While we understand you were missing “amenities” in our house, none of the items you were apparently expecting are listed in our description of the property. We mention neither the existence of beach chairs nor water toys nor use of washer/dryer. We offer laundry service by our maids, which you did not request. Maid service once a week is standard for vacation rentals, and we make no promise of more frequent cleaning, although the description expressly mentions that guests may arrange additional cleaning with our house manager, but you did not. Our kitchen is fully stocked and I am not sure what utensils you were missing –if by “stocked” you mean a fridge full of food, that is not included in the rental of a vacation home. However, even THAT we could have arranged for you but you didn’t ask. Therefore you may want to consider actually reading the description for a rental property before you book, and if daily maid service, daily towel changes and water toys were your priorities, then a 5-star hotel in Tamarindo may have been a better choice. You describe our community in PG as “lack luster” compared to Tamarindo, we proudly agree: PG is not for everyone and we’ll keep it that way! We are in a protected natural reserve – no noise, no parties, no jet skis, just nature, a pristine beach, nesting turtles, small restaurants, and a quiet, green residential community. We love it this way and people who come here agree – PG is the preferred destination of anyone wanting to escape the overcrowded, noisy tourist traps of other towns. Yes, with a “natural reserve” come encounters with other living beings native to CR, including dozens of bird species, turtles, monkeys who also visit our area. And we care about the security of our guests and bars on the windows are a common way to ensure it. Those bars are quite visible in the pictures on our VRBO page and most properties in CR have them. So it seems you got exactly what you booked but it was not the right place for you: vacation rentals are for families valuing their privacy over daily towel changes, and PG is for people who want to experience the beauty of CR without noise and partiers. Your complaint therefore compares to booking a safari and complaining about the lack of Starbucks and the presence of large animals around your camp. We regret that you chose to submit this negative feedback instead of contacting us, but the other reviews show that guests appreciate PG and enjoyed their vacation in our house
