Ultra-modern open floor plan with breathtaking wrought iron tree beds and fantasy forest decor...you've never experienced anything like this before! Guests will be surprised to walk into the historic cottage facade into a crisp ultra modern and spacious, open-plan interior! The heart of this home is a spectacular light-filled gathering place surrounded by windows, including two large windows near the top of the vaulted ceiling with treetop views that create the feeling of being in a clearing in the middle of the woods! House was very bright and clean. The owners put lots of creativity and hard work into renovating the house. A ten minute walk to restaurants. Communication with owner was excellent! Great for our family weekend trip!

Perfect for our Girls Weekend!

The Modern Tree House was an amazing home with all the amenities we needed! From a well stocked kitchen to pampered bed & baths! Our girls weekend was a great location to town, quiet neighborhood & plenty of parking. Thank you for the recommendations for restaurants & local events. We can't wait to return again next year!

Best Host and House

Let me start with the hostess with the most-est, Liz. She communicated with me regularly and gave a recommendation for the best restaurant I have visited in a very long time. The house was amazing and everywhere we looked there was another piece of art. She supplied everything you need for the most enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this house and thank you Liz for everything.

A Mount Dora escape

We had the pleasure of spending a week in Liz’s wonderful Tree House. It’s a beautiful property, very peaceful, very well equipped, and immaculately clean. It’s within easy walking distance of the restaurants and shops of Mount Dora, but also only 40 minutes away from Universal etc. Liz was a great host. She had everything ready for our late arrival and quickly responded to any questions we had. We’ll definitely stay there again if we can.

Experiential Art Opportunity

This place is phenomenal! Truly an opportunity to exist within art. If you're old.enough to remember panoramas, well this is the ultimate one. Since it's a remodeled post office it even has a shoe box shape. Perfect! When you enter by the side door, head straight up to the top of this "treehouse" or continue on what feels like a path in the woods, complete with artwork of forest bugs. This leads you to a huge, open floor plan living space (clearing) that dwarfs you by trees visible thru high windows and a 10' dandelion by the front door. You actually feel minituarized and dropped into this Modern Tree House panorama! Climb the staircase to delight with a raven themed, humongous suite...it's the entire 2nd floor! What till you luxuriate in that whirlpool bath. Spa Heaven!!! There's even a balcony enabling you to relax in the treetops. One with nature. Each bedroom is a beautifully decorated, dream to sleep in. They're perfectly done. The forest theme resonates throughout but is truly immersive in these bedrooms. The main area is so spacious. A great place to cook and hang out. It's ultra modern looking and every detail is forest themed down to the silverware! Each area experienced separately has a museum quality. Wait till you see the details! These hosts provide a top of the line experience on every level. ALWAYS. They absolutely captured nature with a modern flair. Staying here is much more than a place to sleep. It's an opportunity to exist within art. Take it!!!

AN AMAZING FANTASY FOREST!

This was by far our best VRBO experience ever!!! These hosts definitely want you to have an incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience and with this fantasy forest they have certainly achieved it! Usually a tree house theme means rustic wood, dark interior and hunter greens so this was such an unexpected reinvention with its ultra-modern crispness, elegant iron furniture, bright light-filled interior and vivid pops of lime greens! Definitely a departure from everything you thought you knew about tree houses! This property keeps everything on-theme as a beautiful homage to trees in every detail, even the most unexpected ones! There are gorgeous books about trees in the upstairs library, the most unusual board games featuring trees, iron twig cabinet pulls, lotions and soaps that smell like evergreens, the most exquisite branch silverware, and even snacks that were produced by trees! And of course the elaborate tree beds are breathtaking! Absolutely phenomenal attention to detail everywhere you look! The upstairs master suite is truly in the treetops and the large attached deck gives you a literal birds-eye-view of a multitude of birds coming and going on bird feeders that were attached to cables on pulleys to hoist them high amongst the treetops to give you an eye-level view! The upstairs bathroom is expansive and feels like an elegant spa! The downstairs bedroom are both spacious and equally as dazzling...there is definitely no bad bedroom in this house an

Love the Modern Tree House

Everything about the stay was perfect. Liz was very attentive and easy to reach out to with any questions. This house was perfect for our family stay in Mount Dora. It is well equipped with anything you may need plus so much more. There was a lovely card for us when we arrived that made us feel very welcome. There are so many unique pieces throughout the house, had a fun time just checking everything out. The house is super comfortable and the location is perfect. We will be coming back!

