Absolute Oceanfront, gorgeous 2 BR 2 BATH with AC

Your luxurious oceanfront two-bedroom, two full bath tropical getaway is located on the second floor and right in the middle of a four-story building. Our condo has been completely remodeled with elegant yet tropical decor, and comes with a mini-split A/C. You probably will not even need the A/C. There are great ocean breezes coming through your condo and who wants to miss the lovely sound of Waves, Waves, Waves!

Both bedrooms have Cal-King beds. The master bedroom opens onto a spacious and very private oceanfront lanai. You'll spend LOTS of time on the private lanai watching the surfers on the nearby popular Banyans Surf Break. World-class surfers ride the waves while dolphins frolic in their wake. Lots of spinning dolphins twirling in mid-air, spouting/breaching whales (in season), and giant sea turtles that come right up on shore (Please no touching.) How about sipping your favorite drinks and watching the at sunset (year round)! Oh, what a Life!

There are three beaches nearby: Banyons which is a fantastic surfing spot right by the building.

A beautiful white sandy beach Magic Sands that is only a mile away. For fun, research why they call it Magic Sands. It is all true!

Kahalu’u, a great snorkel beach with coarser salt/pepper sand (2.2 miles.)

Two more of the best Big Island beaches are Kua Bay Beach in the Kekaha state park 8 miles north of the airport (my personal favorite) and if you don't mind a drive, the postcard perfect beach is Hapuna Beach about 30 miles north of Kona. It is the one used on the Hawaii calendars. We provide beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrella, and a beach cooler in the unit. Best to rent your snorkel gear, there are lots of rental places downtown Kona and they offer professional equipment to perfectly fit you for about a buck a day. You are going to have a blast!

Free parking onsite. There is a "take-out" style shop "Da Poke Shack" located on the complex that specializes in poke bowls and plates, featuring a variety of locally caught ahi tuna. Not a fan of tuna? Not a problem. They also serve shrimp, tako and taegu. For those in your ohana who do not eat seafood, they serve traditional lau lau and kalua pulled pork. They even do a vegetarian poke bowl and offer gluten free options.

Amazing View

This apartment was perfect. Loved sitting on the deck listening to the waves. And really loved being able to hear the waves all night from the bedroom. Place was clean and well stocked. Will stay again when back in Hawaii.

Ideal kitchen

Everyone will tell you about the fantastic beach views with whale watching from the lanai, the great location along a wonderful stretch of Ali’i Drive, the beautiful finishes - but if, like me, you do an extensive amount of cooking in vacation rentals and have your own bag of kitchen equipment that you bring along - you won’t need any of It. The kitchen is fantastic. The knives are even very good quality.Not our first stay, nor our last.

Beautiful Picturesque View of the Ocean

These accommodations fit our needs nicely. The view from the Linai was so spectacular. Our only thoughts were that the unit could benefit some updating, ie; linens and furnishings. Otherwise, very nice location.

Lovely getaway!

This was the perfect condo for a family of four. Very well equipped with EVERYTHING you need during your stay. From a wonderful kitchen, with every appliance you could possibly need, to beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, ponchos, snorkeling gear. Every detail is covered in this place. Location couldn't be any better, with Tha Poke Shak right down stairs! I highly recommend and would live to be back!

Perfect Vacation

Everything was perfect, comfortable bed, patio on the ocean with glorious sunsets every night, front one short trip down stairs or elevator was the pool. We were on the ocean side so did not hear any traffic noise. The only complaint is when you are arriving at night the sign to turn into the parking is very small and easily missed, we ended up going in the exit our first night, a bigger sign would have been helpful. We will definitely stay here next trip to Kona.

Bali Kai Calling us back again.

Kona Bali Kai is our go to stay when on the Big Island.. We have stayed at several different units on the property of the past 30 some years and this unit is one of our favorites! Beautifully updated, excellent location, great amenities. Wayne, the host, was very responsive, even when we asked dumb questions about the pool key! This unit will stay on our favorites going forward.

Missouri visits Kona

Unit bedrooms are tight with not much walk room. Guest room has no place to put suitcases or your clothing. Beautiful ocean view and sunsets. Not within walking distance to any restaurants or stores. Overall it was fine for our 4 day stay.

Great location, some issues.

Pros: location, well stocked, beach chairs and boogie boards, nice master bedroom. Cons: needs a deep cleaning especially behind and under furniture, dryer malfunctioning, electrical outlets in small bedroom partly non-functional, 2nd bedroom road noise and very small.

