Regarding your suggestion to notify guests of power outages, we've never had such a request before, given that our backup generator seamlessly keeps everything running smoothly. However, if this is important to you, we're more than willing to accommodate it in the future by texting you about any outages during your stay. Regarding the laundry, there were only towels left in the dryer, which housekeeping planned to return and put away the next morning—you were not expected to finish any laundry. As for the dishes, we can assure you that no dirty dishes were left behind, though we understand that sometimes appliances may not function as expected, and we’ll certainly check the dishwasher to ensure it’s working properly. We understand that power issues can be disruptive, but as you mentioned, this was due to the power company and outside our control. However, we do have a generator on-site, so at no point were you left without power. We did our best to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and appreciate your patience. Our records and written communications with you during your stay clearly refute your claims. (copies below) Regarding the blender, you requested a larger one, and we provided a new blender the very next day. Similarly, when you mentioned a damaged umbrella, we promptly replaced it with two new large beach umbrellas. It is worth noting that the one day you were without an umbrella, the winds exceeded 25 MPH, making it impossible to use one safely. We do not advertise a heated outdoor shower; its purpose is to rinse off sand and saltwater. Your complaint about not having pH testing strips for the hot tub could have been resolved with a simple request during your stay. Our hot tub is professionally serviced by a leading pool company on the island, and we have never received such a request before. Contrary to your statement, you mentioned in writing that you “also have a rental property but not as nice as yours,” which does not suggest any dissatisfaction. Most importantly, you never mentioned theft or missing items during your stay. Your request for a $6,000 refund due to the outdoor shower, blender, and water testing kits, accompanied by a threat to leave a negative review, appears to be an attempt at blackmail. We take great pride in offering exceptional value with extensive daily housekeeping services that are typically found in properties costing five to ten times more.
