Welcome to Ptarmigan Ranch, your spacious Wyoming retreat in the heart of the Wapiti Valley. Perfectly positioned halfway between the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park and the western town of Cody, this four bedroom, two bathroom home places you right in the middle of adventure. Spend your days exploring geothermal wonders, hiking scenic trails, taking in a trail ride or enjoying rodeos and museums in Cody, then return to wide open skies, mountain views, and the peaceful rhythm of Wyoming evenings. With room for up to eight guests, Ptarmigan Ranch is ideal for large families or groups traveling together.
Designed with an authentic cabin feel and barn inspired architecture, this home offers warm wood tones, expansive windows, and inviting gathering spaces. The large living area is perfect for relaxing after a full day outdoors, while the spacious kitchen makes cooking for a crowd easy and enjoyable. Step directly onto the deck to dine outside and take in the surrounding views. The main level features a primary suite with a king bed, picture windows, and an attached bathroom complete with double vanity, soaking tub, and step in shower. A second bedroom with two twin beds and an additional full bathroom with step in shower complete the main floor. Upstairs, two queen bedrooms with skylights and incredible views provide comfortable retreats for the rest of your group.
Outside, the setting truly shines. Gather under the pergola, enjoy meals on the deck, or settle in around the firepit with log seating to roast s'mores and watch the stars fill the Wyoming sky. Wildlife frequently passes through the area, adding to the authentic experience. Surrounded by mountain views and open space, Ptarmigan Ranch is the perfect basecamp for your Cody and Yellowstone adventure, offering comfort, space, and that true Wyoming cabin atmosphere.

*This cabin does not have air conditioning. Opening windows to let in the cooler mountain air at night will help keep temperatures comfortable.

We had a great stay. Nice, private location close to Yellowstone and Cody. The house was fully stocked with all essentials we needed. Great views of the mountains and it was enjoyable watching the deer that came on the property. The only complaint I would have is the lack of water pressure in the master bathroom shower.

Amazing stay!

We loved the space of the property and how it is in between Cody and Yellowstone which made it easy for all the things that we did. The views of the mountains were amazing too. The cabin had everything that we needed. The only bad was that the shower in the master bathroom didn’t have much pressure but the soaking tub was really nice. We would definitely stay again.

Ptarmigan Ranch

We loved our stay at Ptarmigan Ranch. The view from the home was wonderful. It was close to town and close to Yellowstone. There were 6 of us staying and the home was perfect. We even caught 2 trout in the stream on the property.

I was very clear that we needed four rooms for four adults. One of the four rooms did not have a bed? So we had someone sleeping on the couch the whole trip.

Location, Views, Home away from Home

Property was perfect for the family. Plenty of room for everyone. Looking out the windows to the snow capped mountains when you wake up was amazing. Mule Deer in the yard every day! Short drive to Cody, WY with all of the amenities plus just a few miles to the least entered gate into Yellowstone made for a enjoyable stay. Home was equipped with enough dishes to prepare any meal we wanted. Only down side to property we saw were cobwebs and dust in living areas. Had one issue with plumbing but was taken care of immediately when notified the rental. Would recommend to all.

Beautiful home

Very clean and spacious. Beautiful views. Well stocked kitchen. Short distance to both Yellowstone and Cody. Highly recommend this property.
