A Quiet Cottage close to beaches, Kennebunkport and Kennebunk. Polly’s Place.

Our cottage is centrally located on a country road nestled among fabulous restaurants, live entertainment, hiking trails, beaches, boat tours, flea markets, antique shops, art studios, museums, golf courses, all within a 5 mile radius. Spend the day in any of the above activities then come back to our clean, serene cottage to rest up for your next adventure. Enjoy nature watching or read a good book from the lawn chairs.

We take pride in our cleanliness! We even wash the couch cover and all throws between guests.
No need to pack a lot , we supply most amenities like paper towels, toilet paper, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo and cream rinse, first aide kit, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, dish detergent, trash bags, basic spices and condiments, coffee, tea, and sugar to get you started on your vacation.
Polly’s Place is one of 2 houses that share a 5 acre private property located back off the road with a mixture of trees and lawn. This cottage was built by our Aunt Polly and Uncle Hans. We lived in it for years while building our forever home in the back of the property. It’s quiet here with a peacefulness you feel being close to nature.
Polly’s Place features a full size kitchen and dining room, a large comfortable living room, two bedrooms, a large bathroom, office area, and laundry area. All bedrooms have blackout shades. The night sky is pitch black perfect for stargazing. Enjoy the large yard area and gas grill. There’s no need to pack sheets and towels since all linens are provided.
Locally owned meat market, seafood stores and farm stands are conveniently located nearby.

Visit the quaint coastal towns of Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Cape Porpoise and Wells; featuring great restaurants, shopping, golfing, and sightseeing. Take a scenic coastal cruise or go whale watching, fishing, surfing, kayaking or just spend the day relaxing on the many local beaches. Portland is only 20 miles away. Take a train from Wells (10 miles away) to Portland or Boston.

Great cottage. Had everything we needed. The basket of snacks on the counter was a nice welcome. I could only imagine sitting by the picture window and watching it snow.

We had a great stay at Polly's Place. The quiet setting was beautiful. The place was very roomy. The bedrooms, including the beds were great. The hosts have gone to great lengths to get all the details right including the place being super clean, plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, tons of dishes, glasses, mugs. The kitchen has all of the basics covered including utensils, spices, condiments and even coffee & tea. There is a book full of details about the area and restaurant recommendations. The Hosts have thought of everything! Its the perfect place to stay in the Kennebunkport area.

This was the perfect spot to stay with my family. The cottage is so cute and very spacious. We had 4 adults and there was plenty of space for everyone. The bedrooms were inviting comfortable. The bathroom had plenty of space and towels. There's even an outdoor grill Patty and Eric are right onsite and were amazing host. We'll definitely be back it was the perfect home away from home!

When you check into a VRBO, you always wonder if the pictures and description are accurate. My wife and I were so impressed with this property and locale, that we stayed THREE weeks. This very quiet setting included turkey and all kinds of birdlife. Several nights we slept with the windows open - never a sound except the birds. Everything about our stay was fabulous - we had read some concerns from a prior guest about ants and spiders. I think they were dreaming - we saw nothing of the sorts over three weeks. What we did experience was a very comfortable king size bed, nice sheets, plenty of clean blankets, super WIFI, every kitchen utensil you can ever need, many paper goods, very nice gas grill, clean, clean and more clean. I had some business to conduct and found the small desk setup perfect. Streaming TV enabled us to follow the few shows we enjoy. Outdoor seating on many evenings was welcome. Beach chairs meant we didn't need to buy and the 10-minute drive to Gooch's Beach was easy. Washer and dryer were convenient. Patty and Eric were always available to answer questions on the area - prior to arriving, her communications were awesome. In addition, there is so much to do in the area. I'm reluctant to tell others this great secret as I don't want my future stays to be tough to get. But I've already booked for 2026 and will be staying at least three weeks again. AWESOME EXPERIENCE!

A nice stay in Maine

The house has all the amenities you could want - lots of linens, supplies, laundry, kid toys/games/books, even shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. The kitchen is fully stocked, and the living room is cute with lots of spots to lounge. It’s a short drive to goose rocks beach or into kennebunkport which we liked. The hosts were communicative and offered an early checkin and late checkout unprompted! They provided snacks and local guides and starter water. There’s a big beautiful front yard. We visited in July and it was quite hot. There are window ACs in the bedrooms and living room but it’s quite loud and not super effective in the main living area. There were also a number of bugs (ants, spiders). The house is attached to the owners’ main home. It’s on well water so you’ll need to bring your own drinking water. I think if you’re a slightly more rustic person this is a great stay!

