Beautiful cabin with amazing view. Clean. The small road to get to the driveway is a little scary at night, but they communicated upfront about that and left the light on for us.

We appreciate you letting us know you planned to arrive at night, we always like to try and leave a light on if possible, especially for evening arrivals. Our area is rural so there are not many lights while driving at night which can definitely make curvy roads and any steeper roadways feel daunting. Nice place that was very inviting. Plenty of space for my family if 4 to spread out. It was only about 1 hour from Boone and Blowing Rock which allowed us flexibility on what we wanted to do each day.

The cabin was cozy and comfortable. It’s correctly called “Sunrise Sensation” because the sunrises are breathtaking! The rocking chairs on the porch overlooking the mountainside are peaceful and relaxing. We had dozens of deer pass throughout the day. Hot tub is nice. The driveway is a sharp right turn but if you navigate it slowly you’ll be just fine. There are three blue reflectors marking off the well as you turn in. The main bed is tall but there’s a stool in the closet. A few suggestions for fellow travelers to bring: beach towels for hot tub, bath soap (some are provided but not adequate), and dryer sheets. We’ve stayed at several mountain cabins over the years in the area and this was a favorite. The owners did a great job making it feel like home!

Convenient location

Close to downtown and mostly paved roads to the driveway. The driveway could be a challenge for those not used to steep hills and there is only room for 2 vehicles, but other than that it is a clean, comfortable cabin with nice views and plenty of room.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we always appreciate guest feedback! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at Sunrise Sensation. The long range views from the porch are amazing, especially when you can catch the sunrise or sunset. This cabin does have a steeper paved driveway and can be accessed in any vehicle in normal driving conditions. We do always recommend 4WD and chains in the winter for all of our cabins, due to possible snow & ice. We hope we have the opportunity to host you again here or at any of other other cabin options in Ashe County!
