Your morning coffee will never be better than enjoyed in a rocking chair with great views of the Cathedral spires. Enjoy 3 story living (4 king beds) for just the right amount of space.
The completely renovated 5 bedroom cabin is a peaceful, fully air conditioned gathering place for family reunions or friends centrally located near all the major attractions and just minutes from Custer State Park and on a paved road.
The huge wrap around deck overlooks a gas firepit surrounded by comfortable Adirondack chairs, perfect for viewing the night sky. The deck is accessible in three directions: south thru patio doors out of the TV room, east thru patio doors out of the master bedroom, and north at the bottom of the staircase just off the kitchen. Nestled in tall, stately pines, the interior features a completely stocked kitchen with an electric stove, dishwasher, drip and Keurig coffee pots, a TV room with a 65 inch Smart TV, free wifi, and indoor dining for 13 in the great room that is both cozy and spacious with rocking chairs, recliners, and sofas. The lower level laundry room has 2 Speed Queen washers and dryers. The cabin is only 4 1/2 miles from Stockade Lake, 7 1/2 miles from both Sylvan Lake and Legion Lake, and near Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park, Needles Highway and only 20 miles from Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Just one mile away you can connect with the Custer State Park spur of the Mickelson Trail. Custer has one of the best off-road UTV rental companies with well maintained equipment and preloaded GPS.

Annual Black Hills Vacation

Our family travels to the Black Hills every summer for vacation and this year we chose Custer. This cabin is right on a road out of Custer, so easy access. The view was amazing, so we spent a lot of time on the deck. The owners were very easy to work with and we had no issues with our stay. Would stay there again.

Great views in Custer

This was a great cabin for a group of 10. The deck was amazing along with the views. Cabin had everything we needed and very close to Custer city and the state park.

Tourism Professionals Visit the Black Hills

Our stay included a group of tourism professionals visiting the Black Hills of South Dakota for a photo and video shoot. Pinetree Cabin was the perfect location and a wonderful stay! Accessibility was excellent while still maintaining privacy and serenity. Overall a wonderful stay!

Very well appointed

House had everything we needed and then some. Very quick drive from town made shopping and dining easy. Close to all attractions as well. We had no complaints and would stay here again. The kids play area really made our downtime at the house enjoyable for all ages. Thanks for a great stay!

Comfortable home base

Our visit to the black hills was possible because of this well located cabin. We enjoyed comfortable bedrooms and plenty of living space. The deck and outdoor fire pit were great in the evenings. Great spot

Perfect Family vacation spot

We came w 2 daughters, husbands & 2 grandchildren. Plenty of room for everyone. Even a great kids playroom w new toys. We felt like we were at a big home. Lots of living space. Great deck & firepit. Home had everything we needed. Owner was so welcoming. Lots of great spots to eat in Custer.

Great property with easy access to all you want to see in the Black Hills

Well located within 2 miles of downtown Custer. The property was great for our family of 12 which included ages ranging from 3 to 68. Great outdoor and indoor gathering spots. Kitchen and eating area was laid out very well. Having basically a master suite in the basement was nice, with one bedroom on the main level with a bath next to it, then 3 bedrooms upstairs with a bath. We did find it a little difficult to get the temperature right between the 2nd story and basement level but certainly no different than most two story homes. It would be ideal if there were a couple of mini-split AC units upstairs for the warm summer weather. Overall, we would highly recommend for a large family or couples. Nice to have the 3 main bedrooms all have king-size beds. We had a great time!

Great house and location

The house was perfect for our group of 6 adults and two children. It was just what we hoped for. Excellent location for our sightseeing and really comfortable after long days traveling around the area. Diane was very proactive and was a great host. The pictures on-line don’t really do it justice as we were even more happy when we arrived and saw how well equipped the house was. Exceeded our expectations.

Great place! Very clean!We loved the great room, being able to spend the evenings together visiting. We loved the fire pit, swing and chairs, having smores. We loved being able to eat meals on the deck. Comfy beds. There were 11 of us, 4 different households brought together for a week. It was beautiful. Just a few suggestions—one refrigerator (esp a side by side) is not enough for that many people. An extra fridge downstairs would be very helpful. A bigger water heater would also be helpful. It wasn’t keeping up with all of us. We could have used more towels and washcloths. Thankfully, I brought some but even with those, we were having to do loads of laundry every day. 2 washers and 2 dryers are great though!! The upstairs bathroom is very small, when 7 people were sharing it. Overall it was a great week. Thank you for sharing your home with us!!

Great getaway

We came to the black hills for a family vacay riding UTV’s. Location was perfect and there was plenty of room for us to all spread out. We really appreciated having king beds in all the main rooms so all couples had a good sized bed. The kids loved the toy room space, and the deck/fire pit were amazing to chill around each evening. Only complaints were how stuffy the upstairs got, and the parking situation with multiple trucks, trailers and UTV’s. But we were able to get air circulating in the evening and the owner was very helpful in directing us where to park.

Family Friendly

This cabin was perfect for our family. We had small children, and the upstairs play area was perfect for them. We also really appreciated the baby gates on the stairs. The beds were all very comfortable, and we had plenty of extra pillows and blankets. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need. The two washer and dryers were very nice to have, and it was also a nice surprise to have laundry detergent provided. The owner also provides plenty of towels and wash clothes. The owner had excellent communication, and the listing described the property perfectly.

Great Location

The house is in a great location, only a few minutes from the town center of Custer itself. Custer State Park is short drive, and all other Black Hills destinations are within easy reach. Diane is a great host - she responded quickly to all my message both before and during our stay. The house was large enough to comfortably sleep our party of 9. One thing to note if you come during a warm spell in the summer (it was in the 90s the first few days we were there): the top floor, which sleeps up to 7, gets warm during the day despite the A/C. It cools off at night and wasn't too much of an issue, but if you prefer to sleep in the cool there are bedrooms in the basement and main floor that didn't get overly warm during the day.
