Town House does not describe "Breakers Six". This 3 bedroom oceanfront unit has 3 full floors of oceanfront living on the southern end of the building. Enjoy great views and a top floor master suite. Living, dining and kitchen are on the middle floor and there is a wooden walkway all the way from the unit to the large shared pool and deck area and then on to the beach. Your friends and family can spread out in this tastefully decorated home with updated furniture and finishings.
The Breakers are in the heart of Kill Devil Hills so if you can tear yourself away, there is shopping, dining and playing all very close by. We know you'll enjoy the Breakers Six and we hope it will become your vacation spot on the OBX.
**Please note that the VRBO service fee will be instantly charged upon booking by VRBO but all rents, host fees, and taxes will be processed by Cola Vaughan Realty within 24 hours of booking and Cola Vaughan Realty will handle all of the details of your stay**

Great location nearby many restaurants and activities. Cooking was difficult with the pans provided in the house so we bought our own down the street. Lots of bugs in the house (wolf spiders and cockroaches) which wasn't expected. But, the pool was great and the ocean was close by. Nice place.

We have no record of any issues during this guest's stay and always communicated with them professionally and promptly. Since there are no details in this review explaining their dissatisfaction, we can only assume that their negative feedback is due to one (or both) of the following interactions: 1. They wanted to bring a dog although the complex does not allow pets under any circumstances. When we informed them that we could not make an exception, they wanted to move to another property without undergoing the standard cancellation procedure which was not possible as we had already been holding this property for this guest for months. 2. On the evening of their arrival, the guest messaged us through VRBO saying that they did not know how to access the property. We sent check-in instructions by email multiple times prior to their arrival and forwarded those again later that same evening. We also told the guest in previous interactions prior to their arrival that we would be communicating directly by email or phone and that they should do the same for the most efficient response (rather than through VRBO). 3. The guest contacted us towards the end of their stay to ask about a package that they ordered to the rental property address that was apparently received by someone else. We did everything we could to track this down but ultimately we cannot be responsible for stolen packages and we generally do not recommend ordering packages at your short term rental for these kinds of reasons. We work very hard for our homeowners and guests and it is quite disappointing to receive a negative review about our business simply because this guest did not get their way or read their paperwork.

Short vacay

Condo was nice. The price on vrbo and the price I was charged were different which was a bit of an inconvenience at the last minute. Close to the beach however many steps and a steep dune to get to and from the beach. Peaceful and quiet and enjoyed my stay.

We went three days without hot water and struggled to reach the property management service for quite a while. The professionalism of the representative could have been a lot better. We did eventually get hot water but 4 girls and no hot water for 3 days is not good for the cost of these properties. There was zero offer to compensate us for the lack of facilities for those three days. We love the property but maybe the HOA should reconsider who manages their properties in the future.

Check-in was after 4 PM on Friday afternoon, July 4th and the guest did not contact us until after hours which made immediate service impossible. After sending both an electrician and general handyman to try to figure out the issue the next day, it was determined that the hot water heater was bad. This was not simple or obvious as the heater was only a few years old, hence the electrician coming out to investigate other potential causes. The hot water heater was replaced on Sunday - the guests were without hot water for less than 48 hours, not 3 days. The property management company, Cola Vaughan Realty, worked diligently to solve the issue within a very short timeframe over the holiday weekend. While we regret that this guest was without hot water for a couple of days, the framing of his experience is inaccurate. He said that "his daughters are in season" and he was rude and unreasonable toward multiple representatives and service people throughout several interactions.

Anniversary getaway

The unit is fairly nice. Only issue was management company not having unit properly ready for us. Arrived late evening to find thermostats off and inside temp was 86 degrees. Nearly impossible to breathe. 1.5 days later management responded, blaming owner. Other than some lint on the bathroom wall from the air vent the unit was clean. We enjoyed our stay. There is another building between this unit and the beach which isn’t represented in the pictures. But the beach is easily accessible. During our stay it was quiet and did not notice hotels next door. Enjoyed the microbrewery across the street. Place is convenient to everything. Other than those minor issues we would stay again

Good afternoon and thank you for your review. To clarify regarding the AC situation, we did not blame the homeowner who we are in partnership with. We explained that there must have been a misunderstanding, perhaps due to your booking only a few days before arrival, and that the homeowner likely changed the thermostat settings thinking that the unit was going to be empty for some time. The unit was cleaned and inspected prior to your arrival.