Beautiful Ocean Front

We loved our stay here. The lanai was perfect for a relaxing cup of coffee in the morning before we set off on our adventure for the day. It was also SO nice to have beach chairs, boogie boards and snorkel gear to use. Our only complaint would be that the sliding glass door from the living room to the lanai was VERY hard to open. My mom was stuck in the living room the first morning waiting for us to wake up and help her with the door. Once we learned it was difficult we would just leave it open the night before so she has easy access, so not a big deal.

Great stay at the Kona Bali Kai

Great stay at the Kona Bali Kai! We stayed with another couple and it was lovely having King sized beds for both couples. That said, storage in the primary bedroom was scarce and the second bedroom is a tight fit. Just be aware of that: we managed just fine! The air flow and breeze was so nice that we didn't need the air conditioning. The unit was well supplied, especially the kitchen. Ample towels including beach towels. We did appreciate that Wayne was able to accommodate us with a late checkout, since we had an evening flight. And of course, there was no beating the views. We watched the honu (sea turtles) swimming and sunning on the rocks below us and enjoyed the gorgeous Kona sunsets every night!

Best location in Kona!

This condo was perfectly located for everything we wanted to do! The view from the lanai was spectacular! The kitchen was well stocked! The beds were super comfy! The AC in this unit is the perfect bonus along with the many fans! There are no penny of bath towels and beach towels. The unit felt like “home”. The complex itself is older but we loved it as it has a very nostalgic feel and the poke shop on premises was an added bonus! Slight mishap with receiving the welcome email containing the door code since it came from the property company and not vrbo but it was resolved quickly! We would stay here again and again! It was perfect for our family of 3!

5 Star view

The property was clean, well equipped with plenty of towels, pillows, blankets ( not needed!), bed linens and lots of everything needed in the kitchen, beach towels, gear and toys. The pictures represent the condo exactly. The oceanfront lanai has comfortable furniture and is the reason to stay here. One suggestion-the key code to enter is ON THE FRONT DOOR not near it. Another guest told saw us struggling with the wrong key box and gave us advice. When we saw newcomers who were also making the same mistake we passed the info on. Easy to get in from then on.

Amazing condo and location

The stay at Bali Kai 214 was everything we expected. Set up perfect for our family of 4. The only thing we wanted to change was the weather. Stayed in kona for the entire duration of the Kona Low. Lots of rain. The view was great, saw whales a few times, and was fun watching the surfers as well. Listening to the surf at night was a bonus. There were some very minor issues with easy solutions. Nothing that affected our stay at all. One included a sticky lock on the patio door, and a slight loose kitchen faucet. Very very minor and the owner responded quickly and the issue was solved. Our family can’t wait to get back there. Will try and reserve this spot again for sure.

Arrived and entire space had order of bug spray. All of the furniture is very tired I am sure it was original 30 years old the liani door was closed and unable to be opened however the sales manger responded quickly and after 25 minutes fixed it temporarily as we had to call again 2 weeks later for same reason dishwasher broke had to be replaced a week later.pool was in need of cleaning and lights only work sometimes! The only pluse was the view which was great but not sure it made up for all the negative things. We have rented all over Europe and islands.and this place was a disappointment and would not recommend it especially for the cost.

An honest review

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: They need to hire a professional maintenance company not some young kid.We had to vacuum, sweep deck, wash livingrm sliders so we could see out. Couldn’t use deck first 1-2 days as doors wouldn’t open and wrenched shoulder trying to open them, but rental company sent repair guy fast. AC doesn’t pull out moisture and bathroom was always damp along with some other minor plumbing problems and lightbulbs burned out, 1 being at entrance making entry difficult at night. The vents all over are covered in thick dust and have mold making me suffer the entire time!

A bit disappointing

The pros: The property's location is really nice. The washer/dryer was great and was definitely needed. The kitchen was well stocked. The Cons: The cleanliness really overcast our stay. The bedding was mostly unacceptable. The comforter on the master bed was much older and not what was photographed. That was annoying but the real issue was I don't believe they had been washed from the previous stay. I washed the master bedding (sheets and mattress pad) before sleeping on them the first night. They just didn't look clean. This made for a long night. I thought the spare room's bedding looked better and didn't wash those, but I should have. Our last night (we were there four nights) my adult children found multiple live insect larvae (bed worms squirming) in the bed. They had to sleep on the lanai. We had to jaunt out at 4 am the next day so we didn't have options to wash them or time to find another place to stay. Although the bath and kitchen were clean, anything related to the bedding, towels or upholstered items was suspect at best. (Stained/overly worn and looked unwashed). There were dead insects and cobwebs in/on the light fixtures. We felt the couch and chair needed to be covered with sheets or towels to even sit on them. I bought a $10 set of sheets at Walmart for this.

View was great! Condo was equipped adequately. The host was attentive. Unfortunately we experienced an infestation that disrupted our stay. We moved to a different location. Would recommend requesting pest control records before reservation is made.
