Private ocean-view estate - Close to Surf Cup, Beaches, LegoLand, Safari Park

Spectacular, secluded mountain top log cabin retreat on a fully fenced and gated 5+ acre avocado farm located just 7 miles from beaches and close to Surf Cup, Legoland, Safari Park, Disneyland, SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, and other SoCal attractions.

Private and quiet but conveniently near all the best that Southern California has to offer. This 4 bedroom/3 bath home comes fully equipped with a gym, sauna, steam room, "spa-pool" (NOT heated), and separate hot tub. Great for family vacations. No events or unregistered guests are permitted.

The first floor is divided into 2 areas. On one side of the house, there are 2 bedrooms with a shared bath. This side of the house also has a sitting nook for watching TV or can be used as an office (equipped with a large desk and office chair).

On the other side of the first floor are a large open kitchen, dining area, and living area with an oversized sofa perfect for hanging out while playing shuffleboard or darts. The master bedroom with an en suite bath is just off the kitchen. The master also has a door to access the large wrap-around deck on the first floor.

The first-floor deck is equipped with a bbq, outdoor dining table, and lounge chairs for enjoying the view, reading, or summertime naps.

The second floor is made up of two lofted spaces connected by a hallway and a large bath. At the top of the stairs is a small deck perfect for viewing the sunset. The 1st lofted area is the common room for watching tv or playing games. The sofa pullout into a very comfortable bed. Through the hallway and past the bathroom is a lofted bedroom with 3 king beds, perfect for close friends or kids. This room also has a small balcony and is accessible by stairs.

The location offers breathtaking 270-degree views from the Pacific Ocean looking west to the mountains in the east.

We had a fabulous trip! We are a family of 6 and we absolutely loved our time at Fat Bottom Farms. The views on the property are outstanding and there is a ton of space, both within the large house and the nearly 6 acres. The workout room allowed for a good workout and the outside areas are great. Benjamin was super responsive and the check in and check out was very easy. The kitchen is totally stocked -- we made several great dinners there. The location is great as well - restaurants and stores are within 8 minutes and it is just 20 minutes or so to the beach. We would love to stay there again sometime!

Wonderfully spacious home for our family reunion! The hosts were so responsive and gracious, and they even put up a small Christmas tree for us. We loved the views and being close to so much hiking.

We absolutely loved our two week stay at Fat Bottom Farm. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodated all of our requests and really made our stay a holiday to remember. The house is gorgeous and is fully equipped with everything you'll need for all the family. A wonderful space with plenty of entertainment for all - pool, hot tub, gym, pool table, table tennis, shuffleboard and darts. There aren't many houses where you can watch the sunrise and sunset from the same wraparound veranda but this is one of the best and they really didn’t disappoint. My early morning coffees watching the sun come up was one of my highlights. The house is perfectly located to Elfin Forest for hiking and just 25 mins from Carlsbad - so easy to reach the coast and all the beaches. We loved the sea lions at La Jolla Cove and coastal hike at Torrey Pines. San Diego Safari Zoo is definitely worth a visit and whale watching in Oceanside was magical. Really well located to San Diego and super easy to get around. We really can't recommend this house highly enough and will definitely return.

We loved the house, it was so roomy with lots of fun activities for adults and kids. The house was fully stocked with anything you may need. When not enjoying the house we went to Safari Park, The Midway, the beach and Stone Brewery. Our host was very sweet and helpful.

This is an incredibly beautiful property, up and down, inside and outside. The nature, the privacy, the comfort of having everything you need… this place has it all. I would say the only downfall at all is that the pool is not a full sized swimming pool (which I could have missed a disclaimer upon booking). It’s the perfect leisure pool and is the perfect depth for kids, but don’t expect to be diving and taking long laps. The area is spacious and views are breathtaking. The owners are very prompt to respond, very kind, and even shipped a few things my kids left behind. They had great recommendations and with a little drive, you have so many options for fun activities! 10/10 would recommend to everyone needing a comfortable and relaxing getaway.

Wonderful Stay

Beautiful elevated property with stunning views of the hills and surrounding farms. Spacious enough to easily house three couples and accommodate two dogs. We took advantage of the hot tub and deck on a daily basis. The host was gracious enough to leave us a bottle of wine for Christmas.

Beautiful property

The house was beautiful and spacious with so many amenities we didn't have time to enjoy them all on our short weekend trip. The house was perfect for us; allowing the teenagers to stay upstairs as a "hangout", and the adults to stay downstairs away from the giggling. It was the perfect holiday!

Peaceful Retreat

What an amazing stay! We were in the Delmar area for a National soccer tournament and chose this listing for the proximity to the venue, but also to provide us with a place each day to unwind and recharge. Fat Bottom Farm provided exactly what we wanted plus more! It was peaceful, tranquil, with the most beautiful sunsets. The host Benjamin was attentive and incredibly helpful going above and beyond for us the entire stay. We will be back!

Relaxing

The property offered enough amenities to keep us busy on our stay. The bathrooms were beautiful, kitchen offered all gadgets and dishes, and beds were super comfortable. There were a few TVs, but we only tuned in for an hour or so. Games kept us entertained, along with shuffle board table and pool table.

Exceptional

Plenty of things to do at the property for all ages. Games, pool, shuffleboard, darts, not to mention the pool. Outdoor space is very peaceful. Remote location, but fairly close to town to get supplies, or go to eat. All around a great place to relax, unwind and reconnect with family. We did have one small issue with the water (neighbor below cut the main line), the hosts got on the problem and their handyman had it fixed within a few hours. Not even long enough to be an inconvenience. Hadley came by and made sure we were ok, offered plenty of options in case it was prolonged. Overall great hosts, great property, great time had by all!

Amazing view just outside of town

This place is really cool! Communication from the host was excellent. We loved the view and the fact that this property was just outside of town. Lots of privacy! The house was stocked very well including condiments, extra batteries, coffee, multiple throw blankets on every couch, soap + shampoo in every bathroom and shower. Everything you'd need. Being able to pick fresh fruit in the yard was a great experience. Next time we're in San Diego, we will rent this property again.

Perfect quiet stay

Great place for some peace and quiet. Accurate listing, friendly and responsive host who went above and beyond to accommodate some scheduling issues we had on our part. Would highly recommend for family, friends, couple, or even a solo getaway.

First Family Vacation

This place and the host are amazing!! The house and the property is beautiful. The views from anywhere in the house is breathtaking. There was something for everyone to do from kids to adults. They have the big items there for you, but to me it was the little items that set them apart from others. It was nice that the host (Benjamin) was in contact as he said he would and also very on top of things even before we asked. IE: beach equipment, townies directions, and fresh fruits. I would give more stars if I could. Thank you again for an amazing experience and being part of this trip. Aloha!!

Great spot

This place is out in the country and very private. Even though it is secluded, it is actually really close to lots of entertainment and attractions. The house has a big kitchen, and a couple big common areas, plus a huge back patio. It has breath taking views, and lots to do. Hot tub, gym, pool, cornhole, pool table, ping pong just to mention a few. It will easily handle a couple family’s. The owner was very accommodating and friendly. We will visit again.

Great family gathering spot

The house is spacious and furnished beautifully. Great large deck with beautiful views and sunsets. We had a marriage vows renewal by the pool at sunset, and it was perfect. Comfortable beds. Great vacation.

Amazing weekend

My friends and I came for a relaxing girls weekend and it did not disappoint. The manager Hadley was amazing and very responsive! The property was in a great area where we could relax but still be able to go out and enjoy some city time. The atmosphere and view was beyond expectation. We loved this place and have even talked about coming back!
