You'll love the furnishings and thought that went into the use and functionality of each space to ensure no detail was missed. You'd never believe you're only minutes from uptown Charlotte, professional sports and concert arenas, shopping, and so much more, because you feel so tucked away and relaxed on this property. It's truly the perfect location for a long or short stay!!

This home is a great little gem in a small community!! Out of respect to those who live in this neighborhood, you will receive our "Community Guidelines" via email prior to checking in. Lake house weekend

Easy check-in and check out. Amazing house with plenty of beds/space for group with 9 adults. Everything clean and easy to use. Owners were exceptionally accommodating with check in/check out times. Would highly recommend!

Property is beautiful

The lake views are stunning, lots of natural light and views of the lake. Swimming off the dock and using the large float was the girl's favorite activity. Although toasting marshmallows at the firepit was wonderful too. The house was larger than I thought with plenty of living space and tons of beds for everyone to have their own space. The house did get warm, the AC does not keep up with warm temps outside with all the windows and big sliders. Understandable you want the views but from a comfort standpoint the AC just isn't enough. That aside we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the home, the view, and the lake activities. A lovely lake front property.

The property is nice. Lots of space and places for people to spread out. Home is nicely furnished and was clean. Missing one star because there were several things that were missing. There is a lack of cookware and cooking utensils, you have the very basics and can get by. Could definitely use additional dish and hand towels, there was not even enough for each bathroom. The home seemed to still be somewhat winterized or at least no one had used the outdoor space for some time. It did not appear to have the level of up keep that was expected, this was mainly in the outdoor areas. The canoe was full of water, the fishing poles were in bad shape and unusable, the fold out chairs were unusable due to spider nests and nasty build up on them from being left outside on the dock over the winter. Several of the outdoor seats were damaged from weathering. It was a nice quiet cove and we had fun floating off the dock. The firepit was nice but the overgrowth of the bushes was blocking the path. Lots of attention had been placed on decorating, not so much on maintaining. I am chalking some of the issues due to it being early in the season. It is a great location and a very beautiful home.

Quick Getaway

We were with two other couples for a nearby event and rather than stay in another hotel, I found this wonderful lake home. The waterfront location provided beautiful views and much needed relaxation. Everything about this rental was perfect: communication and accommodations with the owner, cleanliness, furnishings, and multiple locations to simply hang out. Truly one of the best VRBO homes I've ever booked.

Perfect family house!

We spent a lovely Thanksgiving holiday at this beautiful home. There was plenty of entertainment for everyone. I would love to go back in warmer weather to make more use of the lake. The home is convenient to stores and restaurants if needed. Very nice get away with family!

An Amazing Location, House, and Owner!

We had a handful of friends at this great property for our 17th annual Fantasy Football draft! Sara was amazing in helping us get booked and settled and we had a GREAT couple days enjoying the lake from her home! I’m 100% sure that I’ll take the championship again this year and we couldn’t have picked a better spot to come together and start the fantasy football season! Thank you Sara!

Great house and lovely lake!

This house was more than enough space for the 9 of us! Inside, there are 3 separate gathering areas, which is fantastic! In addition to the 2 outdoor spaces, we had plenty of room to spread out and hang out! The beds and linens were comfortable. The rooms felt quiet at night (and with good blackout curtains), which made for easy sleeping. The lake is so lovely and quiet as well. We hung out in the warm water most of the day! The offer plenty of floats and life jackets (as well as 6 chairs down at the dock). The ping pong and shuffleboard tables were entertaining. The owner was prompt to respond to questions. We would definitely book again.

Mini Lake Vacation Before Camp Drop Off

We rented this house with another family for a few days before we dropped our kids off at Camp Thunderbird. The house has amazing space! We had 6 kids and 4 adults. Our girl group LOVED the bunk room and the boys were able to have their own beds downstairs. The adults were upstairs with wonderful rooms as well. The downstairs living space was perfect for the kids to chill and watch a movie after a long day on the lake. During lunch they played a couple rounds of ping pong. The house is beautifully decorated and makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. The dock was great and we were able to tie our boat up to enjoy the lake. Great location! We will definitely be back!

