Cozy waterfront cottage with boat launch. Close to town.

We are sitting on 2 acres of property with 300 feet of waterfront at the mouth of the Tallaseehatchee Creek and the Coosa River. We offer a nice boat launch that can accommodate even larger boats.

This spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath house can sleep up to 6 with a fully equipped kitchen open dinning room with a six person dinning room table. In the laundry room you will find and a large capacity washer & dryer with some of the essentials provided.  The living room provides a big screen smart tv where you can enjoy your favorite streaming services using free high speed internet, we also provide a few classic board games, card games, and a few books to read. 

Outside you will find 2 covered decks overlooking the property with a beautiful water view. Enjoy a cookout on a charcoal BBQ grill. Then make your way down to the water via a gentle slope stair free, to a beautiful sitting area with a natural stone firepit.  The boat ramp and it's two docks are just a few feet away from the house.  In addition to all this you will also have access to kayaks that can be used to go exploring on the creek. 

We will never ask you to do a long list of chores before you leave. All we ask you to do is kindly take out all of your trash before you leave. We are here to make sure you enjoy your vacation.

Myself and other family members often enjoy using our river house. Unfortunately we are highly allergic to pet dander therefor we can not allow dogs or cats on the property due to health reasons. Thank you for understanding.

The host was excellent with communication. The home was clean, tidy, and had lots of amenities available. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of linens available. We enjoyed the views of the water and cooking hot dogs over an open fire. Plenty of games and activities and the wifi worked well. We didn't use the kayaks but they are good quality sit on kayaks like I own myself. We had a nice gift basket to welcome us and felt right at home during our stay.

Wedding Weekend

Everything was perfect! I only wish we could have stayed longer and really enjoyed the amenities. We chose this location because it was near a wedding venue we were attending, so we were limited on the time we actually relaxed at the house. We did make time for morning coffee on the banks of the creek and an evening fire. It was so relaxing!

Perfect Location and Gracious Host

I needed to be in the area for work and wanted an alternative to driving back and forth to the Birmingham hotels each day. I'm so glad that I found this cottage to rent as a much better alternative. The cottage is a cozy two bedroom with plenty of space to spread out in. Since I was working, I needed a place I could bring my equipment in each day as well as a good internet connection. This space suited my needs very well for this. Although I didn't have time to enjoy the lovely river setting or take advantage of the outdoors sitting and gathering area, it was beautiful and peaceful and definitely a place to sit, relax, and enjoy the riverbank. April was a fantastic host and I was impressed with her attention to detail. Unlike many VRBO hosts, April included the extra things that others don't' bother to include. Dish and Laundry soap, paper towels, shampoo, and etc. She was always very quick to respond to questions and to accommodate our needs. I would highly recommend her cottage and I won't hesitate to come back and stay again in the future!

Peace on the river

In the area to run the Pinhoti 100 (Heflin to Sylacauga) and needed a nice, quite place to relax pre-race and recharge afterwards. Perfect spot and the host couldn't have been nicer. The house was incredibly clean and well furnished, and the river-front property made for a very peaceful setting. Thanks so much!

Relaxing Home Away from Home

Our family stayed here while our kids were out of school on fall break. The place was immaculately clean when arrived and the hosts even left a little bucket of snacks to welcome us. They were very responsive when we had questions. This cottage was right on the water and had a wonderful fire pit that we enjoyed roasting s’mores at. We visited Majestic Caverns and the Blue Bell Creamery while we were here. We had a FANTASTIC stay and made some great family memories! Thank you for a great vacation rental experience!!

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful experience from the start. Communication with April was easy and she answered all the questions I had promptly. As soon as we arrived everything was perfect. The house is the cleanest VRBO home I’ve ever stayed in and the little welcoming details added a lot to our stay. Thank you April and we will return soon.

Great Cottage

Cottage was very clean and well stocked with all the essentials. Neighborhood was quiet and friendly. All questions were answered immediately. We really enjoyed kayaking down the creek. Great relaxing trip.

Peaceful Getaway

We truly enjoyed our weekend baseball getaway! This place was clean and quiet with great access to recreation. We were playing baseball in Hoover and this retreat offered much more than a hotel room, with cleanliness and lots of amenities including kayaks and convenient water access for kayaking and fishing opportunities. We will definitely be back when we are in Hoover again...this time we will bring our fishing boat, as there is a public access ramp right at the property. The owners were super helpful and communicated well. Everything was super simple and we really enjoyed our stay!

Prefect Location

This rental was the perfect location for getting to Red Eagle and to Selwood Farm for my sons SCTP tournament. We loved being right on the water in our boat and the kids loved the kayaks. Owners were super sweet and had a little welcome basket on the kitchen counter. We would stay here again for sure.
