Great North woods retreat

Fantastic place for a young family, the kids loved the rowboat to play in. Close to a wonderful beach front park with great walking trails.

Summer Trip

We really enjoyed our Stay! We wanted a place that was close to all of our favorite places and this Cabin worked out Great! Magoon park was right on Lake Michigan, and was a great beach for our Dog and somewhere we had not checked out before! The Cabin was very relaxing and secluded, but easy to get to and from :) would recommend!!!

A Wonderful Relaxing Holiday

This was our second stay at this cabin and we loved it as much as the first time, if not more. We stayed for two weeks and were able to completely unwind from the craziness of life. We love the quick access to Magoon and Sundling beaches and having Manistee 10 minutes away and Ludington only ~25 minutes away. I hope we get to stay again in the future.

Home Away From Home

This was our third time at the cabin. Once again, it felt like home. Just a great place to relax and enjoy nature at its best. So peaceful. The beaches were great. We had an awesome stay. We will be back again!! Len & Karen

Wonderful cabin

My husband and I along with our toddler and dog throughly enjoyed our time in manistee. The cabin is in a perfect location right across the road from Lake Michigan and a short drive into town. We spent a lot of time enjoying the beautiful Michigan weather on the deck. We look forward to returning to Manistee!

Cabin the woods

This cabin is situated at the end of a private lane in the woods. A very quiet setting. It is well equipped with everything a family would need. The cabin is close to many attractions in Manistee and Ludington.

Great value

We stayed three nights and this cabin worked great as home base for going to the beach, which is only about a mile away. There are tons of beds, which makes this a great value for a big family. There is plenty to do on the lot: bon fire, horseshoes, tire swing… There is no WiFi as described, and spotty cell coverage, which makes it challenging to plan your day if you rely on it, but we made do and had all the amenities that we needed.

Fantastic cabin in the woods

I need to echo what I saw on a couple other reviews- the pictures do not do this place justice!! The cabin was extremely well equipped for everything we needed to spend a week here. The woods were so peaceful, private, quiet but still close enough to town to grab food or groceries; 2 minute drive to lake michigan (or 10 minute walk); we were completely blown away. I will definitely be back!

Beautiful location.

We enjoyed our stay but had rain from check in to check out nearly the whole time. This was disappointing because we know how lovely it was from last year. Instead of fires, sitting outside in the woods and enjoying Lake Michigan, we toured the railcar ferry and walked downtown. One bed was sandy—all the others were fine—otherwise it was clean and ready to go. Thanks for a beautiful location.

Little gem

What a lovely stay! This little gem is within walking distance to a great little park on Lake Michigan-we took advantage of this every morning and evening. We went stone hunting on the sandy beach in the morning and enjoyed stunning sunsets in the evening. This charming log home has every amenity you need. Very thoughtful layout-including a bed on the first floor (just in case anyone has mobility issues). The owner Dave is very friendly and made everything -from planning to checkout- easy peezy. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to relax and enjoy what western Michigan has to offer!

Beautiful serene place - good for families with kids, pets and sole visitors

My dog and I enjoyed this beautiful log cabin in the middle of the pine woods. I got a desperately needed 'away from it all' break from crazy work. The house is very neat and equipped with everything necessary even top of the line washer and dryer, still giving the great log cabin vibe. I missed the WiFi though, because my phone provider doesn't cover the area. Beautiful beaches, one is very close - you can walk there: Magoon Creek. Great hiking trails. I can highly recommend the North Beach too. Lots of stuff to do if you need a more intense holiday (I didn't). Thanks, Dave and Kathy! The owners are wonderful. Dave gave a lot of good advice about places to visit. Would love to visit again in the future.

Peace and quiet

Wanted to get away from " living in a fishbowl" in busy neighborhood. I sure did! All we heard was sounds of nature. Was within walking distance of Magoon Creek, beautiful nature center, with trails and lake Michigan access The Michigan Recreation Area was incredible. The beaches and trails exceptional. Downtown Manistee so nice, interesting old buildings, architecture. Very clean, nice river walk too. Got to ludington state park, loved the "tub" , lake MI, and Lost Lake Trail. So much to do! Dave was available and very easy to talk too if needed. The log cabin and property was a joy for myself and daughter. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic, Beautiful Cabin in the Woods!!!

I will start by saying that my husband and I have been renting vacation homes for quite a few years now...both in Northern Michigan and in Florida. This quaint, adorable cabin in the woods is in our top 3 favorites! We felt right at home and cozy and comfortable the minute we walked in the door! Being able to bring our dog is a must for us so that made it even better! David was wonderful to deal with and makes sure that the cabin is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay! I will agree with some of the other reviews....this place far exceeds the pictures!! Thank You, David, for sharing your piece of heaven with us!! We'll be back! Tina B.

Serene Setting

Cabin is secluded and well maintained. Surrounded by tall pines! Right off Lake Michigan near small park with beach and trails. Easy drive to coastal dunes and attractions. Cozy, family setting with fine hosts. Fire pit, grill, play area, patio set outside and wood burning stove inside. Weak wifi but Direct TV. Everything you need to cook too. One double bed downstairs in main room with five beds upstairs. Just one bathroom as expected in a cabin. Definitely recommend for a getaway.

Great up north getaway

Property was awesome. Would totally stay again. Signal strength was spotty with no wifi. Normally not a big deal but I had a paper due for school.

You will love taking a walk through a nature park and arriving on a pristine Lake Michigan beach. Or take 4 mile drive to the beautiful small town of Manistee. It has 2 great public beaches as well as marinas and many small shops. Late summer and early fall it has some of the best salmon fishing in the country. Charter boats are available.

You will love the simplicity of this setting. It's in a quite setting with room to explore. Cable tv and all the comforts of home.
