The Cottage in the Cove

The Cottage in the Cove is a charming 3 bedroom 1 1/2 bath home on Lake Norman. This warm and cozy cottage has been freshly remodeled while maintaining its charming character with exposed rock walls in the open floor plan living areas. This quaint area is calling you to grab a book, open the doors to the patio and relax into your own little reading nook.

**Currently, the water level is extremely low.**

This house offers three bedrooms upstairs located above the walkout basement living area. The full bath is located upstairs, which has its own double vanity sink with the most elegant marble countertops and shower/bath combination.

We didn’t forget about the view! This house has a lakeside deck that extends the full length of the home! If you call yourself a grill master, test out the propane grill and enjoy a beautiful sunset around the outdoor firepit or from your private dock. The flow of this house is perfect for a weekend getaway. At the risk of sounding cliché- this home is so homey; it truly does feel like a home away from home.

Had a great time. Wish we could have stayed longer. Wasn’t able to try the kayaks because the lake was low and we weren’t sure where to launch them from. Great in between spot for us as we wanted to go to Huntersville and Charlotte. I would stay here again.

We absolutely loved the cottage. It fit all our needs and was very clean and comfortable. It is located to a lot of stores and restaurants . The fenced in yard was very handy for our dogs. We could not access the lake due to the water in the cove being to low which was a disappointment because We were looking forward to fishing and kayaking . But the location was quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay .

Overall, this is one of the best Vrbo experiences we’ve had in a long time. The host was communicative and helpful, the property was incredibly clean and comfortable, and everything was exactly as expected and described we especially appreciated how pet-friendly it was. Surprise win was the quality of WiFi for working remotely. Wed stay again in a heartbeat.

Cute cottage, great back yard, kitchen stocked well, beds are very comfortable. Very peaceful area with trees surrounding the yard. Definitely bring bug spray!

We had such a wonderful stay at The Cottage in the Cove! The cottage was exceptionally clean, beautifully maintained, and truly one of the best stocked places we’ve ever stayed. They thought of everything you could possibly need, which made the visit so relaxing and comfortable.We also loved that it was pet friendly — such a huge bonus for travelers with furry family members. The atmosphere was cozy, welcoming, and perfect for a getaway.Thank you for such a lovely visit. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared place to stay!

We had a great stay at this home in Denver! We were there for 5 nights and really appreciated the spacious yard — it was perfect for relaxing outside and a great space for our dogs to run around. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. We’d definitely stay here again on our next trip to the area!

The property was great for pet owners with the fenced in yard. The property was tastefully decorated. Very peaceful setting, never knew their were other homes next door. Only disappointment was there had been a drought so there was no water available for any water activities. No fault of the owner. Could use possibly a blender for making frozen drinks. But other than that the property had everything needed. And leaving the property is challenging with the electric gate, but I understand the owner is working on that. Overall a really nice place to stay. Very peaceful, just what you want on vacation. A place to relax. Host is always available for questions. Enjoyed our stay!

The cabin was very clean and well cared for. It was located in a quiet neighborhood. It was also conveniently located near restaurants and shopping and lake Norman state park.

Great place to stay!!

The host messaged us quickly and when we got their checked in on us and when there wasn’t any trash bags he drove all the way to the rental and left us a huge roll of trash bags! We really enjoyed our stay and would love to go back!

The house was lovely. Outside seating areas need tending, we couldn’t use the grill, and stuff was dropping in our drinks from the underside of the upper deck. We should have been told about the drought, we paid to be on a lake, brought kayaks and fishing gear to use only to find no water at our deck. I feel we should get a credit due to this fact! I would like to return but would definitely be sure to make sure there is water at our lakeside house.

Great place to stay

Owner was communicative from the time I booked the property throught the entire process. Anytime i had questions, he responded promptly and was extremely helpful. Cute house with a lovely backyard space that our dog enjoyed very much. We were very comfortable in the house. Absolutely recommend and would stay there again if we head back to that area.

Jake’s place has everything you need for a fun and comfortable stay at the lake. The kitchen is well stocked and has all utensils, pots/pans and all that is needed. The fenced in yard is perfect for pets. Jake is very responsive in his communication! Highly recommend The Cottage in the Cove!

Jake’s place was great overall. Unfortunately, due to the drought, we weren’t able to enjoy the property the way we had planned. The water level was too low to bring our boat to the dock, launch the kayaks, or get in the water at all, which definitely impacted our experience.The home itself was very clean, well maintained, and pet-friendly, which was a huge plus for us. We did notice quite a few wasps in the backyard, which is obviously outside of the host’s control, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re visiting during the summer. I’d also recommend bringing bug spray.One thing worth noting is that while the listing mentions a lake view, the waterfront view is fairly limited. Because of the drought, the cove was very muddy with a lot of weeds, which blocked much of the water. Even aside from the drought conditions, I personally wouldn’t describe the property as having a true lakefront feel, so it’s worth keeping expectations in mind if that’s an important part of your stay.One of our favorite features was the fire table on the upper deck. It gave us a great place to relax in the evenings without having to spend time in the yard, where the bugs were more noticeable. Despite the challenges caused by the drought, we still had an enjoyable stay and would recommend it to others.

Your property was just perfect for our needs. Located just 10 minutes from our North Carolina family. Would definately recommend for anyone looking for a weekend get a way or a week long family vacation.

Cottage In The Cove

We enjoyed Jake’s home! Had a fire, went kayaking and explored the State Park. Very quiet neighborhood but close enough to activities. Jake was very quick to respond and was very helpful. It was a very relaxing stay!
