Tucked away within a peaceful, wooded neighborhood, and located within a half-mile of the famous Empire Bluff Trail as well as Empire Beach (once named the best freshwater beach in North America), this two-story home is ready to welcome you and your guests to Northwest Michigan.

Boasting a rustic, open feel and an inviting, sunlit great room with a vaulted ceiling, this spacious vacation rental comes with everything you need for the perfect getaway. Prepare your favorite recipes in the well-equipped, full kitchen, and then dine at the adjacent table for four, or indulge in an alfresco experience outside on your furnished deck. Out back, you'll also find a large, grassy yard framed by wooded lots to either side where you can watch for visiting wildlife, plus a firepit ready for s'mores, stories, and stargazing.

Back inside, this home includes two comfortably furnished living areas with TVs for streaming your favorite channels, a washer/dryer, and plenty of board games for in-home entertainment.

Great location, underwhelming house

13 minute walk to the beach, quiet neighborhood, no dishwasher, lots of bugs (including small cockroaches), house not well lit, looks more spacious in pictures than in person, linens, towels, shampoo, conditioner, and liquid bath soap included. We loved the walks on the beach, the dune climbs, and the beautiful scenery.

Perfect location and house!

We really enjoyed our stay in this house in Empire. It is a nice walk (10-15 min) to the beach and it is a good home base for seeing the Sleeping Bear Dunes area.

Great Family Girls Weekend

Great location for a girls weekend. Everything within walking distance - hiking trails, the beach, the stores and the restaurants!! Lovely small town atmosphere.

Large, spacious home, well stocked with everything you will need. Only suggestion is maybe leave some wood, firepit was a great amenity!

We enjoyed staying at this place. It is very peaceful and it is a part of nature as it is surrounded by the woods. The house itself is very nice and spacious. The kitchen has plenty of pots and pans.

Empire on Washington

Clean, comfortable and spacious. Plenty of space for everyone to enjoy and enjoy each other's company. Rear yard with fire pit - a plus. The area is quiet and close to everything on the main street.

Peaceful Empire Getaway

This was a good spot for a relaxing getaway. My friend and I loved that it was within walking distance of both the public beach in Empire and the Empire Bluffs trailhead. The open-plan living/dining/kitchen area had the perfect balance of coziness and space to feel like a comfortable hang-out spot for two, even though the house itself was fairly large. The outside deck offered a welcoming space to appreciate the adjacent grove of sugar maples dressed in their autumnal fire. I will definitely be keeping this property in mind for future stays.

Cannot beat the location

The location of this house is impeccable. It’s a pleasant 10 minute walk to empire beach, and even closer to the little strip of shops and restaurants. Yet, it’s super quiet and peaceful. The home itself was nice and warm when we arrived like it was waiting for us, which we appreciated because it was chilly outside. Home was clean and we also appreciated that there wasn’t an insane list of check out chores like some places have - just basic cleaning up after yourself such as doing your dishes, trash, etc. Overall we would love to stay here again.

Ok for money but updates needed

Convenient location. Comfortable bed and beautiful deck. Comfortable living room furniture. No dishwasher or disposal. Bad smell inside that we finally figured out was a dead animal by the lower back entry (we didn’t use the lower level). The TV is the main bedroom is tiny and antique.

Empire House

This house was not as big as the pics made it look. It was just an average house- but it worked for us. Our trip was to be out in local towns hiking and taking in all the fall colors and beautiful sights of Michigan. We really were only at the house to sleep and get ready in the mornings. Definitely needs some updating. But over all it was ok.

The property does not have A/C as stated in listing. It was over 90 deg inside when we arrived. Also No coffee machine as indicated. Lots of bugs and roaches throughout the building. Internet service was non-functional - The WIFI in the building was fine it was the service to the building. Vacasa told us 4 days in a row someone would come by to deal with the A/C and other issues. Never got a call and they never arrived or dealt with any issues. My elderly parents and the rest of my family had to leave early due to the heat in the building and lack of A/C. I would not recommend this property to anyone while Vacasa is managing it. If your expectations are low and you do not need A/C, internet access, coffee machine andbugs are acceptable then the property is acceptable.

Great - and Not-so-Great

Love Empire, and this house fit the bill for our party of seven - almost. Close enough to town, the beach, Empire Bluff and everything we love to do there. Plenty of space to spread out, and comfortable enough furniture for a rental home. Even the folks on the sofa bed said it was "pretty reasonable," and sofa beds can be brutal. That's the great . The not so great - the listing said air conditioning. There was none. We came planning to do a lot of cooking for our meals, and the "fully stocked kitchen" had 6 forks for our party of 7. You might be able to find 7 drinking glasses, but they be an assortment of sizes from juice to pint glasses, and in pretty worn shape. Finally the bugs. There were a lot - and I gave it a pass, as the house is in the woods on the outskirts of town, but there's no reason the front porch couldn't be swept clean of cobwebs and dust. It made the place a little more decrepit-feeling than it needed to be. All-in-all, a fair home, but certainly not the best we've stayed in in Empire.

A very tired home

Living space was clean. A keurig coffee maker was provided but with only one k-cup provided. That was very disappointing. Except for the master bedroom, all other beds were suitable only for young to teen children. 3 bathrooms are fine. very small galley kitchen. Garage filled with used furniture, full garbage bags & pizza boxes all around. We were able to park in the garage, but it wasn’t a pretty site. There was an overflowing “herby Kirby” at the end of the driveway for our entire stay. Landscaping was neglected.

Excellent location

The house was very convenient to all the sites and attractions at Sleeping Bear Dunes. Empire Beach just a few minutes away. The house had ample space for my family of five and all the comforts of home.

Great experience!

Very warm nice big house. Kids loved the bunk bed. Beautiful location and view around. 30 minutes drive to Crystal Mountain. Would definitely stay there in the summertime.
