Experience 'simple living' in this nicely curated 540 sq. ft. Ferndale bungalow. Located a quiet .7-mile (15-minute) walk from the heart of downtown, this cozy retreat is designed for efficiency and comfort.

The Space: Relax on the screened-in front porch or stream your favorite shows in the living room on our 43” Smart TV (YouTube TV & Netflix included). With 300 Mbps WiFi, it’s a perfect spot for remote work. The kitchen is fully equipped with a small fridge, Keurig, and microwave, plus a small dining table for four.

Sleeping & Amenities: Two bright bedrooms each feature a comfortable Queen-sized bed. Please note that laundry is located in a traditional, low-ceiling Michigan basement (utility use only).

The Neighborhood: We are located across from a quiet commercial building—guests love this as it means no front-facing neighbors and extra privacy during your stay.

Pets: We are pet-friendly! We offer a small, fenced-in side yard for quick breaks. Please note there is a $100 pet fee per stay.

Stayed for around 6 weeks in total and had a great stay. House is exactly as advertised and hosts were easy to communicate with when needed. Location is quiet and easily accessible. Would definitely stay again if I'm in the area!

Cute little place in a great location, I'd definitely stay again! Had all the amenities I could want or need. Happy to say the A/C was top notch - definitely important to me in the dead heat of summer. Host was responsive to questions, what more could I ask for?

I enjoyed going out walking in the neighborhood each morning. The house is tiny, but closer to my family in Ferndale than the hotel would have been so I didn't spend as much time commuting.

Terrible location, terrible inside and outside.

Cosmetic procedures used for photo. Across the street from a railroad depot. Rotten wood on the trim inside the house. The tiny porch was filthy.

Cozy, affordable stay in a fun neighborhood

Great communication from Joe and easy check in/out process. We walked to several great restaurants and boutiques. 10 minute drive to DIA, Royal Oak, etc.

Outstanding Detroit Visit

This was our first time visiting Detroit. And, we had a wonderful time. This property made it even that much better. Situated in a very nice, quiet, friendly neighborhood in Ferndale, MI. Its locale was perfect for getting around to do any and everything we desired. The property managers were readily communicative. We will definitely book here again, the next time we visit Detroit!!!

Good Location to Downtown Ferndale

The location was great, and the host communicated efficiently and effectively. However, the bungalow needs painting, and the porch screens are in disrepair. Although the place was clean, the lack of paint on the walls gave it a dingy feeling.

Good Stay

The home was as described. It worked perfect for our stay in Ferndale. Communication from the host was excellent. Great neighborhood to walk our dog daily. A lot of restaurants and shops close by. The home was clean. Would stay again!

Short stay with my boyfriend

The place is exactly how it looks on the ad. It was a pretty decent stay. Only thing I didn’t like was that it could’ve been a bit more cleaner, I could tell that there were pets that sheds fur there before my stay. But other than that Joe is very responsible and even provide a binder with things around the city to do and eat.

Simple with a great location

Great location. Walking distance from a coffee shop and a brewery. Could use a deeper clean in between guests. Small house with not much privacy but great for a simple place when in town.

Pleasant and uncomplicated

Sweet little house in a quiet neighborhood. Close to downtown. Very walkable. Hosts provided friendly touches, such as snacks and bottled water. Extremely comfortable beds. Nice screened in porch and cute lush backyard. Hosts made sure we checked in okay and then let us be, which is my favorite. Only negatives (that didn't significantly impact us but others should be aware): -House is not accessible if you have serious mobility issues (several stairs up to the front door). -Kitchen is comically small. The hosts have arranged it the best they could to maximize space, but do not plan to cook any large or elaborate meals during your stay. Side note: Neighbor who lives behind the house copulated with someone, outside in full view, while we were sitting on the front stairs one night. He had also arranged his TV and couch to be out there... perhaps to woo the young lady pre-copulation? One minute they were watching Breaking Bad and then suddenly bare bum cheeks and feet in the air. Odd but entertaining. Pretty perfect otherwise.

Quick last minute trip with my dog

I needed a place to stay last minute with my dog, and this property was perfect for that. The check in and check out process were super fast, and the host was very friendly and helpful. It was nice having a fenced in backyard for my dog. The neighborhood is pretty quiet for the most part, and we really enjoyed our walks around it. It was a great stay and I’m so glad there was availability. Fun tip: there’s a brewery about a 5 minute walk from the house off Woodward Heights called Urbanrest!

Cozy Ferndale Bungalow

Very comfortable small 2 BR bungalow. Comfortable mattresses, ample heat, good cross ventilation. Kitchen is very small as is the bathroom sink. Small fenced yard is utilitarian. Near the train tracks but not a problem. Laundry in the basement was a plus. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Convenient location & just what we needed.

We were in town for a baby shower, which was actually in White Lake, but we wanted to stay in the Ferndale/Royal Oak area. We used to live in the area, and the location of this house is great with lots of nearby parks, restaurants, venues, activities, and great walking potential. Super close to the zoo and a short drive from Detroit if you want to check out the restaurants, night life, museums, or shops there. The house was the perfect size for us, enough space to relax, make ourselves at home, and cook while easily being able to keep an eye on our toddler. The house was well stocked and the fenced backyard was an added bonus. Check in was a breeze and the house was super clean and at a cozy temp when we arrived, which was great as we arrived at 5am and just wanted to immediately get some sleep. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The house was cozy with thoughtful touches and Joe was a great, helpful, and responsive host.

I love the balance of this location. It’s a 15-minute walk (.7 miles) to the heart of downtown, but the street itself is tucked away from the late-night noise. Being near the 'maker' district gives the area a unique, quiet privacy that’s hard to find so close to 9 Mile.
