Vibrant and distinctive downtown loft with a ton of charm and character located above one of Fairhope’s most popular watering holes & cigar bars! This is not the place to come curl up with a book!

Walk the town & enjoy all of what Fairhope has to offer because this location is tough to beat.

The Space:
At Book Montrose, we want you to feel at home and so we've outfitted The Fairhope Spot with AMENITIES. There is a full kitchen with a toaster oven, blender, Moccamaster drip coffee maker, and more. There's also a Marshall Bluetooth speaker for your tunes, a new 4K streaming TV, and a dedicated workspace desk (with monitor and laptop hookup) and task chair for your work from home needs.

In the bedroom you'll find a hotel quality bed and linens. In the bathroom you'll find spa quality toiletries. There is also a comfortable sleeper sofa in the living room that sleeps an additional 2 people to accommodate a total of 4. Perfect for two couples or a small family.

Free parking is available street-side on Bellangee Ave and Section St, directly outside of the property.

Other Things to Note:
Please note that as of June 2023, we have installed a commercial grade air scrubber to purify the air and the entry and exit doors have been sealed to prevent active smoke from entering the unit from the cigar bar outside. A residual smell of smoke may still be noticed by those who are very sensitive to smells, but we are confident that the cigar smoke issue has been significantly resolved and that the large majority of guests will not find it to be an issue. If you have a highly sensitive sense of smell and think you would find residual smoke smells to be troublesome, we do not recommend booking this unit.

There is also a noise monitoring device, made by Minut, that is installed in the common area which only monitors noise levels (no recording of voices). This device is used by Book Montrose solely for safety reasons so that we can be alerted if a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm is triggered, for example, and if violations to house rules, such as holding a party, are occurring.

The area's natural beauty can be seen at Village Point Park Preserve and Weeks Bay Reserve, while Fairhope Museum of History and Marietta Johnson Museum are cultural highlights. Punta Clara Candy Kitchen and De-Cuba are also worth visiting.

If you don’t like smoke, pass on this one.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway for our anniversary. The place was quaint and in a great location to walk to most of the hot spots in Fairhope. The only complaints I have were the noise and the smoke from the cigar bar below the loft. If you don’t mind smoke, you’ll be fine. But if smoking bothers you, you should skip this listing. The noise Friday night came from a concert, and Saturday night, there was a wedding (with live music) next door. The night of the concert, the music didn’t stop until after midnight. The noise bothered me less than the smoke. The listing says there’s a purification system and sealed doors, but the smell was still there. Our clothes even smelled like it when we got home, including the things we didn’t wear. The A/C was locked so we had to ask to lower the temperature. Cooler temperatures (or even a fan in the living area) may have helped with circulation of the smoke. I will note though that the owner (manager?) of the cigar bar was extremely nice. And we still enjoyed our weekend, but we spent the majority of our time out of the loft. We appreciated the nice towels in the bathroom, the cleanliness of the place, and the quick communication from the property manager.

This stay was wonderful from start to finish. Never had to get in our car once all weekend. Location was perfect!! Bed and pillows were so comfortable. Communication with host was great. Would definitely stay again.

Great location and decor

If you love visiting Fairhope and staying in the quaint downtown to soak it all in, this place is smack in the middle of it all. Great decor and amenities for a VRBO.
