15 mins to Mt Rose ski resort by car; 18 miles from Lake Tahoe. During the days you want to stay at home, simply enjoy the heated indoor swimming pool right in the house.

The space
* Single story 4200+sq ft main house connected to a 1700+sq ft indoor pool house separated by a child-safe door.

* BEDROOMS to accommodate max 15 guests ( Total 11 beds, and the short term rental permit allows up to 15 guests):
- BEDROOM 1: Spacious master suite, luxury Duxiana Dux King size bed with private patio, fireplace, and attached sitting area (2 guests)
- BEDROOM 2: Junior suite with en-suite bathroom and King size bed (2 guests)
- BEDROOM 3: King size bed (2 guests)
- BEDROOM 4: King size bed (2 guests)
- PRIVATE SLEEPING ROOM 5: bunk bed and day-bed with trundle and study desk (4 guests). This is a private with a door to the garage.
- PRIVATE SLEEPING ROOM 6: a rustic den with wooden ceiling and walls with two twin beds (2 guests). This room doesn't have a door. The room is separated by a curtain.
- FAMILY ROOM: one queen size sofa bed (2 guests)

The house was conveniently located near the main road 8 mins from grocery shopping etc...Plenty of room for a large group like ours. Ameneties were plentiful and everything worked.Great experince by all.

The only reason we rented this home was to enjoy the indoor pool. The pool area exhibited excessive moisture with what appears to be mold on the walls, cabinetry and furniture.In addition the pool cover was broken making the pool unavailable during our stay. We left one day early. The listing photos do not accurately reflect the homes decorations and furniture .Another disappointment was the unavailability of the primarily bedroom fireplace and the requirement you bring your own wood for the living room fireplace . We were there during a snowstorm making our ability to get firewood very difficult and possibly impossible.The storm resulted in the malfunctioning of our water heater. The owner was able to get repaired within 24 hours thankfully.It is my opinion this home would work fine for very large groups needing beds but should not be considered a hight end vacation rental given its furniture and decorations.The only possitive part of our stay was the owners accessibility and efforts to try and make the best of our stay. They were very accommodating in letting us have an early check in (pre storm ) fixing the hot water heater, Getting snow removed from the driveway and walkway, and trying to repair the broken pool cover. I asked for a refund of 1000.00.( We paid over 5000.00 for 5 days ) given the pool situation they graciously offered 500.00 .

We sincerely apologize that the pool area did not meet expectations. The unprecedented snowstorm unfortunately blocked the external vents, leading to the humidity issues you experienced. We have since resolved this by clearing the blockage and installing a high-capacity dehumidifier to ensure the air remains dry and comfortable. Regarding the pool, we have replaced the previous cover system with a new design to ensure it is fully functional for all future guests. We appreciate your kind words about our communication and accessibility, as we take great pride in being active and helpful hosts. We wish you the best in your future travels.

Family Vacation

This property was beautiful, and the attached heated swiming pool area was really a hit with all ages. It is close to shopping and Tahoe as well as Reno. We enjoyed our stay very much. Lots of room to spread out and lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. The hosts were attentive to our needs and working through a few issues with the house.

Easy to check in. Loved how the master is in other end of home. All our guest were comfortable. Loved having the high chair there for our little one. Only cooked one meal.it had what we needed for that meal which was breakfast. The only thing I would suggest is having runner lights on the stair landing from hall way to living area. My husband missed judged and fell down them. It was a scare since he is 83. We thank you for sharing your home

Great place for a family reunion!

The home was spacious in a beautiful neighborhood. Smooth check in process, great communication with the host. Loved the indoor pool. Great for the littles in the family! Comfortable beds and an awesome kitchen. We cooked often for our group of 15. Thank you! Great family memories were made.

We had such an incredible time! We had a family reunion and could not be more impresssed by the house, location and peacefulness. Plenty of space, close to town and we went on walks with the younger kids and saw deer and rabitts. Great communication with the owner and the property was truly spectacular.

Winter getaway

This is year 21 of a winter getaway with friends. We've stayed in many places over the years. The location was ideal for skiing at Mt. Rose. The yard was fantastic play area for kids in the snow and a quick trip to the park for snowshoeing. The indoor pool was a hit and heating it was no problem. The house layout is unique with the bunk room just off the garage so it gets a lot of traffic. The double-single room just has a curtain off the main hall but it was great for a teen. The main bedrooms were comfortable. The kitchen is a bit sparsely stocked but we were able to make meals for 12 each night. Overall it was a great trip!

Overall our stay was nice. The host was very attentive and was able to work through the little snags of the front door code not working the first time, the tricky fireplace in the pool room and the pools temperature adjustment. The house didn’t have any of the things that made it look so homey in the listing. No pictures on the walls, no books or games. There wasn’t an exercise machine as pictured. The kitchen was pretty bare in terms of utensils we had to go buy a cheese grater and can opener and we also had to purchase firewood. It was great and we would stay there again!

Lovely area convenient to Reno and groceries

Perfect size house for a family of 8 adults and 4 teens. This is the fifth home we have rented together. The layout was great as the kids rooms were away from the adults. Each couple got a king size bed and only one couple had to share a bathroom. There were two separate tables for eating and playing games and plenty of seating for watching TV. We loved the area with beautiful ponderosa pines and access to Galena creek trail right from the house. It was nice to be in nature with only a 20 minute ride from the airport. Even though it was the end of Nov. half our group went up to ski Mt Rose one day, open because they make snow. It also was an easy drive over to Lake Tahoe where we did a beautiful 3 mile hike to monkey rock. The only disappointment was that the pool area was not heated and the room only got up to 60 degrees. The owner did work with us on heating the pool each day for the hours we planned on using it- 84 degrees max so bring rash guards or wetsuits if you are here in the winter. BTW- there is no spa as it says in the listing

Thank you for your kind review. We appreciate your family chose our vrbo to celebrate Thanksgiving. I am sorry the pool room feels cold in winter. The pool was set to 84F each day. The 60 setting you saw was the humidity of the room, not the temperature. We plan to add additional heating furnace in the pool room to improve the temperature. Wish to have a chance hosting you again in the future.

Don't Recommend in cold weather

Kitchen is bare bones. Only salt and pepper and an old vegetable oil. No cheese grater, no mixing bowls, ice machine doesn't work, filtered water doesn't work, have to keep pressure on microwave door for it to work. I have never stayed at a VRBO that was so beat up and limited. Patio chairs were old and broken. Pool is heated for about 3 hours so only the first couple steps get warm and then the interior is freezing cold. You literally cannot use it. Heater to pool room is disconnected so you can't use it, and with temperature in the 30-50's it is flat out uncomfortable. The TV in pool room doesn't work, the pool table is up against a wall and the corner of the pool so you can't use it and there's missing balls. The front step is very loose, two different steps out back are not secured at all. Dirty walls were pictures used to be but all is bare now. Empty beat up shelving everywhere. Toilet in master bathroom runs nonstop and no Kleenex so you have to use rough cheap TP. Just an overall not up kept home. For $1000 a night I feel extremely misled. After reaching out to host, and her assuring us she would get the pool heated (which was again just the first steps because she only turned on heater couple hours before our requested swim time) We ended leaving a day early devestated.