Luxury Mt Dora Modern Tree House

The Modern Tree House was the perfect place to celebrate our 50-year college reunion. From the moment we walked through the front door we knew we were in for a luxurious experience. Throughout the house there are those little extra high-end amenities such as beautiful art pieces, plush linens, designer kitchenware and smart home technology. The bedrooms have a first-class feel with high thread count sheets, plush pillows, and a quality mattress that ensures a restful sleep. We were very satisfied with a large smart TV, individual climate controls, and ample closet space with quality hangers in each room. The large well-appointed master suite has a spa-like feel with a jetted tub, quality toiletries, large shower, and plush, absorbent, and irresistibly soft towels. The well-equipped kitchen has top-of-the-line appliances, premium cookware and cooking utensils, beautiful wine glasses, and elegant tableware. Small touches like a coffee machine with a selection of gourmet coffees, a drip coffee maker and ground coffee, a wide selection of teas, and a pantry and refrigerator stocked with organic and locally-sourced ingredients made cooking easy and fun. We would stay here again and I highly recommend The Modern Tree House to my friends.

A Spectacular Stay at Modern Tree House

Our stay at the Modern Tree House was nothing short of magical. From start to finish, this VRBO rental exceeded all our expectations, and I can't help but sing its praises. First and foremost, the modern amenities provided were outstanding. The fully equipped kitchen made meal preparation a breeze, and the sleek appliances added a touch of luxury to our stay. We found ourselves enjoying the latest movies on the top-notch entertainment system, making every evening a delightful experience as well as watch our local college football game! The location of the Modern Tree House is simply unbeatable. Nestled amidst the serene beauty of nature, it offered a peaceful retreat that was still conveniently close to local attractions and amenities. We took advantage of the nearby restaurants like 1921 and Momma’s BBQ to name a few of the explored charming restaurants. Let's talk about those beds - they were like sleeping on clouds. The comfortable mattresses and high-quality linens ensured we had restful nights throughout our stay. But what truly took our breath away was the layout of this tree house. The open-concept design and expansive windows seamlessly integrated the interior with the surrounding forest, creating an unparalleled sense of harmony. We spent countless hours on the balcony savoring the breathtaking views and blessed to have a visit from an owl to truly just make the whole Modern Tree House feel like a dream. Will definitely be back!

Come Experience Something

We have been coming to Mount Dora for years. It took us a while to understand that not all properties with a 5 star rating for the home & the host, are created equal. We had the incredible opportunity to rent one of Liz & Lee’s properties the very first time we came to Mount Dora. That set a precedent that we want to continue. The Modern Tree House is something out of a decorator’s dream. It’s fun, funky & functional. I walked in and saw such amazing decor. I was overwhelmed.They have been working on this property for two years & they have painstakingly turned it into a masterpiece. The master bedroom was on the top floor of this incredible 2 level home. It’s the biggest master bedroom we’ve ever had in any home including our own! From the decorations to even the placement of certain windows draw your eye into the tree tops. There’s an outside sitting area right off the master, perfect for morning coffee & in the evening for relaxing in the tree tops. Liz is the grand master of whimsy… something I can’t live without in a home. Look anywhere in this home & you will find something that is guaranteed to make you smile in amazement at the workmanship & love that was poured into this home. We have had to stay in other places occasionally out of need. No other home has been as well appointed or as SPOTLESS. We could have shown up with nothing & Liz & Lee have already thought of everything. The house is within easy walking distance to downtown & is truly an incredible retreat.

I was born in Pennsylvania but grew up on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and moved to Florida at 11. I met Lee at Daytona International Speedway during Bike Week in 1990. He is a four-time national champion roadracer and I was on crutches after crashing my pink Honda "Hurricane"! We got married a year later and have been best friends for 32 years! We live happily in a small 572 sq.ft. one-room cabin on 35 acres surrounded by nature & amazing wildlife!
