Welcome to our secret Shangri La of the Sierras! This studio guest house is on our private 1 acre property. We live in the main house. The guest house has its own private entrance and fenced in yard. This natural setting is peaceful yet close to everything you need. 7 minutes from HWY 50. Free range chickens and bunnies on main property. Not a good place for loud noise or partying but a calm quiet place to hide and restore yourself. Please note we do not offer bookings over 29 days. Thanks so much and safe travels!

Yes very welcoming. We thought the furniture was very uncomfortable. Had to leave a day early because of the weather system coming in. We really only slept there.

We loved it here! The host was excellent with communication and the place was better than we hoped. Beautiful book selection, tasteful decor, private backyard (a must for our dogs and parking, I could keep going but don’t wait book this wonderful place! We will certainly be back as we have family in the area.

This property was thoughtfully laid out and stocked. We only had to provide our own groceries! The owner really thought of everything. We would definitely stay there again!

Beautifully furnished interior; convenient amenities; very charming. The owner spent time and attention to details was obvious. iPhone chargers, CD’s, etc. Felt completely at home, without the impersonal atmosphere of a hotel, at the same price.

my family had an event in Shingle Springs and we ended up staying at this wonderful place. I don't usually write reviews but wanted to let other people know of this gem. Sarah was very accommodating to any requests we had. It was very clean, cute with books for all ages and DVD videos. There is a regular size fridge (love it) and anything you need to be able to cook meals there. The yard is safely fenced in and we had our puppy and that worked out great. There is a washer and dryer. It is a few minutes from my favorite place Lotus Park - Bring water toys. We stopped and got the best sandwiches from "Sourdough Sandwich Place" only a few minute away. Restaurants and shopping minutes away. I plan on staying there each time I am up near Shingle Springs. Most relaxing trip I have been on in years. Please check it out ! It will be well worth it. One other thing if you have kids and they like to race cars or go bowling you can go to Red Hawk Casino in Placerville for an adventure for the day.

Local getaway

Mt husband and I needed a place to stay for a couple of weeks while our house was on the market. This location fit the bill. Quiet, well located neighborhood with a great host. AND our furry family members were welcome! Would stay again.

You’re going to want to stay here…

Just the cutest little spot! I found myself wishing I had longer to stay. It was just me and the space was wonderful but it would be comfortable for a couple or two friends or a parent/child. It was peaceful and quiet and absolutely adorable. Comfy bed, thoughtful extras like chargers near the bed & near the couch, coffee pods and creamer cups, coloring books with colored pencils. The outdoor space was beautiful with mature trees! Wifi was great, TV had streaming options, and the fireplace with the flameless candles on top added so much charm. Host was friendly and communicative but nonintrusive. I hope to return sometime :) thank you for a great stay!

Quiet get away in an updated comfortable home

My pup and I needed a quiet place for the weekend while the airshow event was scheduled near our home and jets were were flying over the neighborhood. Loved staying at this quiet peaceful home. Nicely updated and comfortable home. Sarah is a great host (my dog Honey agrees)!

Quiet cozy NYE

We went up here for the long New Year’s weekend. The rental was very clean, well furnished, and had plenty of things for us to see, read and watch. We especially noticed the decorations from different cultures around the world. Well, we didn’t see chickens and bunnies this time we did see some deer and a very friendly cat. Highly recommend it.

Cozy & Convenient Cottage

We have stayed at the “Serene & Quiet Cottage” several times. It is always clean and cozy. We travel with our two golden retrievers and the fenced yard is very nice and convenient for them. Communication with the owner is always quick and easy. And the cottage is conveniently located for wineries, Apple Hill, downtown Placerville or other local sites. You do have to pass the high school to get to and from the cottage from Highway 50 or points north, so plan accordingly. It can be very congested at times!

The house was super charming. In a very quiet neighborhood would definitely come back love the way it was decorated the fireplace. Added such a warm coziness that was comfortable. Everything we needed was there.

Relaxing Stay in Shingle Springs

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this pleasant get-away. It was, as the title says, truly serene and quiet. There are a few things that are very important to us; a clean place, a comfy bed, and privacy. This VRBO has all of that and more. The host was available for us, yet, let us have our space. She thought of all the little details, i.e., extra pillows and blankets, new toothbrushes, bottled water in the refrigerator, along with many other extras. The kitchen was well equipped, the shower was divine, and we slept like babies on the comfortable bed. We especially liked all the DVDs that were available, along with games, books, and streaming shows on the television. This sweet cottage is close to many recreational spots. We visited Placerville, Sutter Creek and Jackson. South Lake Tahoe was our planned day trip, but the weather changed, so we stayed closer to home base. You will love staying here. It is very peaceful, and if you're lucky, you'll see some wildlife out the window!

Quiet Restful Cottage

This has been one of our favorite places to stay. The host thought of everything. The cottage had everything we needed to enjoy a quiet getaway from our busy lives. Ideal location to Red Hawk casino. We willdefinitely tell everyone and stay again.

We had a good stay with our two dogs. It is a cute little cottage. Everything was great. There are lots of nice touches and detail. For example, there are usb charging cords in the bedroom and living room. The only minor issue was the air conditioning. It is a portable unit and we were having a heat wave (111 degrees) so the little unit had to work really hard to keep the place cool. The fan was pretty loud. Under cooler circumstances, you could run it on a lower fan speed.
