We had a great stay in York at this place. Its a lovely home and very cozy. The yard is nice and big and loved that there was a garage! We would definitely stay here again!

Enjoyable stay

Had a family wedding in nearby Hallam but didn’t want to stay at a hotel. Communication with owner was very easy. House is very accommodating for our purposes. Garage parking definitely helped ease our mind about car safety.

Host was very responsive and quick to address needs and questions. It’s OK to walk to the convenience store across the street. Have faith, those Window air conditioners work well and the place will cool down.

Spacious home

The home has lots of room and it's very comfortable. Centrally located and close to everything. We were moving to the area and were able to stay in the home with our cats until the closing on our house was completed. Great way to get to know the area!

Convenient Location!

We stayed at this property to visit a conference at the expo center. The house is perfectly located for that venue! The owners suggested some local restaurants, & we repeated a visit to the Copper Crust - once for dinner and once for breakfast! Thanks for hosting!

My stay

Great location! Beautiful older house with beautiful hard wood floors and well stocked kitchen! Had a few questions which were immediately delt with. Overall a great place to rent. Especially enjoyed the garage with locked automatic garage door! Would recommend for sure!

Great place to stay

We were in town for a wedding in Hallam. It was large and comfortable..plenty of space inside and out. Large lot.. we were able to play catch outside with a frisbee, football, and soccer ball. They had an outside fire spot ready to go but we didn't have the opportunity to do that. The host responded quickly to our questions. We were all happy with this place.

House was nice, good location. Furniture was dated. But was in good shape. Front door key pad was hard to open on the first try. Had to try up to 3 times for it to work. All in all it was a good rental property

Beautiful House with Garage

We traveled as a family (all adults) for a week stay in York for my cousins graduation. The house is beautiful, full of amenities and worked well for us. Two bedrooms (master w/Queen and fouton, and Full in other) on the second floor and two bedrooms on the third floor (2 twins and a twin and full). The third floor is height restrictive, at 5'2" and 5'4" we managed up there but had to watch our heads going up and down stairs. This place is not wheelchair accessable. There is plenty of parking on the pad in the back off the alley, this is a double lot so lots of room in the back, there is also a one car garage to use. We used the garage, it was nice with the opener and locked door not having to worry about anyone possibly accessing it. The house was ready for heat with air conditioners in every bedroom and on the main floor. The house is next to a stoplight so that does make road noise worse, but having air conditioners turned on dulled that noise out in the background. Also there is an awesome second floor balcony to sit out on and enjoy the outdoors.

Like staying at Grandma’s house

No, seriously, it’s even decorated like Grandma’s, in the same seedy neighborhood she’s lived in for 60 years and refuses to move. Decor-wise, it’s something you’d see featured as a “before” of an HGTV transformation, but that’s part of the charm. Tons of seating, like every bedroom has a sofa, and lots of mismatched chairs all around on every porch and the parlor. To address the “not as advertised,” the house has 3 twins and a full sized bed on the 3rd floor, which worked for us, but might not for others. You have to be really friendly with whomever you bring, because to access the adjoining 3rd floor rooms, you have to pass through one of the 2nd floor bedrooms. I must say, the 2 second floor bedrooms are large and spacious. My kids loved the 3rd floor space. A lovey but small 2nd floor bathroom with a clawfoot tub. We preferred the ground floor bathroom for showering because it was larger and had a big linen closet to store toiletries. Plenty of hooks everywhere to hang towels. There’s a cute 2nd floor balcony I suspect gets used by smokers. I had a cup of tea there with my daughter. Also a bay window in one of the bedrooms. My cousin who lives outside of York informed me the house isn’t in a great neighborhood. As I did no walking around, that didn’t bother me. There is a garage on the back of the property if you’re concerned about your vehicle.
