Surprise your loved ones with a unique home away from home when you book this historic downtown Annapolis retreat! The original house was built in 1867 and is said to be the first subdivision of the Hammond-Harwood Gardens. Lovingly restored in the 1980s, the early home has been documented through photographs by the Historic Preservation Society. The current owner, a Naval Academy Graduate, decorated this incredible home in true Naval History Fashion. The iron gate surrounding this home has been in countless engagement and wedding photographs. Located within a block of the William Paca House and Gardens and two blocks from Annapolis Harbor, St. Johns College, and the Naval Academy. The location is also perfect for USNA and St. John's events, family vacations, or multiple couples looking to tour Annapolis, DC, and Baltimore.
This historic, gated home has a lovely courtyard surrounded by a beautiful gas-lighted brick wall and an English Lions Head Fountain, both built in 1997. The private patio off of one of the guest rooms is perfect for that morning coffee or evening respite while taking in the courtyard landscaping and fountain.
Inside, the living room has a large leather sofa and two side chairs, a game table with seating for four, and a 60-inch TV mounted on the wall. Ready for that game of cards with the family! The kitchen was recently renovated to this century yet maintains the history of the home with beautiful hand-painted tiles and a unique stainless steel countertop and sink. There are commercial-level appliances and all necessary amenities to prepare delicious meals. Additionally, guests can find an island seating three people. The large, separate dining room with an extending dining table seating for up to 10, or 12 with the extra leaf will be perfect for family meals. Off the kitchen is the perfect spot to curl up with a book and enjoy the views of the courtyard below. The basement game room is accessible by a spiral iron staircase and features a shuffleboard table, bar, and darts.
