The Great Escape was very clean, cozy and comfortable. We appreciated thoughtful touches like coffee and little snacks in the well stocked kitchen. Very convenient to the town of West Jefferson and Mt Jefferson.

The host was extremely welcoming and made the booking and check in process very simple. The cabin was beautiful and was packed with all of the creature comforts to make it feel like home. The cabin is secluded enough to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee on the wrap around porch but very close to town for restaurant and shopping activities. The gas fireplace, fast wifi, and pet friendly nature of the property make it an easy choice and somewhere we would certainly stay again.

We enjoyed the outside deck the most on this trip. Thanks for allowing dogs, and for having a gate on the deck so she could hang out there with us safely. Lots of great hiking in the area, we went to Mt. Jefferson twice, as well as Paddy Mountain and New River State Park.

Great place to stay.

The home was clean and welcoming. Excellent location to explore West Jefferson. Close to grocery store. Just down the road from Mount Jefferson, where my husband took our dog hiking every day. Would definitely return.

A breath of fresh air

We had a wonderful time this weekend with family at your cabin. This is our second stay and we can not thank you enough. It was just what the Dr ordered for all of us. A peaceful, beautiful cabin in a gorgeous location! Close to downtown West Jefferson and Boone. Our girls go to App and it is the perfect location to be away from the Boone traffic but an easy drive to get to campus. Thank you again for sharing your home with us.

Great Family Weekend at App State Students

We had a wonderful stay this weekend with our two girls who attend App State. Only 30 minutes to Boone and away from all the traffic! The cabin is beautiful and very relaxing. A great time spent with our girls where we could make them a home cooked meal and relax on the porch with the fire pit.

Great cabin close to everything!

Hubby and I needed to get away…booked this cabin last minute. Devon was immediately responsive!! Easy to get to. Bed was comfy, kitchen was the best stocked kitchen of any cabin we have stayed in. Only a mile from the Mount Jefferson Natural Park which was amazing ! Highly recommend!

Ladies weekend

We were a party of four ladies ranging in age of 47-70. The house was very comfortable during our stay and we felt very safe in the community & is close to shopping & downtown. One evening we saw deer crossing through the property after a light rain began to fall. It was a great weekend with family & friends and I would highly recommend this property to others. Check in was easy. Driveway is paved & the entrance to the home is level with easy access for those that may have some physical limitations. Check this one out!

Comfortable Cabin Retreat

My family and I decided to take a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives and travel up to the mountains. We loved everything about our stay. The cabin was well decorated, comfortable and had everything we needed while we were there. The owners were super responsive, kind and helpful. The cabin was conveniently located to grocery stores as well as restaurants and cute shops. Although the cabin is not in the middle of the woods we did not even notice the neighbors (we never heard them or saw them). We brought our pup and she loved the gated deck, the stream behind the house, the neighborhood loop and the state park up the road. I highly recommend staying here on your next visit to West Jefferson.

Great Escape- really perfect!

Home was in a great location close to town. We even had a little snow which we really liked. Everything was clean and kitchen fully stocked. Will definitely come back!

This was a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay for our weekend getaway to the mountains as a family. Our pups were so happy to be able to come along with us. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Christmas in The Great Escape!

The cabin was perfect for our family! The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to prepare our Christmas dinner. The bedrooms were comfortable and we enjoyed the bathroom with the large claw foot soaking tub. The owner’s were very responsive and we will definitely consider staying at the Great Escape on our next visit to West Jefferson, NC.

Perfect location!

The cabin is in an exclusive neighborhood that is right at the foot of Mt. Jefferson. Access to restaurants and shopping was two minutes down the road; hiking and sightseeing were five minutes up the road. Very comfortable accommodations in a private community. Lots of games and VIZIO TV plus late nights on the deck by the fireplace made for a perfect vacation. This really is a "Great Escape"! We will rent this one again soon!

Cozy Spot

While the weather was rainy and cold while we were there, it was the perfect cabin to stay inside. Enjoyed the gas logs and well-equipped kitchen. Very-nicely decorated. Our two Cavelier Spaniels enjoyed the gated, wrap-around covered porch.

The Great Escape Review

My husband and I stayed at the Great Escape in West Jefferson, North Carolina. The owners allowed us to bring our golden retriever, which was great. The house was perfect and had everything you needed for a stay in the mountains. The owners were very kind and helpful, and answered emails quickly. I highly recommend the Great Escape and hope to be back next summer!
