which are great areas for a Parisian stroll. All communication with the host was smooth and Maikel was very proactive and serviceminded. We'd love to come back!

Wonderful Stay!

We had a great stay. The apartment is pretty and clean. The location is fantastic! The neighborhood has a local feel and lots of cafes and shops. The Metro is a short walk and takes you to all the best places in Paris. The owners are very good to work with. Very good stay for one/two person Paris trip.

Great location - quiet

This tiny apartment is in a great location and very quiet. It's also very safe. There's a window that is essentially at the street level that a person could walk in. We accidentally left it open all day when we were out about in Paris and nothing happened to our belongings. While I wouldn't do that on a regular basis, it was nice to know that it was that safe of a neighborhood. That said this is a TINY space with a tiny bathroom. If you do stay here, we highly recommend the café nearby Vjillage Monge. We ate there a couple times and had a fantastic meal and a great time each visit.

Wonderful little flat in a great neighbourhood

The flat is small but lovely, clean, well equipped and located in a fantastic neighbourhood. It’s perfect for one to two people with many cafes and shops near by and good access to tourist destinations by tube/taxi or a longer walk, which we enjoyed. Maikel is a great host, easy to contact and friendly.

Fun apartment in Perfect Location

My wife and I really enjoyed staying in this apartment. Yes, it is small. But we have stayed in multi-star Paris hotels that were no bigger. Very private, safe, and had all the things we needed to make coffee / tea and have snacks.Stairs to bed are steep but I'm 70 and my wife has knee issues and we did just fine. Best Feature: Location for sure. The apartment is on a quiet alley where just a few steps away is an amazing street. The street is literally a mini-Paris. Cafes (of all types), wine, cheese, pastries, shops etc. And far smaller tourist to local ratio. Waiters sat with us and chatted about their families. We could have just stayed within a few blocks and been very happy. But you can easily walk to the river as we did to see the main Paris sights. We will definitely return when again we are in Paris.

Great location

Very nice clean and updated little loft apartment. Super location on vehicle free streets with shops and lots of food options very near plus metro station really close so easy to venture out and visit Paris and nice to return to for a comfortable sleep.

Tiny but lovely and perfectly situated

Maikel’s apartment served as a wonderful home base for exploring all of Paris. We walked to many of the attractions and when we needed to rest our tired feet we could easily access the metro which is minutes away. The apartment is tiny but has everything you need. The stairs are steep to the loft which could be an issue for some but we were able to handle easily. Shockingly quiet for being on the side street to a beautiful bustling street le moufftard. Highly recommend!

Charming Neighborhood, excellent access to public transit

Perfect little apartment in a great location! Quick access to the metro, nearby great food and markets and away from the noise in a secluded alley. Easy check in and out— Maikel was lovely! A great place for one or two people (you should definitely be comfortable with the person you are staying with because it is intimate)

Fabulous location!

This apartment had everything we needed for our getaway to Paris. It was in a great location, so we were able to walk everywhere. Steps from Rue Mouffetard - lots of great shops and places to eat! The place itself was tiny, but had all the amenities. The bed was comfortable and the shower was luxurious. The only two minor drawbacks (which weren’t really problems for us) were the steep stairs down from the bedroom loft (after a couple of cocktails, be careful) and the proximity to the street. You could hear street noise loud and clear when people walked by on the cobblestones, but that was mostly during the day. It’s a pedestrian way, so no vehicle noise, and we didn’t have trouble with noise overnight. Overall, a very pleasant place to stay!
