Welcome to Starshine Condo, a large and thoughtfully designed 1-bedroom stay just one block from Lake Pepin, the beach, and marina in the heart of Pepin, Wisconsin.

This inviting space features a king bed, a comfortable living area, and a fully equipped kitchen, making it a great fit for couples, solo travelers, and wedding guests.

What makes Starshine special is its playful charm. As the lights dim, a soft glow of stars appears across the bedroom ceiling, creating a relaxed and slightly magical atmosphere that guests of all ages tend to love.

The space is comfortable and complete, with everything you need for an easy stay, whether you're here for a wedding, a lake weekend, or just a quiet getaway.

The kitchen includes a full complement of cookware, bakeware, dishes, and utensils, along with coffee, spices, tea, and sugar. We also provide towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and a full set of beach towels and bags for your stay.

The location is one of the biggest advantages. Guests can walk to the Pepin Beach and Marina, as well as local favorites like the Harbor View Café, the Pickle Factory, and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum.

Spacious and clean

I appreciated the space in my rental! The kitchen seemed well stocked and clean. It wasn't anything fancy, but I was comfortable there and only a short walk to the water.

Great property with location near the waterfront & eateries. Definitely quiet on a Sunday evening, other than some noise from passing trains. Would definitely consider coming back if staying in Pepin again. It was a nice last night on our 4 day 1st anniversary trip

Great location

The place was plenty big and had everything you would need if you wanted to cook in. Walking distance to restaurants and the beach. Very clean and quiet.

Convenient to activities and restaurants

Super clean, and convenient location. Fall colors were spectacular up and down both sides of the lake and waterways. Some restaurants were closed M-T-W, but everything was in full swing for the weekend.

We were there for my sons wedding.

The bed was very soft- my husband has a bad back and that would be nice to know. You can hear most noise from the adjoining places and from people walking on the sidewalk.

Thank you for sharing, Janalee. Guest comfort is really important to us, and the majority of our guests prefer softer beds vs hard ones. If you stay with us again and experience a bed that isn't suitable for you or your husband's needs, we'd be happy to relocate you to other accommodations with different choices of beds. You're also correct about the occasional pedestrian on the sidewalk outside the bedroom, and with windows closed, sound doesn't tend to carry into the bedroom.

Get away

I came to Pepin Wisconsin for some days of R/R. Outside of Lake Pepin, I knew nothing of Pepin. I was pleasantly surprised by the options available in this small villiage. The accomendations met my needs. The neighborhood was quiet and I was only 2 blocks from Lake Pepin.

Quiet, clean & efficient.

Everything comfortable, with exception of mattress. Old, worn out & uncomfortable. The only reason we would not rent again for this price.

I'm so sorry you found the mattress uncomfortable, Mary. We'd actually put in a new mattress and box spring the week before your stay, so unfortunately I'm at a loss in how to remedy this concern for future guests. Other guests have shared that it's quite comfortable, and we've had the same model mattress in use throughout our rentals because so many guests find them comfortable and get a great night's sleep. Thank you for sharing your concern, and I wish I could have offered you a solution at the time.

The furnishings looked like they all came from a second hand store, box springs and bed were on the floor, no frame. There was an old bench outside to sit on which was very dirty and cigarette butts littered the sidewalk. Dirty bathmats in the bathroom, not good at all!

Disappointed

I’m disabled and rented this property for the weekend. There was no ramp from street to property, then there is a rickety wooden step to get into the property. The lock numbers are very small and hard to read. The interior of the property was scummy and needed a coat of paint. The check in process is way over done. I talk with others at the bar who have stayed at the property and said the exact same thing! I received over 5 emails from them. The bathroom tube did not drain! All in all not a good value for over $200 a night. I would give this a 5 star rating at $100 dollars a night.

Unfortunately Steven did not reach out before, during or after his stay to inquire about accessibility or express any concerns. Lumberyard Lofts is a licensed lodging facility and is compliant with all applicable accessibility standards. While we try to offer accessible layouts and amenities to guests wherever possible, the Village of Pepin did not allow us to install a ramp on the public sidewalk this unit opens onto. Instead, they allowed us to permanently install a step and handrail for guests needing a little extra help into the building. Unfortunately Steven didn't reach out to us with any concerns, and while he may feel that ratings should be subjective to the price of a rental, he did choose to visit during Pepin's most popular month, and at only $172/night, received one of the lowest rates offered in town. We are disappointed he didn't choose to share any concerns with us during or after his stay, and relied on people at the bar to rate our small business.