The Most Wonderful Cottage

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Polly’s Place. The cottage is clean, comfortable, and well stocked with everything you would need. The extras really made our stay more enjoyable and relaxing. We will be back next year!

Very clean and comfortable

Exceptionally clean, and a very cute place. It is an “older” home but very well maintained. Had any kitchen item, utensil, tool you could hope for. Comfy sheets and linens, plenty of towels. We enjoyed all the extra details and amenities. Great location close to Kennebunkport as well as major highways 95 and 1. The hosts greeted us and were very nice and accommodating. We hope to return if we are ever in the area again!

Perfect place to stay in Maine.

The cottage is located on a quiet side road, with a large lawn surrounded by huge trees full of many types of birds. A peaceful place for a morning coffee, listening to their songs. It is a short drive to the beaches, shops and numerous restaurants in Kennebunk/Kennebunkport. We rarely ate twice at the same place; all were of very good quality. The house was impeccably clean, with comfortable furniture and all required accessories. Touches such as flashlights in every room and motion detecting night lights spoke to an attention to detail.Patti and Eric were excellent hosts. They responded promptly to all communications and were welcoming without being intrusive. The check in instructions and guest info were clear and accurate. There were many helpful suggestions for restaurants/shops and places of interest, as well as many books and magazines about the area. We really enjoyed the stay, which went all too quickly. Thoroughly recommended, and would not hesitate to rebook.

Perfection!

I cannot remember a time when I felt more welcome. Everything we needed for our stay at Polly's Place was easily within reach from the moment we walked through the door. The homeowners thought of everything, including the tiniest details, to make our family's stay over Thanksgiving comfortable and happy. The kitchen and bathroom are fully stocked, the bedrooms are comfortable, and the other areas (living room, dining room, and sun porch/family room) were great spots for our family to spread out and enjoy our stay. The homeowners are kind and responsive, the location is lovely and quiet, the home is spacious, and the decor is beautiful. Polly's Place is a treasure, exceeds five stars, and is deserving of a rating of "Exceptional." I would absolutely book the location for our next trip to Maine.

Beautiful Rental Near Kennebunk

A wonderful place to stay! The owners are very friendly, accommodating and happy to suggest places to go and places to eat. Great location for visiting Kennebunkport and Portland! Good location for a beautiful drive to drive to Camden as well for beautiful nature trails and historic sites. You won't regret staying here!

Family Weekend

We spent the weekend at Polly’s Cottage while attending family weekend at University of New England. Polly’s Cottage was perfect! Patty & Eric have thought of everything to make your stay so comfortable. And the location was great! Close to everything but it feels like you’re in the countryside. We will absolutely stay again.

Great stay at Polly's Place

My husband and I have stayed in many vacation rentals and this one was one of the best. You can't beat the location, private, quiet and close to town. The hosts have thought of everything you could need. From motion sensing lights, flashlights next to the bed, fully equipped kitchen, snack tray, I could go on and on. This was the cleanest house we have ever rented! The next time we are in the area, we will definitely stay here again. Thanks Patty and Eric!

Wonderful experience!

Patty and Eric thought of literally everything! Charming home in a good location, fully stocked with towels, sheets, blankets and throws; snack basket for our arrival, water in fridge and on countertop, coffee pods, all sorts of sweeteners, full dinnerware, pots, pans, mugs etc.. not a single thing was missing! BBQ, beach chairs, beach towels, binder with all restaurants in the area, soap, shampoo, even extra toothbrushes (which in fact came in handy for my boyfriend who'd forgotten his!

Excellent central location

This location was perfect for a first time visitor to Maine. We spent most of our time out of the house but it was centrally located to so many wonderful locations. The check in process was seamless. Excellent communication from the hosts and we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a Maine trip that’s close to beaches/activities, but much more private.

Nice cottage minutes from the coast

A really nice beach type cottage with easy access to much of the southern Maine coast. Modern bathroom and kitchen with comfortable bedrooms. A very homey feel overall with very attentive hosts who kept up with us via electronic means and made helpful recommendations. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to be near the coast with a little quieter environment.