Relaxing Family Getaway at the Lake

This beautiful 5 bedroom 3 bathroom lake house was the perfect fit for our immediate family trip. We comfortably fit 9 adults, 2 kids and an infant. The house has so many nice little touches towel hooks in every room, beside table chareges for your phone, board and card games for the kids and family. The mutilpe open louge areas inside and outside spaces that this house has is wonderful. It allowed for a large group of people to spread out in the house. When it came to items for the lake the house was prepared with floating water seats and life vest for the kids. We truly enjoyed our days on the lake and fire pit. The time spent together as a fmaily in the house was wonderful. We ware already talking about plans to come next summer. The host is just wonderful and answered all my questions right away. This is a truly a lovely property in a wonderful setting.

Needed More Time!

We only had a couple of days for a quick trip to the lake, but after arriving we really wished we had more time! The property is beautiful, cozy, and very functional. The teens enjoyed having the ping pong table and the quiet cove for swimming. The house was very clean and had everything we needed! Looking forward to staying here again and having the time to relax a little longer!

Weekend girls trips

We stayed at the property this weekend for a relaxing bachelorette trip. We had an issue with the AC working and Sara was extremely responsive and sent someone to the property to fix the next day. The house was clean, organized, & beautiful. The beds were very comfortable and the house was really safe and quiet. The location was perfect and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay!!

Beautiful lake house

We really enjoyed staying here! The house was beautiful and spacious. Plenty of beds for our whole family as well as multiple hang out areas. Kid friendly. The provided life vests and floats were perfect for playing in the lake. We will definitely be returning for a future vacation.

Beautiful Lakefront Property

Our family of 10 stayed comfortably in this property. The neighborhood is very quiet and the children enjoyed the lake activities (swimming, canoeing and fishing) The grounds are lovely and the lakefront is peaceful. We even saw deer and bunnies and my personal favourite was listening to all the birds singing. Property owner is a sweetheart - highly recommend!

Memorial Day Long Weekend

The house was in a perfect location on the lake. The dock was great for our boat. Our rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the fire pit (bring your own wood). Some solar lights on the stairs to the fire pit would help with safety and would have liked to have had oil in the torches. Two of the chairs were broken. The deck and patio were a great place to sit and watch the water and geese. So relaxing! It was not a big deal but the deck/patio furniture were really dirty. There was even a bird’s nest in one of the patio chairs behind the pillow. Mitch was great to help on the first night when the A/C stopped working. It was fixed within two hours late on a Friday night! Thanks Mitch!! Great House on a Great Lake!!

Incredible lake getaway for family gathering.

We invited family from the Carolinas and Alabama to join us in this heavenly spot close to our niece and her daughter. The home is perfectly appointed, and stylishly decorated. Lots of spaces to gather and enjoy the time together, and rented a boat for one day to see more of the lake. Especially enjoyed the kitchen with everything we needed to cook all our meals close by. Hope to come back soon!

Hi, I'm Sara Brennan and I am thrilled to get to share this space with you! My family and I have made so many beautiful memories here and I can't wait for you to do the same. My husband, Mitch, and I fell in love with the house from the first moment we saw it! The A-frame allows for grand scale and beautiful windows that let so much natural light pour in! There's so many living spaces, which allows you the ability to gather with friends or distance yourself from the group for a bit and recharge (right, fellow introverts?). We knew this could be a place we could retreat to and enjoy for many years!

When I am not lounging on the dock at the lake house, I'm the CEO and Principal Interior Designer at my design firm, Sara Lynn Brennan Interiors, located in Weddington, NC. I am excited to get to share my signature design style with you in this home, as we have done for many clients in the Charlotte area and beyond over the years. When designing this house I paid careful attention to the functionality of the home and how it would be used. Not only am I a designer, I am also a busy mom of two young children, so I get the importance of design that really works! That's why you'll see hooks for towels and wet swim suits, Alexa devices for dance parties, and performance fabrics on all the furnishings! I also love how versatile this home is and how it can accommodate families, couples and even professional retreats or work gatherings!

My kids love coming here after a busy week or a day of travel baseball on the weekends. They wanted me to share that they LOVE sleeping in the bunk room and that fishing is SO fun! You will often find us floating around on tubes or playing a fun game of wiffle ball on the common area with friends! Our whole family looks forward to hear about the memories you make here and we hope that you feel "At Home on the Lake".

It's quiet and private and does not feel like you are only 20 minutes from uptown Charlotte! It's so close to our favorite restaurants, shops, arenas, the airport and anything else you'd need or want in the area. But, if you're feeling like a homebody, you can always order in from the many nearby restaurants who deliver on all the delivery apps such as Shipt, DoorDash, Postmates, etc.
