Welcome to The Outpost @ Joshua Tree: A magical 1950’s Ranch House with expansive panoramic views of the valley to the North and stunning vistas of the boulder hills of Joshua Tree National Park to the South. Immerse yourself in a carefully curated desert landscape and surrounding beauty. Stargaze while soaking in our HOT TUB. Enjoy fun times in the GAME ROOM with POOL TABLE, DARTS, CORN HOLE + more. Only a few quick minutes from the Joshua Tree National Park entrance!
Our house is a perfect blend of Boho & California Sophistication with Mexican Saltillo terra cotta tile floors, white walls, raw pine accents with rugs, pillows, music and art to provide texture.
The living areas includes a wood burning stove insert, stereo, 2 turntables, LPs, HD TV, books and games.
The kitchen & dining room are outfitted for unforgettable indoor meal in our dining room, or al fresco dinners on the patio under the market lights.
The bedrooms are large, with hotel-quality linens and comfy mattresses. Reading desks, board games, yoga mats, lounging chairs and quiet nooks abound.
For those who choose to be connected, we have Starlink high speed internet and a 50" smart TV with your favorite apps. There are also smart TV's in the primary and second bedrooms.
Amenities include:
- Ranch Style home with accommodation for 6
- 2/3 bedrooms, 2 full baths. 1 King bed in the larger primary bedroom, a Queen in bedroom #2, and a Queen bed in the bedroom #3/Sunroom.
-HOT TUB under the stars for your enjoyment
- Gorgeous backyard with outdoor dining area, BBQ, lounge furniture, etc. Romantic, tranquil and fun (oh, and those views!).
You'll be able to access all of the living areas of the home inside and out.
In the garage/game room, there are maintenance items in the locked cabinets and behind the fabric curtains. Please do not access these areas.
Our place is located in Panorama Heights neighborhood of Joshua Tree, California, United States, adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park. Our neighborhood is perfectly situated to enjoy all that the High Desert has to offer. Our 2.5 acre property offers hiking possibilities. Joshua Tree National Park Visitors Center is less than 8 minutes away and we are 25 minutes from Pioneertown and Pappy & Harriets.
Car or SUV is the best way to get around the area. The roads leading up to the The Outpost are unpaved but a 4WD is not necessary. It's also a great neighborhood for a stroll or hikes.

Pets:
Up to (2) dogs are allowed with $50 Pet Fee. Additional dogs or other animals need to be approved in advance by the host.
Guests are responsible for any damages caused by their pets.
Please relieve your pets at least 100ft from the house and landscaping.
Please clean up after them as well.
Trash:
Our trash dumpster is on the street above the house. It is the BURTEC dumpster, located on the south side of Bolsa Ave on our side of the street.
Notification of Failure to Comply:
Failure to comply with parking and occupancy standards, as well as public and private nuisance standards is a violation of County Code and that such violation may result in enforcement actions to address the violation. We have a number of law enforcement officials that live in the area, and are sensitive to noise level. Please keep that in mind and maintain the beauty and solitude of this special neighborhood!!
Utility Disconnect:
Water: Water shut off is in the valve box on the south side of the property. Wrench for turning off water is located in drawer in kitchen.
Electricity: Power shut off is at electrical panel outside next to the front door.

HOUSE INFORMATION, RULES & CHECK OUT INFO:
Rules:
While most guests are respectful and wonderful to host, we do have a small percentage that have not treated the house and their surroundings with respect. We only state these rules because we have not, not because we want to.
Doors and Screens:
Please keep doors and screens closed so animals and bugs don’t get in.
Hot Tub:
Hot tub is set at 85-90 degrees. It normally takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get to 100 degrees with the cover on, during the winter it may take longer. In the winter, please set the temperature at 100 degrees a few hours before use. It takes much longer to heat with the cover off, so we suggest that you leave it on whenever it’s not in use. Please set the temperature back to 85 before you check out.
Garage/ Game Room:
The garage code is the same as your door code.
We are in the process of converting the garage to an ultimate game room. In it you will find a pool table, dartboard and corn hole. Patio and lounge cushions are stored in the garage as well.
The garage also has a washer and dryer that is accessible to guests.
Outdoor Lighting:
The outdoor (dark sky friendly) string and dining area lights are controlled by the remote hanging next to the fridge. Please leave the remote hanging in the house.
Furniture:
Please do not move any large furniture such as sofas, dining tables, beds, etc. This is only here because it happens more often than it should.
Outdoor Noise:
We love our neighbors – please be respectful of their space, and their privacy.
No music outdoors in the evenings.
Please be aware that we have a number of law enforcement officials that live in this area that are sensitive to noise level. Please keep that in mind.
Extra Guests and Parties:
Outside guests and parties are strictly prohibited at all times. The county is cracking down on short term rentals hosting parties and we want to be respectful of our neighbors. If you break this rule, there will be a $5,000.00 fine.
Smoking:
There is NO SMOKING OR VAPING within the residence or within 10 feet of the residence.
Other Items:
Careful not to overload the toilets as they can plug up if too much is put in at once—we have a sensitive septic system. Wipes and feminine products need to go in the trash. Guests will be charged if a plumber has to be called.
CHECK OUT BEFORE 10:00AM
CHECK OUT PROCEDURE:
• Place the trash from the house and game room into the dumpster.
• Put dirty dishes in the dishwasher and start it.
• Set hot tub back to 85 degrees and ensure it is covered.
• All items that came from the sunroom and garage must be returns.
• Please ensure that the garage is locked.
• If sleeper sofas were used, please leave them open for cleaning crew to wash linens.
• Please make sure when locking up the house that all windows and doors are locked, curtains and blinds are closed tight.
• Turn off all lights expect for the entry way light, which is on a motion sensor.
• Exit via the front door and press the Yale logo to lock it.
The person accepting the rental agreement is the responsible party. As well as initial entry in to the house and locking up the house upon departure.

My wife Liz and I are producers based in Los Angeles & NYC and travel all over the USA and Internationally for work with our son and have been VRBO guests ourselves for a long time! We recently started making our dreams come true by becoming hosts ourselves!

We instantly fell in love with The Outpost the moment we saw it! The energy of the surrounding area, panoramic views, and the beautiful garden drew us in. We love all of the wildlife and nature views everywhere you turn. This property is in the most desirable area of Joshua Tree and has much more to offer visually than a new concrete box home in a flat sand lot in the valley. It is very quiet and private and you feel yourself relaxing the moment you arrive!

The house is in the Panorama Heights, which is a small section in the southern part of Joshua Tree know for the best views in all of Joshua Tree! Many short term rentals are in the flatlands where many are homes built on flat sandy lots. Our lot has been a home since the 1950's and boasts mature trees, lots of wildlife and stellar valley views!
